So many unfold stories could be used in other Gears of War Games, i mean 17 Years of war is insane.
Facts, they could easily create a prequel trilogy between 1 A.E. and the Fall of Ephyra in 10 A.E. when Marcus is sent to prison

Imagine if planet Sera in Gears of War is just another lost human world in the same universe as Warhammer 40K. Everyone in COG is on their last leg, Jacinto is on the verge of collapse and then suddenly unknown space vessels descend from skies and the you pods making landfall. Next thing you know Adeptus Astartes are ripping and tearing the Locus apart like they were made nothing
I don't know much about Warhammer 40K, but that sounds pretty badass.
@@dougsmith6262it would definitely be badass, but to give you more of an idea of what the human Imperium in that universe is like: after the Locust were destroyed, the humans on Sera would either have to immediately recognize the authority of the Imperium and start paying them tithe, or they would also too just be destroyed lol.

The Locust war and the Zeon/Federation wars from gundam are the only 2 sci-fi conflicts I love/adore that haven't been ruined by its sequels. Love seeing this conflict covered

@ulfrick11 CoG and Federation, honestly. I adore thr locust but mainly because they're fun to kill in batches of hundreds. I prefer Federation MS designs but find both zeon and feddies almost equally evil. If it wasn't for the colony drop, I could see myself preferring zeon.
Agreed. Of course Zeon eventually fell and the remnants became Neo Zeon later on during the Gryps conflict. (Zeta Gundam).

There is a 79 years war to cover from the pendulum wars and also 17 years of war against the locust.
Not to mention the war against the Lambent between them and Locust and the franchise just decided to create a new lore instead telling stories but uncompelling characters in Gears 4 and 5.
I knew the Locust war was a long one, but not 17 years. My God all that time, and they still have the nerve to continue a story that's already finished. I want a prequel game.
Not to mention the pendulum wars were like 80 years. And they only had 6 weeks of rest before E-Day
Gears Tactics takes place 12 years before the first game, so 2 years into the Locust war and Judgement takes place a few months after E-day, sssoooo you already got 2 prequels:)
Kinda like how they are doing their absolute best to keep things new and add in new game mechanics and game modes and u complain how it's not exactly like the old.

Great video again and I'm pretty sure I said a similar thing on one of your other videos. Lore and timeline videos are really great at bringing things together. Much of this lore can often be given out of order, years apart or even in a piece of DLC that we didn't get. This has structured the key events into a clear timeline. Nice video.

Watching this video I just now realized that the device bard finds that has a map of the hollow after the resonator fails is the same device that carmine throws into the pit during the first mission. Could’ve avoided the whole resonator situation from the start.
the swarm is missing the large scale battles of the locust, though some of the moments in gears 5 was a step in the right direction.
The swarm are pathetic. The only cool one is the Warden.

Agreed, it doesn't have the same scale. It really should have been 4 games and ended with the locust destruction. Years ago I did a rewrite of the games and had a second game between Gears 1 and 2, so 2 would be 3 and 3 would be 4. I think it would have been better because the lambent game play kinda sucked too. Karn would be the villain of the 2nd game too
The trilogy of gears 1,2 and 3 will always be my all time favourite game series to me it was perfect I got my Xbox after playing gears 1 round my bros house it started strong got better with 2 and 3 was an all round perfect game the campaign was truly unbeatable it’s a shame what happened with 4 and 5 and I’m scared for 6 it should have ended with 3 and remained perfection all round I give a pass to judgment as it was a prequel and I’m all for more of those just to add more story to the trilogy
I agree they nearly almost ruined the game with 5 this game was made in a diffrent time. I remember early 2009 i first got put on to execution with gears 1 i was hooked instantly. I was really dissapointed when they kept it going with 4 but his sons story was interesting. The onxy guard how they were changed was the most infuriating actually.

@@blueanonymousguy3978 while 4 isnt my fave its still pretty fun. 5 is good though IMO, the nonlinear campaign is a breath of fresh air, literally and the horde and escape modes can be pretty fun with all the classes and super abilities. I think 4 and 5 get way more hate than they deserve given how as far as expansions upon franchises that introduce younger characters it could be a lot worse (wolfenstein new collossus and the one with BJs kids, far cry 6)

I remember when I first played this game and looking at a chainsaw attached to a gun and thought this was one of the most coolest weapons ever and pretty much ended up being obsessed with the game. When someone said this game had one of the best story lines ever in gaming wasn't lying. The first 3 were beyond amazing. Sadly after the 3rd one the games didn't feel the same.

These games scared the shit out of me when I was younger dude. Skurge? Skorge? That dude. Ram? I believe and the huge juggernaut guys that are blind or whatever, when you go into that building and hear it then one of the grunts is like “hell no! Im outta here” runs around the corner and proceeds to be mauled. Using the hammer of dawn i believe it was called to absolutely murk them. I just made myself want to replay them all.

