5 Ways to NOT be an Annoying Car Enthusiast!

  • Ain't even gonna lie. Some y'all Car Enthusiasts need this video. A conversation is a two way interaction, do not just continue on and on and on about whatever without reading the facial expressions of the people you’re interacting with. If they start to look around as if wanting to walk away, then give them a reason to stay by asking them about their day. It doesn’t even have to be about cars, just listen to them. By the time they start to shuffle their feet and point their toes away from you, you’ve already lost.
Constantly spitting out specs, data, and statistics. Even Car Enthusiasts get bored of that. If we wanted to hear that, then we’d read an article online about it. In person, it’s more fun to talk about what cars mean to you than the literal numbers on paper. “YEAH BRO, LOOK AT HOW COOL I AM FOR KNOWING ALL THIS STUFF”
Talking only about Cars is annoying, not just for listeners, but honestly even for yourself at times. You’ll get burned out only being a car guy, I made a whole video on this topic of reasons why people quit liking cars and funnily enough the lack of another hobby is a big reason Car Guys quit.
CARS ARE ALL I HAVE, I’D BE DEPRESSED WITHOUT IT, I’M A SAD BOI (or girl).
LOOK AT ME AESTHETICALLY LOOKING IN THE SUNSET AT THE TOP OF A PARKING GARAGE. CARS GIVE ME FREEDOM, THEY ALLOW ME TO NOT HAVE TO TALK TO MY PARENTS OR HANGOUT WITH OTHER KIDS AT SCHOOL, EVEN THOUGH I ALSO HANGOUT WITH NO ONE AT CAR MEETS OR CLUBS EITHER. NO ONE UNDERSTANDS ME BRO, I’M A SAD BOI. This isn’t me making fun of depressed people, most of these people aren’t even actually depressed, they just pretend to be for “Aesthetic”.
No one owes you anything, especially after only meeting you once. Friendships take time to form, and no one is forced to give you any respect just by you being there. If someone doesn’t want to give you their number the first time, that’s just how life is. If you do like the way you interacted with someone and do want to see them again, then you can just ask what meets they go to or if they’re part of a club. Joining a Car Club or going to a Public Sanctioned Car Event is a guaranteed way to see them again.

Yeah, that's why whenever I spot a nice car but I'm with non car guys, all I ask is "what do you think about this car? Just appearance wise"

I usually say nothing lol. Usually cause if we're on the sidewalk outside, we're mid conversation about something else. The only time I care is if they ask me, "Hey you know cars? What was the Blue one with stripes that just passed?" I'll just tell them the model and if they don't ask anything else, I just return to the topic at hand. Sometimes they lead up with "Is it fast" or "Is it expensive" but mostly it just ends with "oh nice". It's just an obversation they made and out of curiosity, wanted an answer, so I gave a short answer to sate their curiosity without going all **inhale**

Don't rate a car based on that figure. Just don't.

Although being based on the topic of cars, many of his/your videos are giving some universal tips on how to be a better/more likeable person. Honestly Bro, it may not be as hard as you think to find a new hobby. You just have to get real with yourself in a sense. A few years back, I realized I like Soccer. I'm a Young Black man from an impoverished area, in a country where soccer isn't even a top 4 sport. Talk about odd to say the least. My point isn't to make that about me though. The point is honestly to let you know that your environment you're accustomed to, the people in your life, and the material things don't define who you are or what they mean. Instead you define what they mean to you, take some charge in your life. God Bless Bro 🙏

It's unfortunate some people just can't seem to grow up and blame everything on outside forces they can't control instead of bettering themselves. I can talk cars with a lot of people but when they start talking to me as if I don't know what I'm talking about I immediately check out. I'm open to learning more about something that I'm interested in, always, just don't act like you're dunking on my knowledge and acting holier-than-thou just because you know how many quarts of oil a 458 needs or whatever.

#3 I'm making body works on my MK3 GTI, and currently don't have a daily, so I'm longboarding from home to garage (about 5 km one way) every day, morning and evening. On the weekends I have long walks downtown with my gf, and if we see a cool car, we talk about it, but is not like I just talk about cars the whole time, or that my life revolves around cars, even though I spend the whole week working on cars in the garage, or in the computer making 3d models of cars, parts and environment for car games (it's my actual profession), and I love it.

Having other hobbies is a big thing. I’d consider myself still kind of a newbie car guy, but I still like doing car-related things and talking to car guys about car stuff. That said, I only really have one friend who’s also into cars, and the rest of my friend group came together over other interests, like Magic: The Gathering, sci-fi (particularly Star Wars), anime (particularly JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure), or Dungeons and Dragons. We can even waste hours just talking about the music we listen to.

The whole get another hobby thing is crazy because I’ve seen it happen too many times. So basically I was talking to a another car guy once he was driving a C6 Z06. And me being new to the Corvette platform because I’ve been on the waitlist for a C8 for over a year and I’m finally getting close to the delivery date. I walk up to him and I’m like yo that’s a sick C6 so he goes on about it tells me what he’s done to it than he asked me “What do you drive?” And currently i drive my Genesis Coupe had it since my senior year of high school I just graduated college. Then he looks at me smiles and says “that little thing” and I immediately knew this guys ego and personality resonates in this car. And then I tell him I’m actually on the waitlist for the C8 corvette stingray. HE THAN CUTS ME OFF HALFWAY THROUGH MY SENTENCE AND SAYS “WHAT KID YOU CAN’T AFFORD THAT!!” and then I wanted to explain the situation I saved my money through college because I used my dads GI bill and it covers every school for free for me in California I played football so my parents were a big financial help and my mom as a last present for the rest of my life said “I’ll help you and give you 5k towards your next car when you graduate college” so I saved got the 5k and now I’m getting the car soon but anyway. This guy then proceeds to say “come back here when your car arrives so I can gap you in your wannabe Ferrari” and thanks when I left the conversation and just overall left the meet. I tell you this story to tell you this Don’t be that guy at the car meet don’t be that guy/girl that identifies through their car it’s the equivalent of peaking in High School but except your 35 years old and you have no other hobbies besides your car and surrounding your life and making it about your car. Because at the end of the day we love cars we truly do but when your dead and gone you can’t take it with you.

I love the bladed bro talks lol, I have never met a single person car enthusiast or otherwise that i've enjoyed talking to that is a single interest person. Having one defining interest is so lame because you miss out on so many things that you could learn how to do but chose not to in a vain attempt to get respect from people you don't know. I love my MR2, even my non-car friends love it too, but it's not because they really know it or understand it; it's because I go camping with them, have game nights, live a socially active life. The car just happens to be there, and as they get to know me, they got to know my interests and eventually we shared those interests! If you are confident in yourself and in what you love, know people long enough and the love spreads!

That doesn't mean you never change but it does mean that yes often some people just aren't your people and vice versa. The core of you changes very little, the minusua really does make a difference but you have to be genuine with others.

as primarily a motorcycle enthusiast i really LOVE bikes, i have a 2016 CB650f but im also a car guy, even though i dont own a car nor can i really drive a car, i still want one. I really like modifying cars and the whole mechanic side of things which is also why i do a lot of my own work on my bike.
but im also a HUGE gamer and can spend hours infront of a computer screen while im also really fascinated by firearms and how they work/shoot, they are litterally controlled chaos
i really think its important to branch out to other hobbies and an added bonus is that you dont really get as bored as quckly
not sure if anyone is gonna read this or really care but i thought id just add my thoughts to this video coming from someone who was kind of obsessed with video games for a long time.
also sorry for any misspellings, english isnt my first language
