Astonishing job! Will do the same early next month on my 11 years old ENA3 (becomes a bit grumpy and Jura's support is not providing many spar parts anymore...)
Hi, thanks the video, it a geat help. I am having issues to disassamble the plastic covers, do you use any special bit for screw behind the jura cover below the water tank? Thanks
Very good job and thank you for sharing your works which are very useful. I would like to have your advise regarding an issue. My machine boots up normally until the brew unit appears to drive upward without stopping. A terrible crunching noise ensues and I have to switch it off. Without the brew unit, I found out that the engine is always running with no sequence (clockwise and counterclockwise turns). I cleaned the brew unit according to your videos and it moves perfectly. So what could be the problem, the motor, the encoder, or something else ? Thanks for your help...
@@yt.myworks Problem fixed. I found out that the brew unit wasn't well fixed on the steelplate (between motor gear and brew unit) by the screws. So I decided to change the steelplate and to change the screws as well. These two parts are well tighten together and it works. Regards
This is an absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing video. Thank you for this great information. We have a beloved Ena 3 and I have been wanting to do an in-depth cleaning. Not sure I can go as far as you did though. 🥺
Proceed gradually, first remove the brewing group, clean it and replace the seals. Then repair the outlet valve on the right-hand side and maybe clean the grinder at the end if you feel up to it. Always take lots of pictures to see how it should be put together.
What position does the grinder need to be in when you assemble the jura? I think I may have put it together where the coffee grinds too fine. I also noticed marks that align on the housing- is that to be in a certain position? Thanks for the great video!! Got me through the entire cleaning and reassembly!!
Hi, on most grinders you can see a blue or red mark made by the manufacturer. This was the original setting for the correct grinding level. You can use these marks as the starting position and then adjust them according to your preferences.
Your videos are just perfect with an amazing quality ! I loved all of them and I am really one of your early fan ! Thank you so much. I've just purchased the Proxxon 28660 polishing tool following this video as I was really amazed how you managed to renovate the plastic covers and bring their brightness with this tool. What product/cream do you put on the tool sponge ? I'm very impressed, really... Again thank you for what you do, it helps the community so much. I am specialised in Delonghi machines but learning now Jura with you. Big hugs from France :)
@Florent Marandon many, many thanks for the great words. I use Menzerna products for polishing: amzn.to/2PDuE68. Thanks very much and greetings back to France.
This was very satisfying to watch. I have an Era 4 that is 2 years old and the brew group appears to be struggling a bit. I'm tempted to go through it like you did here. The cleaning tabs just don't seem to do the job.
fantastic work! I have an ena 9 and the milk frother is coming out. i can see the heated water going in the drip tray, but nothing is coming out of the spout. same thing happens when I do a C clean.
@@yt.myworks thanks for the suggestion, but the coffee runs fine. its when using the steam/frother/milk. it will dump it in the try. nothing comes out of the steam/frother/milk spout
Okay, I suspect that a o-ring, maybe in the rotary switch, is broken. Or in another valve inside the machine. You have to check exactly where the water is coming from.
Thank you for the detailed video. I have the exact same machine that I took apart the other day and I'm putting it back together now. One question: when you take out the conical rotor grinder underneath are 3 springs and 3 ball bearings. Are there any other similar combinations of springs/ball bearings that you ran into? However meticulous I was in the disassembly, I saw a tiny spring on my workbench that I can't trace back. I'm trying to look at some parts diagrams but they're not as detailed as I would have hoped! Many thanks in advance, greetings from Harvard, MA, USA
Hello, in the upper part, under the black plastic ring, there is another metal ball with a spring. The ball prevents the grinder from moving again during the grinding process. When turning, the ball makes the typical clicking sound 5:55. Greetings 👋
HELP!! I have a left over part and have no idea where it goes. At 5:24 in to this video I see my mystery piece. It is in the silver tray in the upper center right of the screen with bits of the top of the machine. It is the only black plastic part in that silver tray. I have had no luck finding a parts diagram where I could identify this piece. I have an Jura ENA4
Hi, using this video i have tried to do the same on my Jura eno9 however after putting everything back together in i think the right way the machine keeps on asking for beans to be refilled even though the beans are there.... anything i missed? thanks for the help! great video!
