Great Aussie pub rock. I paid $55 for a ticket to a Silverchair concert nearly 20 years ago... just to see Magic Dirt as the support act! Heheh good times.
I saw them at the metro around the same time and yes silverchair were the main act. I was blown away by both acts. Loved that song "Ice" by Magic dirt.
first time I heard this was on a family holiday driving around nothern queensland, fell in love with it instantly and still love hearing it 20years on!
Adalita, what a soul 💗 This came up as flow on from Lou Reed's "Average Guy" that a friend sent, just came to mind. We were blessed to grow up with these songs ❤🎶
First time I heard this a million years ago on double or triple j I though it was the the coolest song and the clip is outstanding too. Also they band are still Killing it live…what’s not to love?!
awesome song.... and I just love how arkward this video clip is ; ) Listening to this cruising through east java beautiful scenery and a great soundtrack 👍👍👍👍 As an ordinary boy, I'm glad you like it
a girl made me feel this way at Livid 96 (i think) when we met. was in a Q, she i had a nice chest, (i did back then) we had a great day. the Living end played and then Green day did... thanks for the lift to a mates place.
So this (2000) was around the time Dean Turner found out he was ill, and he passed away 9 years later. He never said anything to the public about his cancer. This was also one of their first "poppy" songs, as I read. I'm gonna start following this band a little more. This song is cute but they have better stuff even though this one's cool, too.

I’m actually quite surprised that this absolute gem of a choon only has 146K views. Really should have 146M. People mostly have shit taste in music. It seems. I, on the other hand have great taste 😎😁
Adalita, Judith Lucy and Eron Chapman. My Trifecta for Aussie Womens Day. Shit Males also have opinions.........lol. love and humour, etc...etc....etc.....
100% there was a point when they were playing all the songs from Rockstars live, and most of them were pretty good live, then once recorded they were softened down, more choruses added, and songs shortened, vocals amped up etc It was almost like they woke up one day and made a clear decision to go more commercial. I think the real low point was this an competition girls, that songs still makes cringe, but on the flip side Rockstars actually had some good songs like Pace It is up there with the Dirts best and Smoulder is actually a great song.
A great song but you cannot help but think how an A grade producer would have made it so much more - instead its a bit overladen with "hey a got a new pedal" unrestrained guitar. But a great song all the same.
This song holds up extremely well with time. Absolutely goes off.
The definition of underrated
Your comment is the definition of overused.
Makes me miss the old Homebake festivals. great Australian rock of my teens.
Homebake was the best

So many feels - love a bit of reminiscing! Underrated band from back in the day. Top shelf live performance too.
Best live. Geelong was the melting pot of underground music.
Saw them perform at Big Day Out in Perth in blistering heat. I don't remember which year but Metallica were head lining.
Underrated is so overused
Going round Australia with family in 2002 as a 13 yo listening to triple J volume 8 on my Sony discman.
I love the little dance she does at "make me go"
For some reason, this song makes me very happy indeed. I know that feel...

You're an ordinary boy and
That's the way I like it
On the train in the corner
With a mind-numbing headache
Went out last night
With only one life
Had to let you know
That you're beautiful
And you make me go and
Even if you're takin'
There's no moves I'm makin'
My legs are achin'
My eyes are sore
I haven't washed my jeans
In three months or more

I want an ordinary boy t-shirt
One of my university lectureres used this as an example of the 'stupefying' effect of pop music. Seems he didn't understand irony.
You needed the solo.
I think this is where MD started heading south. Am I right?
Nope!

Australias Patti Smith, but better.
A great song but you cannot help but think how an A grade producer would have made it so much more - instead its a bit overladen with "hey a got a new pedal" unrestrained guitar. But a great song all the same.
