    I have waited so long that now I am about to buy the Z8.

      I understand, a number of us already did that. I kept my Z6 II when I bought the FX30 to do photo work. Had I never tried the A7R V, it would still have it. Let’s see how things play out for this month. Then again, the Z8 is on sale which makes it tempting.

    Nikon is good in keeping things secret. I just hope they made enough cameras to be sold out and then have to wait awhile for it to come back into stock. I've been buying some manual lenses and loving them. Nikon F film lenses and some Leica M lenses. Used of course. The Rode Wireless Go and the Lavalier is working great unless I mix up the Receiver as the Mic and plug the wrong device into the computer. Remember to fully charge and turn both the mic and receiver on also. It's a waiting game now. Cheers!

      For as long as we have been waiting, I hope what we get is a winner like the Z8. It’s nice that you are getting some manual focus lens for your collection, enjoy!

    Yeah, another Nikon user here unable to manage his anticipation for this Z6iii launch! ;-) But my interests are only for stills photography. And if Nikon has ramped up the video side of it so high - and has also raised the price significantly - then for my needs and uses I'd probably go back and repurchase a Z6ii. Regarding menus, you pur forward a novel suggestion. But I'd think that Nikon is more concerned with keeping the menus across all their cameras as similar as possible, for those with multiple Nikon bodies. Appreciate your thoughts.

      Craig, the Zf is a step above the Z6 II in terms of features, the form factor may not be to everyone’s liking however, Nikon gave it more photo based upgrades than they did video. That’s one of the reasons why I haven’t picked one up. Of course, I hope they port those features to the Z6 III and the Z8/9. I saw the Leica SL3 menu and liked it, plus Atomos OS 11 has a similar look, with the small number of items in Nikon’s video menu, doing it that way means less scrolling through texts and just pressing the screen to get to the items.

    I was inclined buying a D6, I already have Z6 and Z8 but I’ll wait for Z6iii

      After getting to try a Z9, I was very tempted by the performance it provided for the price point. The Z8 was closer to what I wanted, it has a feeling of a DSLR, the grip felt great in the hands, that made it easy to give up the A7R V, with it's great multi-angle screen (every camera should have something similar). The Z6 III needs to be a standout camera for as long as we have been waiting for it.

      @@ivans_show That info was from Nikon Rumors, it would have been great if they announced in April. With the Z8 launching in May last year, I’m hopeful the Z6 III will do the same, it’s now 3 1/2 years past its expected replacement cycle window.

    • @waynerm002

      LOL! I like the Zf however, it’s just small step on the Z6 II, video wise. As I do more with video, I see how the high temps here in South East Asia can be a challenge for the Z8 at times which is why I’m hoping they add active cooling to the Z6 III.

    The Fuji X Summit is May 16th. Canon is rumored to release a camera that week as well. Leica and Panasonic are rumored to be releasing cameras at the end on May. My guess is Nikon will avoid May and get well into June for the Z6iii launch. This week would be another possibility, to get the pre-order jump on Canon, in case Canon puts something compelling out there (and they will), but I doubt it. Like you said, they want a clean launch period with nothing else happening after the launch.

    • @waynerm002
      @waynerm002  4 місяці тому

      If they launch this week, that would be great. As far as Canon, I think the R5 II and R1 are the cameras expected, both of those do not compete with the Z6 III, Panasonic should be delivering the S1 II series, the S1HS II should be in the 24MP range but, will be priced higher and for Leica, the SL3S also in the same 24MP range and will be pricey. I’m not sure about what Fuji will bring but, I’m curious.

    Is z6iii cheaper than s5iix ? 2:11

    • @waynerm002
      @waynerm002  4 місяці тому +1

      As of now, we don't know the pricing however, the Z6 II was priced at $1,999 when launched back in 2020, the Zf was launched last year at $1,999. With the specs we are seeing, it should be a bit better than the Lumix S5 IIX, if Nikon pulls the same trick of launching 1 camera body with everything (up to 6K60 NRAW) on board like the Z8, that could possibly push it close to Blackmagic Pocket 6K FF (would need onboard audio to be compatible) territory and it could end up around $2,499-2,599. I also have an interest in the Lumix S5 IIX but, as I own Nikon and Sony lens that would mean I need to get lens for the S5 IIX. I am hopeful we will get rewarded with a standout performer of a camera when the Z6 III come to market.

    • @waynerm002
      @waynerm002  4 місяці тому

      If it’s $3K, it better have some awesome video specs and a body to match. Canon and Sony have made cinema cameras from their hybrids, if Nikon does the same with all the things people want from a standout video camera in the $2-2500 price point, that would be great. If they went to $3K, it will have to deliver a lot more.