Hello, if you have disassembled the grinder you now have to make sure that it is properly adjusted again. If the grinder is set to too fine or incorrectly, it can happen that too little coffee is ground. The machine detects this and displays an error message "Filling coffee beans". Important: When screwing the long screw in the grinder, make sure that the plastic parts are properly plugged into each other.
hi when i turn on the Machine and push my choice of coffee then it doesn't even grind one bit...... it says directly on the display that i have to fill the beans....
You can try removing the burrs to make sure the grinder isn't blocked. If that doesn't help, then you need to check that the cables are connected properly.
@@yt.myworks Or you buy a normal key with a hollow shaft, you grind off the beard of the key, then give the shaft a smack with a hammer so it becomes oval and presto, you have your tool
What cleaning solution did you use (and what ratio did you mix with water) for deep cleaning internal parts. I got a Jura Z5 that was left in a garage I think and it has grime and small dead mosquitoes in the water tank, any suggestions how do I clean it? Also, what spray did you use to clean the inside of the machine?
Great video, very helpful. I know you have a lot of videos, but did you do the usual seal checking and replacement for the rest of the water flow path on this machine, even though the video doesn't show it or is it not necessary?
On a machine that has been in use for many years, I always replace all the seals, even if they still look good. Above all, however, in the area of the heater where the o-rings are exposed to high temperatures.
Great video! Ganz toll! I have the same machine and my coffee bean lid (the transparent plastic lid) is quite dirty with coffee bean oil (brown/yellow colour). What would you recommend to clean this plastic lid? Thanks/Danke im Voraus!
What tool would you recommend to unscrew the long black tube that i believe is connecting the grinder setting wheel (coarse/med/fine) to the grinder itself? I am trying to remove the grinder but am unable to do so. It looks like a 3.5mm Inbusschlussel but im not surr. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing. I was looking for something like this for a long time to do an internal clean on my JURA ENA4. So first, have to find the oval bit.
ay man I have problem. I assembled everything and then when I finally want to make coffe, it starts pouring the coffe very slowly. it eventually fills the cup but its just so slow like its struggling. can you help?
I did the same refurbish on a Ena 7. After reassembling the machine the display says "Open tap". Have no clue what to do about it, any ideas? Thx for a great video which helped me in me work.
Check that all hoses are connected correctly to the flow sensor, the direction of flow of the water is very important. Otherwise the machine thinks that the water circuit is empty.
@@yt.myworks I used ground coffee for a month. Suddenly the machine stopped working and showed "Please fill up beams" . I put coffee beams in but the machine still show "Please fill up beams" . Can you please let me know what I can do? Thank you so much! Greetings from California USA
Hello Sonia, that happens when the grinder does not produce enough coffee powder. It may mean that the grindstones are blunt. Through the filling opening you can observe how much powder gets into the brewing group during the grinding process.
Hello, I found this on the Internet: If the Jura fully automatic coffee machine only shows "Please wait", the device is clogged or has a leak at the back, or the coffee is no longer hot enough, it is often due to the thermoblock.
Hi there! Awesome video! I probably watched it 5/10 times while trying to repair a Jura ENA 7 Aroma +, which is very similar to this model. I completely disassembled and riassembled the machine. Though i'm now in a bit of a pickle.. I keep having problems with the brewing unit: in already two different occasions, while testing the machine, the silicon tubing located inside the plastic part that slides in the tube with the thread (the part with the brewing sieve) just "explodes" off (it doesn't break) as i try to make an espresso. I changed the 2 big rubber o-ring on, greased everywhere, and that silicon tube as well (all measured). It seems it doesn't hold the pressure or that there is too much pressure. Everything else (for now) seems to work. What are your thoughts? Thanks for any help :)
Hello, I recommend checking the brewing group again. I made another video on the subject. There is usually no more water pressure on the outlet hose. That's why you should check everything again on the correct assembly of the parts. ua-cam.com/video/z2cnI2h4rVE/v-deo.htmlsi=uBgWuj6FEpKCwqzo

I have one of these and need to clean. But I also have a leak somewhere. I didn't see the part where you applied the grease and changed the o-rings that you linked. Do you have more info or videos on that? Thanks.
@@yt.myworks In this video description you have links for OKS Multi Silikonfett/OKS silicone grease, O-Rings. Remarkable restoration. Any idea why a new Ena 8 won't produce hot milk? Cleaned milk system about 8 times, coffee system once. Still no hot milk, barely warm.
