I have gone back and forth about getting serious about fishing or hunting. Every time I watch Brian I get reminded that hunting wins. I live east of the Mississippi. I’m working on a game plan for getting out west and just focusing on hunting as much as I can. Thanks for staying gritty Brian and continuing to pump out content.
@@jeremyblackwater439 I hunt and fish every chance I get. I finished up my whitetail season and was incredibly successful. I also just bought a boat this past summer and took it out 3-4 days a week.
@@GrittyGearAndPodcast I've eaten Gator, it's just ok. Now Rattlesnake is real good. Wild turkey is good. Almost any bird. Seen people eat possum, raccoon and beaver...not real sure about that. Lol
Best wild game I have ever eaten. We followed your recipe, and it is AMAZING!!!! Try it on toast with raw onions and mustard!! So good. Cant wait for spring season to open. Great work, love the videos.
man thank you so much for your video on canning bear meat. I had no idea you could can meat period. I've done bear, deer, and even duck. Its some of the easiest to make and best tasting meat I've had.
Black bear rocks. So much easier than cutting steaks. From a deer or elk. Chunk the whole thing up and freeze it then pull it out and grind it with a Hi Mountain sausage cut from BiMart. Follow the easy directions. So simple. Tastes like candy. Cook up as patties or add to spaghetti. Bearghetti or breakfast bearittos.
ABSOLUTELY must cook the meat to 170 degrees to nuke all potential parasites. That’s why I like canning meat-the canning process cures all potential problems and renders the meat totally safe to eat.
Kids love attention! Even if it’s bad attention. Social media platforms, I think, promote our bad side like kids trying to get attention. We want to connect with you. You’re a really cool dude! We know you have a ton of messages and won’t have time to be bothered by a long message like this one, so we are encouraged to say something quickly that will grab your attention. I’m guilty of it myself. I made a comment about your broadheads flying like field points. That’s not really how I want to connect with you. I want to tell you that I really admire what you are doing. You are not just about one thing. I mean you are even spreading wisdom about financial peace from dave Ramsey. I’m also on that path. My wife has also battled cancer. The little tid bits I hear that I know you’ve gotten from books I’ve read. Learning about Theodore Roosevelt, and so many more examples of just good knowledge and wisdom that you share. I want your attention just like a little kid because I think you are awesome and really cool and a good person. So the little bit in this podcast about the nature of comments on these social media platforms really hit home for me. I loved all of it and I need to listen to some more books now. Thanks for that. I just think our comments on these platforms are not really conducive of who we really are because of “hey look at me” nature of them. Stay Gritty brother!
I grew up eating canned meat never had canned bear I've had roast though. I probably eaten a hundred canned groundhogs. They are probably more underrated than bear which is a shame they are both delicious!
🤔 Yeup... gonna have to wrangle me up some black bear next! All the hype from you and Lampers over how good it is has got me convinced. First I gotta do it the ol jet boil in the field way, render some fat and fry it up!

Apple slices with your bear, yum.
I've had bear meat once...it was gross.
That’s too bad. Bear is my favorite game meat. Gotta eat the right bear though-some bear meat tastes terrible.

I absolutely agree. You have me hooked. Got my first bear this year and have loved eating the bear meat all winter long. SO GOOD!
Where are the bear hunt videos??...
Yup!!! I smoke mine often, low and slow. In Alberta I bait with grain and trial mix and it is seriously my favorite!!!
We put a small chunk of salt pork in the bottom of our jars when bottling deer and moose! Will try doing bear this spring hopefully 👍🇨🇦.
You and Lampers have inspired me to try my hand at bear. Fingers crossed.
Great video makes me want to get a bear then can the meat

can you use PORK BELLY as the fat to mix in with grinding up bear meat for hamburger ??
and for Canning?
Is Bear meat any good? No its freaking GREAT! I've never jarred it. I eat it too fast! hah! Bear pastrami will be going in the smoker oven tomorrow!
So what’s the deal with Trichinosis? Something to worry about or no?
