This video was very helpful. I start the dental hygiene program. Next fall, and after that im doing dental medicine. I guess it's time to get reestablished for the new norm. Thank you!
I think I have a video specifically about this, but for me the most important factors were: do I fit into the program well...did I mesh with faculty at my interview and other interviewees. Cost of the school. And the clinical experience you'll get at the school especially if you are going into general dentistry
Glad to see you back making videos! Ran into you when I was interviewing at OSU this last cycle, now I'm starting as a D1 at OSU in August! Hopefully run into you in Postle if we're ever allowed back.
Wow really informative video 😊 It's going to be really interesting to see the changes! We're not sure what changes are going to happen in the UK just yet!
Classes will probably be online for the next little while. And lab courses will have pretty tight regulations...ppe will probably be worn more so than in the pas
Hi DR. Trevor. i hope this message finds you well. i am Ebraam George a dental student from Egypt, and i very interested to become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in the United States. i watched your videos about omfs they are really good and helpful, but i was just asking if i have information about the pathways for foreign graduates in the United States concerning it, and how would i go about the steps to reach omfs residency. i am actually very interested in the six year omfs residency program. it is really interesting, and i have a passion for this profession and i would like to really hear your advice. i like your channel and videos thanku very much for them.
It is stressful for me in uni with the lockdown I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for you especially because you need to gain those hand skills and sharpen them everyday.
I just submitted my app for this cycle on June 16th! I’m really excited, but also a little nervous because I don’t know what to expect for interviews (fingers crossed). Do you anticipate all schools will have online interviews? Or do you think some schools will take the proper precautions to hold in person interviews? I feel that visiting the schools and having the full experience would be a lot more rewarding to their applicants. I’m not sure though, what do you think?
It seems like online interviews are going to be the new norm for this cycle. I agree though that in person interviews are great. My interview at OSU is what sold me on going here.
Man, Im at a crossroads like you were back when you started second guessing dentistry n stuff. I'm at the point where I can still pick dentistry or Medicine. They both are cool as hell. But I think medicine is cooler but by the same token much much more demanding. I would go for it without second guessing if I knew I was up to the task. Not just the hellish studying and residency but things like peoples lives being in my hands. Having to tell a family their loved one is dead. IDK if I can do that. Dentistry on the other hand though still interesting, it is less so. It has less pressure and stress both study and job wise. And though it still requires communicating with people its in less stressful/bad situations most of the time. Yes the work hours aren't too bad especially after a while of being a dentist. But it feels like it's gonna be somewhat monotonous. Kind of like sitting at a desk job. I wouldn't know as I'm not a dentist so maybe you can give more insight as you probably have more information.
I go to the dentist in July for a cleaning I’m sure there will be a lot of precautions.
Definitely. Private practices are going to really want to follow the new guidelines. It would be disastrous if they spread the virus in their office
For sure
In Spain we’ve been since march 11th without going to uni or clinic and we still don’t know how is it going to be with the patients next school year 😭
I'm nervous about finishing all the requirements! I'll hope for the best though
Where you beeen? Missed your content. Great you're back
Trying to find a charger for my camera 😄

How did you go about finding and choosing your dental school?

Starting dental school in August, I'm super nervous about all the changes. I just hope we start getting back to normal soon. Love your videos man!
Appreciate it! Good luck
Physical gold and silver are always good to have. Good luck with all the new protocols
Diversity is a good idea for sure 👍

Hey, incoming D1 here. What changes do you see coming for didactics courses and pre-clinic labs?
Classes will probably be online for the next little while. And lab courses will have pretty tight regulations...ppe will probably be worn more so than in the pas

Are you enjoying the slower pace, or is it driving you crazy?! 🤭😅
Nice video bro..why did you go in this career?
Its a great mix of surgery and entrepreneurship when you own your own business in my opinion. I really enjoy both
@@trevorwestdds5505 ok thanks
