Snareline sample was actually the solo snare sound not the snare "Line" sound. You have to create system text, click the speaker thing, then select "Line - Sticks - Snares on"... which is super annoying
I went back and checked the file and you're totally right, thank you for pointing that out! I assumed that the instrument would default to "line" and that you'd have to specify for "solo," though evidently that isn't the case in MuseScore.
In my opinion, the bass line and the cymbal sound the best, dynamics are still an issue in MS4 but other than that the way they sound is amazing. I think tenors and snares could use some work, snares especially during flams
Thank you so much for this video! I also know Muse released a VDL drumline sound for 10 dollars so I am very interested in trying that out too, as I much prefer the clarity you get there.
@@TylerDunphy glad you enjoyed! I am also very intrigued by the Muse Sounds version of VDL (especially because it’s 1/20th of the normal price). I was actually considering including it in this video, but I get an “unsupported region” message from Muse Hub about making purchases at the moment. Hopefully in the future I’ll be able to check it out and compare both VDLs!
Thanks for this! while i love that Muse sounds is trying to create alternatives to VDL i think this isn't quite there. The dynamics feel over-emphasized and the reverb behaves a little strange too which is not really what I desire out of playback. Still using MDL with MS 3...
In my opinion, Muse Drumline sounds the mist realistic and not so much like a music software program but more like how itd sound in person, VDL sounds amazinf but its too moduel robtic-y sounding. Both are amazing tools.
You’re going to want to reinstall MuseHub. They redesigned the app. Once you’re in, you’ll be able to navigate to the “MuseSounds” tab and find “MuseDrumline” Hope this helps
@@Wynnez_Music No you're data will not be deleted unless you go back and actually delete it. All MuseScore files should stay, but the program that launches them so you can use it will not remain.
If you add staff text (Ctrl+T on windows) to a note and then click on the speaker symbol that comes up next to it, you can select between different playing zones and implements
Has anyone had luck with the musehub? Haven’t been able to buy the vdl pack. I do know someone actually made a template to use vdl 2.5 but I wanted to try the plugin first
no comparison... muse is amateur as they come... they are not virtual instruments, but out dated soundfont technology... they are extremely limited and sound quality is poor

I’ve found the individual drum is better than line
@@jacobnater9800 I would 100% agree

Yeah the snares have by far the biggest disparity in sound, but those basses sound incredible.
I agree i love musescore 4 it’s just the sound of the flams
In other words, SCV has better sounding drums than Blue Devils lol
Ludwigs do not sound great imo

@@RyanZeutziusMuse Hub is having some trouble with the payment system at the moment. It should be fixed soon so you can make a video on it
$10 for VDL is insane compared to the usual $200. No clue how they swung that deal but I need to scoop it up
@@kbrichmo8547 Honestly its most likely a 100 times lighter version like with Berlin strings.
If only MuseScore had a VDL module. Oh, wait...it does.
That's a really cool bass lick.

MuseScore 3 mdl is still unbeaten by ms4
Imo if u get rid of the reverb in ms4 it’s way better that 3. Ms3 is still a very viable option nonetheless
You can use MDL 3 sounds in 4!! Thats what I’ve been doing and it sounds great!

I think everything VDL sounds better except for basses. I really liked the Bass Line sound of Muse
VDL on top
I prefer the VDL sounds even though i use MuseScore
how did you get the solo snare sound on muse drumline?
How were you able to change the note heads without it changing it to a normal hit with the snare drum

how do you do the sizzle suck on cymbals in the new muse drumline? it doesn't work for me when I copy your notation
