I am not surprised 😜
0:17 look at that bass string move
Matthew, I assume you traveled back in time to 1966 and got those boots out of my closet?
Everything vintage.
I like what I’m hearing right now.... you got the tones and vibe down boss, no doubt about it! BTW I saw SRV twice. The first was shortly after Texas Flood, he played at “the Pit” at the University of Maine the summer of ‘82 or ‘83... I didn’t even know who he was, my best friend said “you’re going to like him” and I never was the same after that night. Saw him again at the state theatre in Portland, Maine years later, after he went sober on the “In Step” tour it was wonderful, but it didn’t have the wild, out of control, about-to-explode feel of the first time, man I’ll never forget his face that night, he was all in.
I envy you. Thanks for sharing.
Hopefully you’re settling into the new place well :)
Neighbors aren’t enjoying it much tho 😂
Yep, feeling good!
Forever jealous of all that gear. Nice vids man
This made me stop crying. It sounds so fantastic. That natural feedback sound here and there is so pure it’s amazing
Hang in there William.
tried digitech freqout pedal yesterday -- 50% successful; 50% failure. feedback (the whole signal) goes mute when the note decays. not nearly as lively as physical string feedback.
the wah is cool and all, but i want an episode on those SHOES. great sound as always!
Guitar, amp, and pedal all sound great. I'd say Nick nailed it. The vibrato in your hands is excellent! Keep the vids coming.
The magic of Hendrix and other great wah players is they find the tone break point and can make subtle pedal movements above and below to add a sweet squeeze to the notes that isn’t necessarily moving the pedal to the beat of the song...
Ohh man, that tone was straight out of the 60's and 70's, man that vox is the real deal heavenly, God bless you man 🙏🏻👏👏👏❤👍
I think I watched every live SRV I could find and you nailed that tone as far as Im concerned. But what really makes it sound correct is mostly the playing style you developed. Not easy to get close to that heavy handed intense feel but here you are. A pleasure to watch your videos and see that SRV legacy go on! Awesome, awesome stuff
I dig it Matthew. Great playing as always! ✌
Dude, your playing is off the hook. I grew up listening to a lot of SRV and Hendrix as well and it really inspired my guitar playing. Love your channel bro. Gotta admit I'm a little jealous of your vintage guitars and amps. Rock on bro 🤘
Love the vids Matt, super educational!
You seem to nail the tones. You’ve got the right gear, but more importantly you have the right feel to get it spot on. Nice job.
Anyone else move their mouth uncontrollably when theres some wah?😂
LilTayTay 119 I do
Some guys move there mouths all the time when playing.
Makes me cringe but it's like a good cringe
I did that for years without even being aware until I saw a video of one of my shows
Cheers from Chicago! hyped for the vid
Some sick tones! Awesome recording and playing!
Jesus H Christ man... there are not words in this language to describe how delicious your playing and tone are to my ears... can’t wait for your stuff to be available for purchase
thank you very much.
i came back to this vid to heal my ears after listening to a comparison vid of 4 small-format amp sim boxes 🙉
Goosebumps and a teary eye because that NAILS the SRV Voodoo Chile sound in every way. You're an amazing player and that pedal brings out your absolute best! Thanks so much for uploading!
Thank you Dwayne.
Sounds great!!! Really smooth and has a great range. 👌
You both nailed it, the way sounds great and so does the mater using it!
Glad to see you're getting settled in to the new digs, and as always, glad to see your posts! While not as sought after as those old Vox's, I've got a '76 Fender fuzz/wah that was my uncle's. My cousin recently gave it to me, still works fine, but I haven't had time to really play around with it
Just last night I ran my crybaby through a 10-band eq pedal. Seemed to focus the tone of the wah better and remove some of the harsh edges in the tone. ...I'll experiment more before forming a definitive opinion. But seemed promising.
Wow! Just sounds amazing!!! As always....
Nik really does have a great ear for a wah tone. I fixed my Vox reissue thanks to him
My usps boxes look like they were used as crash barriers lately by the time they get to my front step. Lol
every time!
Unreal tone... Thanks for share, this thing got the mojo for sure!!!
You are one gifted guitar player Matthew, some incredible playing. Holy Smoke and then some
Shout out to Nik! Great job!
Great ten years gone. A lot of that sounded like jimis playing great stuff
Always have that song in the back of my mind..
Awesome, as always!
Nice! Dude keep rockin! All the best from Poland! Dig that thing!
