    Few things in life sound better than an acoustic bass in this setting and a man who definitely knows his way around a fretboard! Wow!

    I've been a fan of REO Speedwagon for over four decades.
    I've also been playing and singing this acoustic for about the same length of time. I started singing and playing it with a rock band I fronted in California before I joined the military, but then I had to play it without a band for my guys. They all loved it acoustic, so when I got out, I just kept doing it live alone.
    Hearing these guys do it is such a pleasure.

    This is great a bluesy version I was REO Speedwagon a few year ago at the Ohio State Fair, when they were starting a come back it was awsome concert. They are one of the best 70's band. :-)

    This is a very jazzy "Riding The Storm Out" Even through all those different chords I essentially hear it as a song in the key of C going from 6mAm to 5G to 4F and 1C. My ear is so much into the domain of Major and Minor chords that I still love the Rock version of this song better. It's much easier for me to follow solid major and minor chords than other voiciings

    The main thing that songs had in our day was what's called a Mantra. This causes the mind to remember a lyric or title by repeating a melody and a lyric. Today's music is reproduced with non instrumental sounds. Which is depressing

      @regionvoices6607 8 років тому

      +sploofmonkey Sorry but I have to laugh. IDK how old you are but I can say with confidence that I was listening to REO longer then most of you have been around. Kevin Cronin and Gary Richrath were just a club band when I knew them. Yes I know this isn't the original recording😃

    dude: your 8th grade english teacher called me and said to tell you the word is"THEIR" I'm sorry, I can't help it; my english lit degree forces me to point this out! you're right about the band: in their "Salad Days", they had a show well worth the price of a ticket, unless you sneaked in free as I was known to do on occasion

    In my opinion, way better than the electro rock version because one gets to the heart message of the song - modern city life is hard get back to nature that is where God can be met tete a tete. Could be totally awesome if the drummer was not put on leash by just playing the bongos and used his kitty.
