Mike Porchia hi! I found this song by accident and I instantly loved it, perhaps because its so different than songs that are currently playing on the radio which I so deeply despised (no offense!). The instrumental, the way the vocalists sing it, the metaphor lyrics are what makes it so unique. Its a great song!

This is just an amazing work of poetry. The soft gentle and yet agonizing angst that intelligent spirits encounter is well captured...very elegant and simple....love is a light and ephemeral and fickle and cruel thing....but it is, for all its ephemeral characteristics, real and magnificent and ultimately sad...nothing lasts forever not even the stars....
Nice that. The song made me think of how something pure like love can decay and become buried when we let life and conflicting feelings get in the way
any time i listen to this song it gets stuck in my head for days!
you have to wonder if they had made music for the last 20 years just how many more unfathomably amazing songs they would have realeased, but im so greatfull they went back and knocked out this masterpeice

@@lilbabytears Members of Slowdive were active in Mojave 3 and Neil Halstead released several solo albums. The Slowdive reunion album is better than any of that stuff but it's not like they were all dark the whole time.

What a beautiful song.....their guitars cry in such a unique way that drown us within a celestial supernova. Thank you so much kexp and bless you slowdive!!! This band still is on a whole another level...this is signature sound at its essence.
Slowdive showing us how beautiful reverb could be...holy shit....since 1989...im stuck on this live version. It's actually better than the studio. Kexp along with slowdive created magic and I thank everyone for that. So extremely grateful 🙏what blows my mind is that on this track especially you can hear the band jam. Beyond excellence...to me this song is perfection and timeless. The mix on this where you can listen to each instrument individually is nothing short of brilliant.

It’s clearly “blizzard” not “buzzard “ in the first line which makes sense lyrically and metaphorically.

Very nice performance by Slowdive. So, I guess they toured the USA and I wasn't paying attention, and I missed them. Have only myself to blame. Kudos to SD for producing such a fantastic album after > 2 decades. I bought it as soon as I found out, and I'm thrilled.

Love Slowdive and this song - but Mr Suggs - WTF if up with Neil's mic being so low? you cant hear his vocal at all. Rachel's vocal is a whisper and it drowns him out.
i think it sounds good, considering the spaced out dreamy vibe they're going for.

It's intentional. He wants the vocals to sit more in to the mix.
Agreed about the general laid back dreamscape approach, but even so the guitar is waaay too present and Rachel is for sure too low, you can hear her being brought up into the mix as the song goes on, so that's not great, should be set in soundcheck for a band of Slowdive's level, non?
