    Folks, when you drive your car you are driving it through a sand blaster. Driving it through the air on freeways that is full of dust and dirt being kicked up by all the other cars. Stay away from all driving situations involving dirt and dust and save your paint. Just use the buses or trains or Uber and save your paint. And god forbid if you ever get behind another car on a dirt road just stop and wait fro 10 minutes while the dust settles before you proceed.

    The cordless blower is a good option if you are using it where no power point and you dont need a power cord. Ive just brought a Metro Vac and it is mounted at chest height on garage wall with the original 10 ft hose and 30ft hose together. Great to also use as garage and driveway leaf blower now. Length of hose more than enough. The vac is mounted with the filter up as the wall bracket fits to that end. I put a micro fibre towel over it to keep the dust off and when using it I just take it off. Let the unit run for a bit and then start on car. Theres always cheaper alterntatives. Anyway for now the MetroVac blower is great for me.

  • @vwdavy613
    @vwdavy613 5 років тому +2

    The Metro Vac has a controlled speed of air that is heated. The air moves the water as well as evaporates it. It has a neoprene hose and head attachment that will not mar any surface.
    A leaf blower is an accident waiting to happen, corded or battery powered.

    $20 mini leaf blower from Amazon was one of my greatest finds. Obviously it does not have really high CFM output but it's great from drying engines, wheels and forcing water out of crevices. Oh, and never use a gas blower people....exhaust fumes.

    I love drying my car with the Worx Blower Scott recommended. And it was only $50. This would be a great gift, but it's too expensive just to get rid of the cord. Maybe for the professional detailer.

    Not that I'm a metro vac fan, I personally use a leaf blower. While I get the argument about dirt on the driveway. The driveway is wet from just washing and rinsing the car. You're not going to really going to be picking up much dirt from the ground at that point.

    Start at 4:00 for his answer. I prefer the maneuverability of the 29 foot Bigboi Pro and like to do all my cars without charging or holding a heavy blower, especially one that has a metal tip. Soft tips are much safer. The filter isn’t a hepa filter by any means... I don’t drive 179 MPH, but the “filtered” air is nice to have from the nozzle to the car. The “air mixing” with the forced is negligible. Right tool for the job as the professionals say who didn’t get a sponsor for their video.

    I like your opinion Scott about the Masterblaster. I own one, and though I don't currently use it I can see your points on it.
    I do want to note out that the "machine bumping into the car, or the hose" aren't really gonna happen. Atleast not in my situation because I have I think 20-30ft of hose? Whatever the Masterblaster Revolution comes with.
    Either way, an electric leaf blower is a better tool then the masterblaster for mobile work.

    In my opinion all the leaf blowers like this one and similar ones (i have an ego 56v with the turbo - 530cfm) that have that big opening is that they have no pressure. Yea the CFM is high but that has little to do with the ability to quickly push the water off a car and out of the cracks, in my experience. It's not about the volume it outputs. I dont know why anyone would go with anything other than a leaf blower like the toro (www.amazon.com/dp/B00EL1UPXG/ref=twister_B00LVVYJUO?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) which has a very small output opening. Yes its pretty powerful but most important, it has pressure behind it. Plus it's $50 (give or take). It has the power of an air gun but it's even faster at drying than an air gun. I'd take the $50 toro any day over the $200 530cfm blower i have, to dry a car. For blowing lawn debris that may be a different story.

    $200? I'll rather spend that kind of money on the Metro-vac. Leaf blowers are not designed for precise use within inches of a car's surface since they can be hard to control. I used to use a corded blower and found that it was too easy to hit the car with the nozzle unless I used two hands and was very careful. I replaced it with a Metro-vac when the blower died. This one is worse than my old one since it has a metal tip. A friend of mine uses a corded blower he bought for less than $50 because he didn't want to pay the money for a Metro-vac. For that price it's worth taking his time to be very careful when using it around his car.

    I like your videos but you are not taking in to consideration that the air you are blowing and accelerating into the paint is unfiltered and you’re taking the dust particles an accelerated into the paint. The ambient air gets pushed out of the way of a high velocity air and doesn’t actually make contact with any paint. Same principle when you’re using a leaf blower to push leaves out of the way the hot air pushes the leaves around everywhere it’s the same what the ambient air is pushed out. But you do have a valid point that the lower collection of the air is introducing additional dirt.

    Hey I live in Keller, Texas. How much would you charge to fully detail a 2006 BMW 330i?

    Just use distilled water and let the sun do the drying :)

    That can't beat the 600CFM of the Worx WG520 at about $50 (Amazon) and I bet the Worx weights a lot less since it doesn't have batteries.
    Also, it sounds louder than the Worx.

      @Ebruhhk 5 років тому

      MucaroBoricua would you recomend that one?? Wg520 by worx. Im looking for a good car dryer thats reliable snd strong. But not tryna break the budget

    • @MucaroBoricua
      @MucaroBoricua 5 років тому

      @@Ebruhhk, Definitely, get the WG520. It has a cord but if you use a power washer, you know how to deal with that. And it will provide consistent power, unlike battery blowers.
      Even Scott recommends the WG520 in a video he shot in July 29, 2017, just two weeks before this video.
      Apparently he was looking into drying blower alternatives at that time. The WG520 is the corded blower he recommended and this one is the cordless blower he recommended.

    How much dust can you blow onto the car if the ground is wet anyway?

      Alex S. Well the better question is, do you want to keep an electrical device sitting in puddles of water surrounding your vehicle??
      Something to think about as well, that's if you're a critical thinker:)

      He seems to like the Worx better only because of it's construction (softer plastic) and due to it not running out of power if he has to use the "turbo button" too often.

      Knife Nut
      At the 1:40 point he makes mention of his worx review "the blower that I use"
      In my opinion that answers the question.
      If I have traumatized ms.angel in anyway I sincerely apologise.
      But what's 34 seconds between friends???

    This will also push any dust and debris floating through the air onto your car, not a smart way to dry. This will scratch the car

    Earmuffs? Really? If there is no wax or a sealant on the car get your rag out and dry it. Owner doesn’t care about protecting paint.

    Why pros using blowers and not just a good quality large MF towel??? It is safer for the paint and quicker???? Al the.industry advertize those large hight abzorve MF towels.

    • @bconiswhattheycallme
      @bconiswhattheycallme 6 років тому +1

      marios kosmidhs I have the Griots drying towel. It is $40 and I believe the best on the market. It still won't get into logo and door handle cracks, which drip after you dried the car. Use a blower to get in cracks and get the majority off, the use MF to finish.

    • @thomascarter2922
      @thomascarter2922 5 років тому +1

      I don't really think it is safer! When you hand dry your car you are drying it using FRICTION! Friction with a little dirt or anything will scratch the car! Not any safer, maybe LESS safer than blow drying it! No FRICTION!!! It is TOUCHLESS!!
