This sounds like if you walked into the band room and everyone was working on the same thing at a different tempo and time
I had this exact thought. 😂
I was amazed at how well it (mostly) hung together. There were a few moments it sounded like the entire drumline tripped over a crack in the sidewalk or something but... it actually worked!
You want those parts so that when your drumline is the one leading everyone into retreat all the other bands stumble and start marching out of time.
@@dizzzave357 200IQ right there
same
It sounds like whenever the band director tells us to play whatever we need to work on
The basses at 8:58 are SPOT ON. Actually sounds so clean
Video Idea: At PASIC or WGI or whatever event has alot of marching percussionists, have them play a lick on whatever drum to fill X measures at X tempo and make it into a cadence
I like this idea
@@EMCproductionsme too
@@EMCproductions are you going to PASIC this year?
It's like each part's player came in and started the same song from the beginning as they came in, regardless of where everyone else was
Honestly this is a very valid way of composing. I feel like what you have here would be a super solid first draft of a cadence. And now if you just clean it up a little bit, figure out the spots that don't really work and fix them up a bit, it'd sound really sick!
you could make an algorithm automate the process, if you don’t like a spot, you tell it to regenerate that spot.
@@soup6884AI generated cadence 😲😱😱 that would be a cool video idea tho
Your videos have made me keep on drumming for the past 3 years. And I enjoy them very much💯
I can never get over the fact that the check sounds so groovy for 2 beats and then it sounds all over the place after that
For the random nature of the idea, it shows that, musically speaking, if the principals are sound, everything works out. Any form of music is nothing more than complex mathematics in sound. For those who understand that world (obviously you do) of musical compositional theory, then nothing is impossible. Great job.
Video 24 of asking for the full Freebird Guitar Solo on the Megatenors on the Megatenors
Edit: its 24, my Bad
The fact that he did it 💀
That was awesome! Thanks for putting so much time into that!
It sounds like every section heard where they were starting differently
Would love to see you use this as a part of your "Fixing bad percussion writing" series.
That was pretty sick! Great job!
Worked out fairly well like you were saying... kinda surprised. Couldn't been an advanced band working on parts in the zero hour warmup lol
at least it's not terrible XD. sounds like the band room practicing a new thing and weren't shown first or ever
babe, new EMC video dropped.
It started out awesome and then kind of went....south and then got back on track somehow? Very entertaining as usual.
its such chaos but for some reason i love it
god, I love this channel
let’s go new emc vid!
I like the tap off of the second bar
Change the name to "This was a Bad GOOD Idea!"
Good stuff!!!
Gotta love composing with little to no creative effort... I feel called out
More please if you wouldn't mind
most effort i’ve ever seen put into a 9 minute video
The work you put in your videos is brutal :O
this sounded great!
I’ve heard worse cadences, and that bass feature actually rocked!
@EMCproductions
If I send you a cadence that was written for my school, can you please play it? It would be an honor!!
real surprised by the end product. definingly thought it was going to be a real mess.
Dang thats like when a new kid trys to play chops but does not know anything about music so he plays random notes
It was great !!!
Measure 9 and 10 sound pretty cool ngl
I must learn the secrets of these hybrid rudiments I've never heard of...
Happy 4th of July
this sounded like when i walked into drumline practice and everybody was working on something different
that cymbal feature goes incredibly hard. the rest of it is definitely some notes.
I did something like this in the late 1970s; I wrote a BASIC program for the Radio Shack TRS-80 that used (a) an array of every pattern/rest that fit in 1/2 beat and (b) a random number generator to generate snare solos, which I transcribed and added dynamics, sticking, time signatures, etc. I used one of them in competition, and...well, let's just say that the judges weren't ready for that level of technology. That's my story, anyway, and I'm sticking to it. 8)
The way everyone's schools write drum features.
this guy os so underrated he oits so much time into each video
As a Latino, this reminded me of the music I hear in the streets during some local festivity
I think it could be quite interesting to hear how a whole show would turn out written that way. For the brass lines, I'd go with two spinners. The first would be filled with notes and rests of different lengths and the second one would have all the pitches for that instrument.
Very nice
I like it!
I been watching these kinds of videos. I would like to know though, what notation software do you use? Also, keep up the great work man!
He uses musescore
1:34 I was hoping that you would get a LOOPY Grandma during the Tenor section!
the roll off 😂
Good morning, and this is Video number 66 of asking for marchable bass drums set up in a tenor formation. I.e. benor drums PS: custom backbar may be needed
Ever thought about putting mics on the basses to get more tone in the mix?
It sounds like when I try to write a drumline cadence.
That sounded like the most awkward thing I’ve ever heard
You should have spun for a random dynamic
Video 2 of asking EMC to keep making percussion content
It was okay. Popcorny in some spots but the bass licks for the solo were super cool.
Composed Improvisation basically
I feel like Cowbell has been demoted! Was she jealous you used that wheel instead of her? ;)
hi emc, i was wondering if you could review some of the thomann marching snares, thanks
Do you wanna write a cadence for the HOUSTON Texans drumline, Deep Steel Thunder?!? We can call the video writing a cadence the BEST way possible! 😉
Damn I loved it
That “e” in measure 2 thou… 🙌🏼👏🏼🤌🏼 8:37
The cadence was awesome 👍
is it just me or are tenors and snares the most noticeable sounds?
I'm calling this one "Beef Stew".
That was interesting.
Eric, serious question. I have 6 pack of tenors, with two 6" drums, and then goes 8" through 13". How would you tune the double 6" drums?
This was a fun one. How difficult was it to play?
can i ask why you photoshop the drumheads white in your thumbnails?
Can you do a cover of spanks from Boston
He qctualky took the time to learn it wow.
Correct👍
Day 1 of asking EMC to make a drumline soundfont for musescore
should have named it "The Bad way" and it did sound good minus the intro with the snare
This is what drumline sounds like to people that know nothing about drumline
where can I find a check pattern list?
You might have already said before, but what software is this?
I believe he's using Musescore 3 with the drumline extension, it's free by the way!
@@austintolley4066 thank you
What app do you use to write the music?
I like it
What sticks does he use??
It just sounded like a bunch of random notes with no real groove to it. However I do like the idea of using the wheel to help decide what to put in there. But quite like this. 😅
That's not bad... Needs flubs though...
Morning
It good
Bro still using musescore 3 💀
So I felt that overall this was way better than anticipated, but there were certainly moments that felt like the drums were thrown at the wall to see what stuck.
I think the cymbal feature was the weakest point, it felt slightly off kilter.
Part 2?
that was such a goofy ahh cadence
Hi
Colin Mcnutt be like
But why are you on musescore 3 😭😭
You can’t add sticking on 4
As a drumset player, sounds like anyother cadence🤷🏾♂️ now do an optimized version!
First off, nice cadence (being random), Secondly, I'm going to be a section leader next year, and my main responsibility is gonna be training cymbals. I have plans for a lot of visuals and fun features, but any tips on how to teach and keep them from being bored out of their minds? (Our cymbals are all incoming freshman)
When AI writes a cadence
Idk, it sounds like any other cadence to me. I'm not a drum person, sorry
Not first 😢
Wow I'm early
You're first! Good work.
Dums
😅😅I LIKE The tapoff
P
even worse idea: have chatGPT write a cadence. do it the same way you did this cadence: ask it to write one bar, and then the next, and then the next, rinse and repeat for each part.
