Absolute Masterpiece !!! A perfect mix between 70's "King Crimson" prog style and 50's Jazz !!! One of the most incredible band right now. Musically speaking, they're ahead of their time.
they are all trying their damndest to outolay each other. god i love this band. they all play off each other. it must be fun creating this music. i have been a decades old fan.
Its like watching a band about to fall off a cliff and somebody will say "okay, lets start again" but theyte never once in danger because theyve tread this same path for years and theyre just walkong it for your entertainment.
Appreciate this beautiful performance for what it is. Don't judge it based on your personal preference but for the raw musicianship that is displayed. Keep rocking on Deerhoof because you will always have my support.
+Peter Collin It's just the and of 1, the and of 4, and the and of 3 on the next measure in a 2 measure phrase. just repeat that and you have that part.
Anyone know what guitars those are? Looks like Ed is playing his 1981 the Paul. If so, what version is John playing? Also, I wonder what pickups those both have,
You're right about Ed's The Paul. I think John is playing a Les Paul standard. Both humbucker guitars. But hey: ua-cam.com/video/L0CabzJC0BU/v-deo.html&ab_channel=MusicisWin
the angular complexity, starts and stops, non standard time signatures and changes, augmented and minor keys, and dissonance are way beyond regular 4/4 major key of C 'pop'. hallmarks of mathrock.
that playing around with the odd time signatures and the snappy notes really make me think of math rock, i always thought noise pop has more emphasis on texture, rather than complex structure and rhythms
Kudos to the sound engineer for this session. It sounds really alive and suitably rough/clean. Love it.
a-fucking-men g
Best to ever capture them, better than the album sound, you said it exactly
Agreed - this remains here in the future of 2022 one of the finest examples of how to properly record this type of band live
I wish my basement had a Deerhoof! Best basement ever!
I watch this everyday
this band just looks like they are having so much fun! I love it!
Can we just stop and acknowledge how much they are having.
Fun? They sure do.
They are having alot!!

As far as live music goes, this is one of the best on youtube for sure.
all the musicians are fantastic but that drummer is a beast !
DoktorSick. Greg Saunier is a golden god!
Dude tuned his snare without even listening to it. He uses cymbals as hats he’s like his own level of skill.
He is an animal :}
Proof if it were needed that a kit the size of a planet is not required.
@@WAST3D He is Animal
never has a song been more perfect or perfectly performed
The timing of the entire band is insane. Fantastic. The fact that they can pull it together through most parts of this is incredible.
The definition of what a band should be.
Greg drums like a conductor. I mean that in a good way.
Oh my, what a lovely comment. I was thinking the same.
playing for each other and loving it. great band, artists and performers!

I love that drummer so much.
incredibly performed masterpiece !!!
i love them so much it hurts
I get a kick out of 3:22 to 3:48 And as if it wasn't syncopated enough, Greg doubles the subdivision at 3:42 and syncopates that too.
axiomizer what does this even mean?

Robert Usher that was really cool of you, thanks for that man
@@rjwusher What a great explanation that is :-)
haha Ed got a kick out of it.
how can you not love this???
Best band ever
Yowza! Yowza! How many times I watch this now? A few, friends, a few.
Its like watching a band about to fall off a cliff and somebody will say "okay, lets start again" but theyte never once in danger because theyve tread this same path for years and theyre just walkong it for your entertainment.
I could feel that drum
So good
That intro, so sick!
Deerhoof where have u been all my life?....
That drummer, holy shit.
Greg's face at the beginning kills me every time lol
I love the guitarists faces
Greg is clearly ready to play Animal in a live-action Muppet movie.
I love Deerhoof
Amazing!
GREG'S FACE AT THE BEGINNING
they look around at the end like 'of course the song is over...'
Incredible gutsy awesomeness
Haha at 1:25 when everyone starts doing the twist and laughing
arghhhhhh I keep missing this band... they are like a new wave Beefheart with cute vocals.... brilliant underrated band, I blame CNN and the BBC
ZaraMoonVideos much more harmonically safe than beefheart
i do get the beefheart references but the vocals take it in a whole different direction.
If you love this song and performance, I think we could be friends.
Ok let's do it. It's utterly mind blowing right?

thnx for that, cause that's the only vid of that session in these times!
Most magical band since the magic band.
who are the twenty thumbs down? How can they exist?. Is it a dream?
I've tried counting it out. How the FUCK do they know when to hit those notes?
+Peter Collin It's just the and of 1, the and of 4, and the and of 3 on the next measure in a 2 measure phrase. just repeat that and you have that part.
Oh my.
the guitarist with the black hair gives off serious martin cabello vibes
Still enjoying in 2021!
♥♥♥♥♥
King Crimson style !
I would LOVE to rock out with them.
why yes hello I’m back for the 1000th time
Hi there!

If that's not awesome I don't know what is.
"Good Like It Is"
Haha i love you
shitthey'regood!
pop mathrock ftw.
I always thought of them as noise pop but to each their own
the angular complexity, starts and stops, non standard time signatures and changes, augmented and minor keys, and dissonance are way beyond regular 4/4 major key of C 'pop'. hallmarks of mathrock.
that playing around with the odd time signatures and the snappy notes really make me think of math rock, i always thought noise pop has more emphasis on texture, rather than complex structure and rhythms
ma si There isn't much emphasis on text here to be honest
Cuz ur doin shit... That's fuking awesome
En concert chez nous ce soir Aiiie aiiie
For the love of god, somebody scrape the audio before it gets deleted!
Slightly reminiscent of Yoko onos plastic Ono band
No keyboard 😕
Instrumental is better?
sam winchester on drums
Deerhoof is so edgy.
Wym? They all look like high school band nerds lol
Would be better with a vocal track.
nah
yeah nah