Besides some points in the book, it would cool to see the war in different points in new games before the events of the trilogy
Even though the Locust were monstrous, they were fighting for survival just as much as humanity.
I kinda felt bad for the locusts
It makes me kinda sad that Queen Mira didnt even try to ask for help in fighting the lambent, just went straight to all out and total war.
Got some kickass games out of it tho
Adam Fenix knew of the locusts 5 years before emergence day through notes left behind by his wife Elaine. Myrrah revealed herself, the locusts, and their plight with the lambent. With the pendulum wars going on, and developing the hammer of dawn there was little time to search for a cure. Anything Adam could think of would destroy the lambent and every single locusts since imulsion is in their DNA. Myrrah fighting a losing war underground, surfaced and knew the humans would never help them .Adam never told a soul about how his wife died, or about the locusts.
She should've partitioned the COG. Not that they would've agreed for sure but the devastation her army unleashed on the surface seemed excessive. Then again she probably felt too proud to ask for a human government intervention
@KrillintheVillain given her experiences as a child. She probably let that cloud her opinion of all humans and influence her decision go to war with humanity
She did in a way, because she met Adam Fenix a few years before the Locust War and asked him to create a weapon to kill off the stuff with Lambency, however he was focused on the HoD (Hammer of Dawn) stuff around the time of Operation Leveler and after (when the battle at Aspho happened in the Pendulum Wars).

of important to note that besides the Kryill, the lightmass bombs also took out the berzerkers which is why you don't see them in Gears 2 and only 1 lambent one in 3.

THE GREATEST STORYLINE EVER
I remember playing Gears of War 2 coming up with theories and stuff. One of my theories was and not to far off. But at the time I believed the locusts or the ancestral Locust was an ancient civilization that was underground and they wanted to combine human DNA was the creatures that live underground to create the next evolution of humanity because the Niles guy was obsessed with godhood. And I believe the queen was that creation. She was the first hybrid. And I thought things will be answered in Gears of War 3 sadly it wasn't but when I start a play was it Gears of War 4 or 5 I don't remember cuz I don't know the games but I played through them once I go back to the facility and I was kind of glad that we get to explore the facility but at the same I felt like I already do the answer and I wasn't surprised but then again I think that's the way Marcus felt too is that he already knew.
Actually opperation hollow storm started 15 years after E-day
Ide like to see a game taking place during the first months of the war
A group a gears assigned to defend a munitons plant the first bit is easy they have acess to hevy wepons and armor but eventually you findout that the locast were just probing the defense then in one qick atack the power to the hevy wepons is taken out then as you try to fix it the locast dig under and sap the generators to completely destroy them in doing so the comend oarders the team to cover a full evac of the facility over the coarse of a week indoing so your unit is over run and eliminated
It does make me wonder what would happen if the Locust emerged in our world, as in popping up in major Cities around the globe like London, Washington, Paris, Moscow and such to name a few, how do you think our militaries would fair against the Locust, as in some areas we are more advaced than the cog and others not so much.

For being elite soldiers, the Onyx Guard sure do have a habit of losing every battle against the Locust Horde. They are overrated.

Id love to play as just a Unnamed gear maybe they just have a call sign like in Halo reach were Noble 6 the gear we play as is Male or Female, Callsign is something-4 or idk whatever. With us playing as a Regular gear that's fought in some battles seen in the regular game. Like how we see Alpha 9 in Gears 2. And we could customize our gears armor etc. But they are stuck wearing a helmet or something.
This is close to my idea. Essentially the beginning of Gears 4 where you play through the flashbacks as random soldiers, but an entire game of that. Let you play through different eras, anthology style, and be able to see different events happening through the eyes of a common Gear. Seeing the main characters from that perspective would be awesome too, just imagine Delta squad coming in to save your ass outta nowhere
Now, just imagine if she just exposed her existence so that she could request help to fight a dangerous threat. Then you'd have the cog uir and Locust fighting the lambent. While retreating to the surface that didn't interfere with the surface territory claims
The problem is that myrrah was a locust supremacist and she probably correctly predicted that the locust would never be treated properly if they were ever to migrate to the surface. The locust arent exactly pretty and many of them lack a high degree of intelligence.
Gears 5s campaign talks about how the locust were created from myrrah's and sire DNA (late stage imulsion infected humans). So in a way she felt that all locust were her children and thus had a strong bond with them. Because she spent her entire childhood trapped in a lab and being experimented on for a human evolution project she has no love for humanity.
Mhmn i wonder how a tank battle between the COG and Locust would've played out

ive never played the games, did they ever try collapsing the tunnels onto the locust formations? I know theyre naturally subterranean but with the amount of weight that would fall on them, i think only the worms would survive such a trauma
Oh they tried only for that to fail twice. The first attempt was with the Lightmass bomb.
The second attempt was a mutated Lambent Brumak self destruct after getting orbital striked and that was a partial success, but partial failure given the events of Gears of War 3.
They also flooded the tunnels but then grubs be tough
