Our Little Manila Historical Tour - 2024

On one of our vacation days, we wanted to see what all the fuss was about with touring Manila's historical sites (we see a lot of vloggers doing it). Having grown up in Manila, I had only been to Luneta and Fort Santiago occasionally growing up - they weren't very memorable experiences (nothing negative but Manila was always just a pass-through area for me). So we decided in the spirit of Nationalism, to take a look see at what these historical areas had to offer, at the very least to remind us of our roots.
I'd always been a Makati kid growing up - so these other commercial areas, though I was familiar with, did not resonate with me as must-see tourist places. After this day, though, I can see the appeal and why tourists not familiar with the Philippines' history should go.
As a bonus, I had never seen the Bagumbayan art installation in my life (the depiction of Rizal's execution) - so that was something new for me.
