    The Buzz Word for any new fighting game that comes out is TIER LIST - Everybody wants to know who the BEST & WORST character is. I never really cared much for those types of rankings. And on top of that, TEKKEN 8 is a type of game where it doesn't really matter. Every character can win and be successful. Most of your success in the game will likely rely on whether or not their tools/moves are fit for YOUR fighting game style, instead of where they rank on a chart.
    I decided to rank all of the characters in order of EASE OF USE. Which characters are hard to use? Which characters are easy to use? Within each tier/row of rankings, different factors separate one character from another, and that's what I spend this video discussing with my Twitch stream. I hope you enjoy!

      @@datguy6745 Yeah T8 Yoshi can be played pretty effectively with just fundamentals and few moves, but I think by doing so you're seriously handicapping yourself and might as well just play a character that's more tuned for that, Drag or something. Plus his frames and poking is relatively weak still, he does kinda get forced into disrupting the normal Tekken rules.
      It's when you gotta turn those disruptive aspects of Yoshi into something effective that it gets hairy very quickly imo.

    If anyone new is reading this, listen to Anakin learn one of the easy/top 5 characters to actually get a grasp the game first. While some characters are easier than others in Tekken, none of them are easy to optimize and master. You'll never run out of things to improve on and some harder characters' kits are implausible to fully optimize.
    Learning the game playing Kazuya compared to Victor is like night and day. On Kazuya I tend to tunnel vision hard on the execution and would be completely blind to the rest of the game. While I'm on Victor execution is automatic, I don't have to use any concentration on it and thus I can instead use all of it on spacing, mind games, reactions, defense and learning my opponent's tendencies.

    • @VarsityAthlete04
      @VarsityAthlete04 3 місяці тому +3

      I learned Victor because hes cool.

    • @ohanski
      @ohanski 3 місяці тому +2

      When it comes to mishina execution you just gotta be comfy with wavu and all will be good even if you get a WGF its still good if you use it as a whiff punish while doing spacing,mind games,reactions,defense and ofcourse sometimes youll get a EWGF and then you roll em. Other strong moves for spacing come from wavu so gotta get good at that to have a decent mishima. (eg. demon paw is so much stronger from a wavedash compared to neutral)

    • @jahmilly937
      @jahmilly937 3 місяці тому +14

      Just play whoever looks cool lol. try out everyone.. Kazuya was my first main and I disagree that execution is a big deal for beginners. It was hard learning to play solid tekken at the time with bad electrics and discouraging at times but if you enjoy the game enough you'll be able to push past the execution barrier and learn any character so imo just play whoever looks cool and is fun to play for you

      Absolutely no, i ve seen so many people in blue and purple ranks that play absolutely terrible in those ranks but they somehow made it and its always the same character (drag, feng, azu, ling, victor, jun, alisa and devil jin). Those are the guys you wonder how you lost the round or the game, and then you kinda have to focus and let them lose against themselves.

    I would still put Kazuya as the hardest even though I main Yoshi myself, been playing him since T6 and I have to say that T8 Yoshi is the strongest so far. More than T7 where he really relies on Gimmicks and 50/50 on walls because of his bad fundamentals and lackluster damage.
    Additionally, a big influx of Yoshi players in T8 just spam 3, 1(+7 on Block) into F1+2 or 4, Yoshi never had that strong 50/50 where he forces you to guess without walls before T8. Eyemusician also said the same thing but having a strong move is not necessarily a bad thing, I mean hey, who wouldn't want their main to be stronger?
    Plus, he hits so freaking hard now, add it to the fact that he still has 50/50 on walls and great Okizemes, that damage buff is just a blessing.

I would definitely put Kazuya lower since he has to launch -15 and lower with electric. Which makes playing defence really hard, compared to the rest of the cast. I think King maybe has a place in top 5 easiest depending on what your goals are. You can easily get away with nothing WR 2+4s a simple combo off of u/f + 4 such as: u/f + 4, 2+4, WR 2+4 and using your b+3 and u/f+3+4 armored moves all the way up into the red ranks but as soon as you get to purple ranks it's gonna be much harder to win because you won't get raw WR 2+4 anymore because people at those ranks know how to break it, they're not going to fall for u/f+3+4, f, throw nearly as often and they're going to start actually punishing you for whiffed u/f + 4. He's definitely not easy if you wanna play against good players but he's definitely easy to beat a majority of players.

      @@joinmeng I've been maining him since the beginning of T7. His execution is easy and it's not difficult to utilize his whole kit once you understand it. When much of your gameplan is confusing the opponent and making them guess, you're skipping the more difficult part of the game which is learning how to defend. He's a knowledge check character and a newcomer can easily make it to purple ranks with him without ever learning how to defend properly. He can be more difficult to play in the much higher ranks where people know the match up, but still I find Mishimas far more difficult.

She’s one of the hardest characters to get round comebacks with and can get clipped when trying to be the aggressor. Since its a universal tierlist I'd agree, but in general as a noob I feel like all of the mishimas (minus Jin maybe?) should go to closer the bottom to be more in the "can be harder" category since to play them very well you need a lot of execution on wavedash, dash, ss electrics/cancels into other options and if you accidentally misinput your electric you can just lose the round and its surprising how often if happens even to very good players where they get a D2 trying to pewgf or they miss the 2nd electric in a combo on Kaz/Reina for example.
    Then again I can see why they are easier than expected, especially Reina, Jin they both have a lot of tools to win a round even without executing a single electric or hell sweep while DJ and Kazuya relies heavily being able to use these moves.
    Though its weird because i always found DJ electrics less pressure since using the shortcut makes it easier to mess it up by a frame where you dont even get a god fist just fumble your whole execution.