That sounded amazing... came into the video not expecting anything, really. I’m pleasantly surprised by those licks!
Man, u great player, thanks for your vids
Good luck in the new place!
And great tone man....
Hey Matthew, glad to have you back dude been missing your content.
Thing sounds fire man love that wah hopefully I’ll add one to my collection one day!
That's a great setup, sounds fantastic 👍🏽👍🏽🇬🇧🇬🇧
Sounds like a winner Matt. That pedal has good punch. Your new digs has good acoustics too. ✌️
Thanks Steve, I think it sounds better in here!
Sounding mint matt! 🙌🏼
Tweaks on the VOX Wah sound really good! You’re guy, Nick, did a good job.
Sounds AMAZING!!!
Sounds great!
sounds amazing!
Wow gorgeous tone and playing! Love that strat it sings and wails! Faded two tone burst with the wear is exquisite! Main like a well worn pair of shoes that are perfectly comfoftable.
Dude I heard sounds that reminded me of recordings of Jimi and Stevie. What a pedal! But the player still makes the sound! ✌️
It sounded amazing!👍😎🎸🎶
I love your content. I hope you see your channel grow big. Peace!
Absolutely insane sound!!
Excellent stuff!
Wah sounds great!
Beautiful sustain man!
Sweet sounds!
so cool! I got an old vox wah from when i first started playing guitar and havent touched it in almost 10 years. This inspires me to add to my rig and do some woodshedding!
I think Wah owes Nik some gratitude, his vids have caused Wah ripples the world over! I dug out two early 90s wahs and reconditioned them myself and I'm really glad I did. I'd love a 70s one, but not so easy to come by in Australia 🇦🇺. Cheers Matt 👍🏼
It sounds amazing!
I'll eventually find a use for wah. It's not my fave but ill find a day I'm sure I need it. Killer channel bro!
Loved it 👍
Commenting just to help the channel, super cool wah
Thank you Gabriel
Sounds awesome, I bet you're gonna get a lot of use out of that thing.
Waluigis favorite pedal
WAHluigi!
The sound perfect my young friend
Killer tones bro!
Love the nod to Ten Year's Gone 🤘
Oh hell yeah, I almost believed that I was the only one who noticed 🤘
Sounds amazing! I want one 😆
SICK!
Sounds killer!
Sounds badass dude
Congrats on your new home Matthew. I have (and love) a Vox 848, but will have to look out for an 846 now...
Sounds smooth - I still have an old Vox and also an old Electra wa - wa that was made in Italy (edit) wa-wa is how it is written on the bottom of the pedal
WTF IS THIS TONEEEEEEE!!!!
third time watching this video just to hear it again
great tone man
beautiful wah tone
Love the wah wah.👍👍😎
This is awesome!
I just got a new Xotic Wah. That thing nails the Vox vowel tone. It sounds so good out of the box I’ve barely touched the settings. It slays with an octave fuzz in front of it.
Holy shit, that's amazing
your rig sounds hella good
I loved what your buddy did with that wah. I recently had a friend of mine redue a modern vox wah I had laying around and honestly hated. After he redid basically the whole pedal he said he was going for the same style you are talking about. That's what I was looking for as well . Omg this wah is amazing now. I would love to send you some photos or something of the inilside of it. I feel like you would love it. He does them for super affordable prices too.
link please
Definitely nailed the SRV wah tone!
such a sweet wah tone.
That is one helluva boot you have there young man.. Nice wah too... :)
Good one, dude. Sounds killer. Loved the cleans. Any news on the album front? Have you resumed recording yet?
Cheers
I have one of those and have always loved it
That intro ripped my face. Your playing is otherwordly holy sh*t!!!
je suit tes vidéo de la France , je t'adore continue ainsi :)
good stuff
Disfruto oyendo tu forma de tocar. Tienes un toque especial. Te deseo lo mejor. Un saludo
That’s a keeper. 😎
Damn man, you’re so lucky you can shred like that. Hopefully one day I get my fingers like that
awesome
Great to see another video. The pedal really has something new about for sure. Have you tried putting two Wah pedals together and sweeping them with one going down and the other up, or park them in different positions? *Keep on Rockin'✌️*
East coast dude nailed it.. Well played Matt!!
Sounds great..✌
I am jealous of your playing!!
And tone
Dudeeee what the fuck Matt. Too good
tasty playin'
I'm on ear buds and the wha still sounds good
Just ordered a 90s crybaby, wish me luck! Amazing tones btw
Freaking unbelievable, man.
