  • Man, this game is incredible. If you haven't played it, definitely give it a shot. It's like the best possible combination of Half-Life and Doom 3, with a bit of F.E.A.R. mixed in, all somehow put together in a GZDoom game. If you've seen those retro-style shooters that play like games from the 90's, this one is kind of like that, except it plays more like the best games from the early 2000's.
I've been active in this game's community for as long as it's been around, and I don't plan on going anywhere any time soon. Obviously, I still need some practice if I want to do perfect speedruns in the future, but I'm pretty happy with this time right now. The movement and combat is complex enough that I could spend hours and hours optimizing every little detail of this game without getting bored.
Anyway, I think I want to continue optimizing Any% first, then move on to the harder difficulty, then 100% after that. The hardest difficulty totally changes the way you have to play the game, and there's even a crazy difficulty mode beyond that, where the game treats itself like one of those Kaizo Super Mario World ROM Hacks. It's really crazy, and I'd love to give it a shot someday! -- Watch live at / fitterspace

Thanks! I plan to do speedruns on the harder difficulties, too, as well as 100% runs. I'll get to it one day. There's just so much you can do in this game, that it's hard to find time for speedruns.

I get it, didn't try easy diff and assumed you would get extra ammo and parts and trivialize most encounters, this was actually really impressive and enjoyable!

@@francesco3772 Thanks! I plan to do more Ensign speedruns over the next couple of days, because a couple of new skips have been found that speed things up a lot. I'm thinking sub 50 minutes should happen pretty soon. Once the dust settles, I'll move on to other categories.
