Gotta give mad respect to Evans to come back and win that 5th set. That was crazy!! I bet Khachanov will never be the same blowing a 4-0 lead and tons of break points to go up 5-0
I look like them in the third set. Playing five long sets, three to tie breaks, is brutal. Tennis sometimes turns into a marathon so you need to reserve energy, it is not like baseball and you can just bring in a new pitcher.
5-0 in the fifth would surely have been lights out for Evans. To not only save that game, but to also do that by defneding multiple break points, and then to go on and win the match from that seemingly impossible position, is truly outstanding. large nuts
What a match. Both players were thoroughly spent with very little gas in the tank even by 0-4 final set. Dan sensed that Karen might be having some thigh muscle cramps and dug in with his reserve energy. The crowd support also helped. It will be a miracle if he recovers enough to win his second round match. He is too bruised. Wish him luck.
the DAN EVANS final SET heroic and epic feat is only surpassed by GASTON winning 7 straight games to beat ALCARAZ ... and that was the only time a player wins 7 straight games in history after being down 0-5 in a SET
Khachanov is a class act, also one of the nicer guys in the locker room and quite attractive so you'd think a crowd would be more for him in general, but us New Yorkers? We love a scrappy, beat up, workhorse that has seen better days and Dan Evans is very much that. It's impossible not to root for him. He's such a hang dog type, you just want nice things for the guy. He looks like he's been through things. Khachonov looks like he could be on teen girls' walls with posters or something. Wonder how Evans did in his next match? Probably lost in 3 sets 2, 2, and 0.

Great comeback. But what's up with all the men tennis players 'scratching' themselves so much? This must be pointed out to all the men scratchers. Dan is one. Nadal, Medvedev etc. Enough already. You are being watched by the world!
Dang, that’s a long match. Endurance really plays a part in these Grand Slams since they can play up to 5 sets. Kachanov looked like he was hurting towards the end and didn’t fully run to get the returns.
Dan Evans showed a lot of heart
What a fighter Evans is!
If Dimitrov had the fighting spirit and resilience of Evans Grigor would be a Grand slam winner.
The video and general news about such a victory of Evans is like a balm for the soul. I admire his resilience and willpower.
The heart, the stamina, the fight from Evans is so inspiring. Really proved himself as a competitor.
Both Dan and Karen looked like they were running on fumes. Incredible effort by both.
Respect ✊🏼
Evans is the perfect Brit: wearing his ankle socks ready for a walk in Torquay in summer!! Kudos for both players, they were crammed!
Gotta give mad respect to Evans to come back and win that 5th set. That was crazy!! I bet Khachanov will never be the same blowing a 4-0 lead and tons of break points to go up 5-0
The most insane fight back in grand slam history! After 5+ hours 0-4 15-40 down, that up hill battle from Evans is just insane!
Rightfully earned, defying height strength and age. Master fighter master slicer
Danny at his best. Always so much fun to watch. 👍👌👏😊❤️
It's insane how human they look after 5 hours. Easy to forget how physical this sport is.

Karen was in so much pain and still did not call the trainer, but took it like a real man. I am so sorry!

Svaka čast na fizičkoj pripremi
14:22 and after more thatn 5 hours, you make that incredible shot. Amazing!
5hrs 36mins
Thank you
That's crazy in the first round!
Looks like Kachanov's gas was completely empty.
Cramping
Warrior Brit.
Magnificent victory.
I blame it on the icy nuts 🥶
_The first thing I thought was: don’t put the ice on your thighs. His coach should have advised him._
Fair play to Karen, wasn't bitter at the end. That's not easy to do.

your comment is so backhanded i cannot
@@alperiodt we love a fighter! especially if they look like they've taken a few punches right in the face! Evans fits the bill!
An epic 🎾 match 🙌 👏
Karen ❤💙🧡 Katchanov
He's katching L's
Dan Evans is the only professional tennis player I know that wears ankle socks :)
The hands of the gods at work here
Mental toughness!
wow unbelievable.
nah 15-40 0-4 down Is Absolutely Crazy
10:07 . Slice service winner
You are sooo annoying with the Naomi Osaka commercial. Give us a break!
I know!!!!!!!!!! I hate her.
Exactly. Advertising someone ranked 88 that much, is just too much. 😕
She is black!
Woke commercial !!! Coco and Osaka

Great match 👍😍
Interesting that Evans did not played any backhand with a topspin from this point to the end of the match

かっこいいな
Wow!
Que partido como lo gano Evan se notava que estava mas fuerte sicologicamente que Cachanov el calor favorecio al ingles
You can see both are injured,suffering.. Evans with lumbar and gluteus problems and Chachanov putting ice on both hamstrings
I think the crowd just wanted to see a crazy comebck like this
He basically got bageled, worse than even getting bageled 6-0. That's getting infect his brain for a while. PTSD for sure.
Khachanov was injured for the last part of the 5th set. I don't know what his injury was but he could barely move.
He was completely exhausted, they aldready played almost 5 hours for the first 4 sets alone😳🤯

no effing way!
Still far shorter than John isner in Wimbledon.
Khachanov is not fit even for tennis, he was really slow, Evans deserved the win, I have no doubt he could play like that 2 more hours.
Walker Larry Thompson Patricia Gonzalez Charles
Why do Evans clothes look too small?
How long was the match?
5 hours and 35 minutes!

The most boring long match in US Open history!
why no comments about the male grunting sounds in this?
