She's in training and getting paid while she's sitting there while her trainer is getting paid by the mile not getting paid to sit. Getting trained is easy and fun until you're on your own the first year. Hope she makes it and yes its nice to see how positive she is. Hope to see her out there someday.
Prayers to our truckers 🙏🏾 I work for a postal trucking company and we haul the mail for USPS. Our trailers are always very light. Going through a high wind area like WY or a snow packed area like MT or WA is very life threatening. I pray everyday for the safety of our people ❤️

And sadly the city council in North Bend wants to get rid of that truck stop. Along with that there's only about 4 or 5 truck stops between Marysville and Tumwater on I5. But they want us to be legal.
I'm just south of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, so about 4 hours away and we just got over a foot today on top of the foot and a half that we had, and supposed to get about another 18" by Saturday.
You did this last weekend lol. I got out of WA at the start of that mess. From Quincy, WA to Missoula was complete snow wasteland. then cleared up except for Montanas 2 snowplows being incapable or unwilling to clear the left lane for most of the state.
And more feet of snow were forcasted today for the cascades. This is great for drought conditions and for next spring/summer. But terrifying for drivers and dissapointing for everyone east of the cascades with stores that are out of nearly everything.

They decided to plow only after a certain amount of snow and to make everyone use chains. Then when the snow stopped they clear the pass. Avalanche danger is a different matter though. They will not plow if the threat of an avalanche is too high. they will wait untill the slide areas are either blasted or declared safe.

And on the other side of that coin..If we don't get the needed snowpack to fill the reservoirs, so agriculture can be grown, the price of food increases more because there is less food grown in the Columbia Basin..Thank the snow gods for their bounty..Californians are.....

The company makes money by the trucks moving and making their deliveries. Trucks sitting idle burning fuel are not profitable. Yes, they are burning fuel idling for going on four days now.

Not all truckers are self employed. Brother Trucked for 30 years. Expenses are certainly expensive. I get pissed when I see cars jumping in front of a trucker or will not let them get over a lane, Truckers have a reason to be out in weather unlike many cars/pickups. Road with brother a few times east to west, my respect is high for what they endure everyday, not just a few inconvenienced days.

That day I took a detour through Oregon and CA to NV i80. Next day I stock in WY for 48 hours. So I delivered only one load to Michigan on that week. Monday to Monday. I regret that I took worthless detour instead of waiting one day.

Na. Its good 90% of the time. And, it IS one of the most beautiful drives in the country between Ellensburg and North Bend. I drove it 3-4 times a week for two years. Leaving eastside dropping a can in Seattle and heading back to eastside same day. Average eight hour day.

Washington state is seriously lacking in enough truckstops with adequate parking along 1-90. That TA truck stop fills up by 12noon.
