    Which springs did you use because I don't see a listing on the web sight concerning the Deputy? Can you post the part numbers on the springs? Thanks, Charlie Thanks for the video

      I purchased it from Midway USA.
      Product #: 744007
      Manufacturer #: 32327
      UPC #: 197706744007
      This is the kit I installed on both of my deputies.

    I don’t see many reviews on the Taurus deputy . How are they? Are they reliable ? I’m lookin into gettin my first single action revolver in 357 and i love the look and price of the deputy lmk if that would be a good first purchase or maybe some other recommendations. Thank you !

      They are put together with tight tolerances. I have done some work to them for competition, but right out of the box they were really impressive. I would recommend them for sure. I have had a few other makes and these stack up well to Ruger and Cimmeron. I am a fan of Pietta. They are also great guns. To get started you would not go wrong with Taurus.

      Thanks for posting this!! Good video!! Couple of questions for ya…. One, will any old Colt SAA style standard grips fit these Taurus Deputy’s? And Two…. Is that a blued finish that comes on these?

      I thought a 2nd gen Colt grip would fit but no luck. I also tried grips off my Pietta and Uberti guns, nope. Gave up after a Taylors import wouldn't work.

    How does the front sight appear to be affixed? Silver solder, like traditional SAA's?
    Does the transfer bar add much complexity to the internals?

    • @Eltoroblancosass
      @Eltoroblancosass  Місяць тому +1

      The front sight is most likely silver soldered. With the black finish on it, it does cover up. As a side note the finish has been holding up really well considering the amount of use they get in competition. As for the transfer bar, I have had no problems with it being in the way for cleaning, maintenance or use. Honestly I don’t even notice it.

    I have to admit, im torn between one of these and a ruger new vaquero. Id want a 4 3/4 inch barrel model though as i plan to pack it for certain things like hunting, goin on the trails. Might even daily carry in the winter.

    • @Eltoroblancosass
      @Eltoroblancosass  4 місяці тому

      They are both good. The big difference is in size. The Ruger has a lot of bulk. The tang and cylinder ect.You can’t go wrong with either one. I will say it’s harder to find a deputy in 4 3/4 than a Ruger. There are a lot of places sold out and back ordered especially for the 357. The price point on a Ruger is a few hundred dollars more. Out of the box with no mods I do think Taurus has it. I have tons of friends with slicked up Rugers and they are super great guns. I’d say, before you decided. Put both of them in your hand. You will feel what you like better.

      @@Eltoroblancosass I'll do just that. I've looked at the Ubertis as well and just messed with one at bass pro yesterday. It was a 45 with the 5.5 inch barrel and that was nice I'll admit. Problem is, I want something fast and quick on the draw and I k ow a shorter barrel is better for that. At least the historical text and Cowboy action info I've read says as such. I'm extremely new to single sixes. Weight isn't really that big of a deal to me, but I know the ruger will be heavier. I'm also curious in that regard as to which one can handle things like bear loads and defensive ammunition. I also plan to have it as my backup pistol in my center console of my truck as well. Faster to get to than me rifle or my daily carry Smith and Wesson m&p9 m2.0 compact. I think for me now, it's a toss up between the funness of having an authentic and safe to carry with six rounds 4 click colt replica. And a classically designed yet sturdily built workhorse that's equally as safe to carry.

      @@Eltoroblancosass the new vaquero is not bulkier than the deputy. They are both built on the same size frame as colt specs. It's the old vaquero that is the bulkier pistol

    What does a spring get do for your revolver ?

    • @Eltoroblancosass
      @Eltoroblancosass  2 місяці тому +2

      The kit I got came with the lighter trigger spring so the trigger is much lighter. It has the ejector spring wich is lighter for kicking spent cartridges out and the cylinder lock spring. It just lightens up the lock on the cylinder rod lock. Honestly the trigger spring with some polishing and cleaning up the action is what makes it. The second one I did all I changed was the trigger spring and smithed a little.

    Before I commit to getting a Deputy...does anyone know about any holsters, or grips for it??

    • @Eltoroblancosass
      @Eltoroblancosass  2 місяці тому

      Holsters are easy. Any colt 1873 holster fits them. You can get them on amazon,eBay, Etsy ect… the grips however the only place to get them I know of is Arizona grips. They are the only ones that make them specifically for a deputy.

      The new ones do the old ones with more bulk are a little tighter. If your interested I have a leather guy that can make you holsters ect if your looking for something special. FYI he is half or more less than most people and it’s hand made.
