I see you still post on Instagram so I’m really happy your safe and healthy, couple UA-cam overlanders I followed fell to the Virus and it really saddens me so even if you chose to take a break of simply live you life away from the camera take care and I truly hope you and your wife live well healthy and happy.
Hey matthew, did the build series stop because of covid? Will you start uploading again? I hope you are safe, cheers mate. Looking forward to watching your vids again
Been looking at your channel. Great stuff. Loads of great helpful videos. You’ve been working on that Mog a long time . It’s going to be better than the day it was first built.😁
I cannot answer that question with any real world knowledge as I have not driven the 8.136 more than a mile myself. Although 13 mpg sounds bad on the Daf, when you compare it to many over vehicles it’s pretty good.
Another really good example of problem solving and engineering. Does this possibly work as a mod to replace the cab rams on the daf t244's. I hear that replacements are getting hard to source
That looks solid Matt! 👍🏻 Just to ask a potentially stupid question if i may, would it have been possible to use a gas strut instead? Even to replace the old system with a custom one off t'internet?
Ok understood, I'm working through your videos with intention to restore and build an overlander over the course of this year 👍🏻 For all the downsides of social media, its definitely balanced out with folk like you putting out interesting and helpful advice 👍🏻
Yes it will be fine. More power would be nice but not needed. It’s generally road use when you want more power. Remember this isn’t a rock crawler, or off road competition vehicle. My Daf is under powered, only 145 hp as standard. But I am tuning that a little at the moment. More of a nice to have than needed. The big reason I’m doing it is I am adding an exhaust brake, and while messing with the exhaust I’m adding a uprated turbo and stainless exhaust system. But it’s not needed. The exhaust brake though I recommend. Much nicer in the mountains.
@@matthewpayneadventurerfilm8902 even I am working with under power truck 115hp 400nm as it is the only 4x4 truck available in India , as in Europe there so many kinds of 4*4 trucks , so I was a bit shocked you choosed this one . Waiting for your building series videos 👌
@@KnowRealIndia9124 this little MAN isn’t for me . It’s for a customer. I have my Daf T244. I know of some T244’s that are in India. Think about 10 for sale.
Hi Matt, Hope you are ok, I have had prices from Jacksons for truck and W/shop container, you mentioned you could source good base vehicle etc, can you message me with ball park figures as, my Wife and myself are up for some adventures. Funds very soon in place, (Inheritance and downsizing , with sale of building plot )

Good job 👍👍
Another great video - it's coming along well with good engineering like it , be mocking up replacements for DAF next ,
Missing your videos, hope all is well.
well executed mod. I like it.
Matthew, hope all is well and you will be exploring again soon! Miss your videos, updates and travels!
So do I. I have a number of build videos coming soon.
@@matthewpayneadventurerfilm8902 Thanks for your reply! Sounds great, then get back out there, I really miss your adventures! Safe travels soon!
Looks solid! :) That is a few years ago I flipped a truck cabine :)

@@matthewpayneadventurerfilm8902 Yes bought it 15 years ago ha ha :) But it is fun learning to build a truck :)
How does the 8.136 compare to the t244? In more terms of mpg? I’d love a t244 as you can pick them up cheap but the 13 mpg puts me off

Hi Matthew, hope you are well. Sorry to have not heard from you in a while. Life gets busy. Hopefully good busy ?
Very busy but I hope to be back making videos soon.

@@matthewpayneadventurerfilm8902 there are just 2-3 in India brought by carnet , as import duties on vehicles is highest in the world + few more taxes
