  • 007: Nightfire is one of the rare first-person shooters that has a great scoring system that adds that much more replay value to the game. However, it has one critical flaw that speedrunners take advantage of to earn platinum medals with ease.

Also two things to note, the platinum medal requirement isn't 1 million on every level, some levels it's 1.25 million and i think there are others with a lower requirement, As for the stealth rating yeah maybe one day we should look into that

lastly also, exchange gold skip, you have to basically miss 0 shots and take almost no damage, this is extremely difficult in the third section due to the lag and the awkward angles you have to shoot people at and you have to go for headshots due to the lack of autoaim and damage from your gun

I always assumed it needed the tokens because of some idea of a 'scavenger hunt' or something -- especially since you "had" to beat the level once. I dont think I ever got the plat without the tokens in my plays. Amazing game

I'm definitely interested to hear how that Stealth rating works because I frankly still don't understand how the heck it works, especially when every on foot mission has places where you're forcibly spotted.

Thanks! Honestly, I don't know how it works, either. But I plan on looking into it one of these days.

Definitely give it another playthrough! It’s a pretty short game you can beat in under a day, but it has a lot of replay value.

@@FitterSpace I remember playing it on my old PS2 hooked up to one of those box shaped TVs in my mum’s room as a kid and being absolutely god awful at that one level where you have to sneak through the skyscraper at night, but nonetheless loving cutting through wires with the laser watch. It’s very very nostalgic for me.

Will you do a TAS on 100% Nightfire?

    • @FitterSpace

Honestly, probably not. The main reason is that the any% TAS that already exists gets most of the platinum medals anyway, and the only platinum medals left over are the ones in the autoscroller levels. The closest thing to a 100% TAS is All Tokens, which ignore score and collects all of the 007 tokens anyway, resulting in a much more interesting TAS, in my opinion.
