This is their first big one and an '80s classic.I also love 'Situation" that's in the same irresistble dance mood similar to 'Don't GOOOO". Alison's mouth was a loudspeaker and could sing all the blues catalogue long before the likes of Adele and the rest, not to mention that her pipes could sent a whole flock of some of today's autotuned divas to hide in shame and never to comeback.
She has lost a huge amount of weight She still has this unique voice. She has sung a few years ago at a top fashion show. Look it up She is still wonderful❤❤( Think it might have been Burberry)
Love Alison Moyet - in Yazoo and solo. Saw her live a few years ago - the show was brilliant. Have you ever heard Only You sung by The Flying Pickets? 1980's acapella group - the original acapella group!
G'day it's Steven from down under again Thank you for the trip down memory lane, I haven't heard this song in many years, the , lead singer Alison Moyet went solo after Yazoo ended. I have to back to my album and CD collection to find more Yazoo songs.
🇬🇧 "Invisible" by Alison Moyet is my favourite. The music industry treated Alison terribly back then, you see, she didn't have right figure in their eyes! So she stopped performing. Yep they did that. But Alison is a very strong (& special) lady. It took her a while but she's back performing, and she still has that beautiful voice, she can still belt em out. I really hope you give "Invisible" a couple of minutes of your time. ❤🎼
Thanks Dereck, this is truly one of the most beautiful songs ever written, but then all of Yazoo's work is outstanding (and yet sadly underrated/forgotten?) Can you please react to Kim Wilde's Can't Get Enough of Your Love? I think you will love it! PS - Just saw Kim Wilde live over the weekend, she's still rocking as much as ever at 63 :D
You should take a listen to the b-side of this one. Situation One of the most popular and most played b-sides ever. It has very special keyboard arrangement, it is so good. You will just lov it.
Back in 1982, the blend of a warm bluesy vocal with a brittle synth track was a new move. Electronic music of the era was exciting but it didn't often get emotional. Yazoo broke some ground in that respect. Eurythmics came soon after, offering another bluesy/emotion/electro fusion. Yazoo's 1983 track, Ode To Boy, is a stunner too. Check it out.
It’s Ya-zoo - and for an incredible ballad by them, listen to ‘Midnight’. Vince had just left DM. He offered this song to them cause he wanted to keep his songwriting contract. They declined it.
I loved Alison Moyet! I thought she was the coolest. In 1985 she shocked us by covering Billie Holliday’s “That Ole’ Devil Called Love.” I so think you would enjoy reviewing that one.
Persoally i like it far better than the original.Just my taste.Alf did it fantastic and that was a chance for newcomers to get to know this song back in the '80s and made it a good hit(UK no2 btw)
Alison sang this at the Burbery show in 2016, the joy on her face is so nice to watch. DERECK Sir, check out some Hazel O'Conner, less hits but the most talented lady of that era alongside Kate Bush
Cool reaction video ! Dereck should react to : "2 Belgen - Lena" I'm pretty sure he'll love it ! Thumbs ip if you want him to react to that song please !
Totally different version since it's accapella(!) but still good in a different light.Shows what a good song this is as well as the songwritter who wrote it, Vince Clarke.
One of the most beautiful songs of the 80's! Alison Moyet is just a fantastic singer!!!

A truly beautiful song.
Quite the Anthem for anyone with a broken heart in 1982😂♥️ ”And all I ever kneeeeeew. Only you”😭😂😭
I recommend "Love Resurrection". From her solo career I think it is.
Yes,defenitely!
yes that's a fantastic tune.
She has lost a huge amount of weight

"ALF" Alyson Moyet is still going strong. Vince Clarke founder member of Depeche Mode and Erasure. Both from Basildon, Essex, UK.
PLEASE react to their "Nobodys Diary" its a masterpiece
Also Alison still sounds the same 40 years later. Upstairs At Erics is probably the 2nd best album of the 80s.
Absolute choice, really BIG synth son!
You should take a listen to the b-side of this one. Situation

A gem 😊
The band name is pronounced “Yaz - Zoo” btw. In the US they were simply known as Yaz

Great song. Dereck, just listening to a bunch of your reactions, and it's time for you to do Big In Japan by Alphaville.
Agreed!
Imagine getting this to number 2 in August 1982, only for a cover by a barbershop quartet to get Christmas Number One a few months later 😅!
Le son des premiers albums de Depeche Mode !
I really enjoy the acapella version of this by The Flying Pickets.

He already reacted to Midnight and loved it.
Kylie and James Cordon did a ballad version of this song. It’s quite good even though James gets a bad wrap 😂

hi dereck, if you want to listen to music with a late 90s sound, I recommend la manivelle from the group wazoo, it's a good little delirium
she can sing Adel under the table
The Flying Pickets version is brilliant as well.
Totally different version since it's accapella(!) but still good in a different light.Shows what a good song this is as well as the songwritter who wrote it, Vince Clarke.