Most often the problem lies with the "cappuccinatore" it must be disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. All small holes inside must be free. You can also borrow another part to test if you know a Jura owner. Also try to descale the machine properly, you have to deactivate the filter function.
@@yt.myworks thank you for your response. I really have thoroughly cleaned all parts. I did some research and it appears you need to slow the milk flow so it has time to heat up while going thru the system. Jura actually have a 'restrictor' for ena9 but doesn't appear to fit my ena8?. I ordered some replacement milk parts and if that doesn't work I'm going to tweak. Btw, how the *&^%$ do you remember where are the parts go when you dismantle ???? Fascinating, I guess a wiring/parts manual would help. Fun watching the restoration process.
Hey @myworks ! Thank you for your amazing videos. I have jura ena micro 1 , the water pump was bad , replaced it and the pump only works when I turn off or some times on as the cleaning cycle but when marking coffee the pump doesn't turn on . I know the pump is good since when it gets Power it pushes water. Do you have any idea what could be the issue?
@@yt.myworks hey, no clog in the pipes because when the machine turns off it goes through the spout rinsing cycle. And the pump is audible when the rinsing cycle Is on and a good flow off hot water comes out . But when I request for coffee the pump doesn't kick in . I wonder if it's a sensor throwing it off . I opened the flow meter and cleaned it , it was clean inside and the magnet wheel spins freely. Do you know of any sensor that would prevent the pump from turning on ? There are no errors either. Goes through everything fine , Brew group is working, heater. It's just the pump that won't turn on at that coffee call state. One thing I forgot to mention is that the coffee grinder burrs are done and don't grind. Is it possible that the pump won't kick in but will go through the coffee cycle because there is no powder ?

I'd also like to buy a new logo and replace some scratched parts, as well as some hoses, like the one for the coffee as it is now black after 14 years of use.

@Jo R hm .. I don't know your machine, so diagnosis is very difficult. Will the cup still be as full as it used to be? It is possible that some of the coffee flows into the collecting container. On the other hand, it is also possible that the grinding stones are already worn out if the coffee beans are ground too coarsely.

I did this but now it seems like the coffee ground (that gets emptied in to the bin below) comes out sludgy. It seems like the ground coffee is not being compressed properly. Is there a way to adjust this?
If you assembled the brew group correctly, then it's probably the grinder that needs to be adjusted properly. The coffee powder must not be ground too coarsely or too finely.
Hello, I have an ENA4 that does not put out any liquid to the coffee spout. I refurbished the brew group, replaced the plastic drain valve cap with an aluminum version, and de-scaled the machine. When it goes through the rinse cycle, it appears the water is coming out of the bottom of the upper piston and flowing directly into the grounds container. The water does not appear to be coming out of the drain valve. I have also disassembled and cleaned all of the tubing from the top of the brew group out through the coffee spout. Water comes out of the tap just fine. Any clue as to what the problem might be?
@@yt.myworks thanks for the reply. I checked the orientation of both pistons and they seem to be correct, the riser tube is towards the back of the brew group and the lower piston also has its underside connection towards the back.
The riser pipe should be directed towards the front of the coffee machine then it is correctly installed. In rare cases it can also happen that the brewing piston has a crack and the water runs out.
@@yt.myworks Thanks again for all of your feedback. I figured out the problem. I had mistakenly put a Micro series o-ring on the upper piston. I replaced it with the right o-ring and everything works. lol!
Hi @Myworks, excellent video and great work refurbishing that machine! I've been trying to repair an ENA3 but so far without success. When the machine powers up, the electric motor moves up the piston but when it has reached the top position it keeps on going. The gear on the motor then slips on the blocked metal gear - nasty sound! Any idea what might be the problem? Thanks in advance!
Hello, try by hand if the brewing group can be easily moved up and down. If not, you'll need to put it back together properly. After that, the brewing group should be brought into the basic position before installation. Make sure that the electric motor fits properly on the long gear.
Thanks! I've not disassembled the brewing group, only taken it out of the machine and put it back. When the brewing group is out of the coffee machine it moves up and down quite smoothly (although halfway it briefly sticks a little bit), but when it is back in place the white gear only rotates with force. What is the basic position for the group when putting it back? I tried reinstalling when it is all the way down, but when starting the machine then it will just move it upwards again until the top position and then the motor gear will again slip over the long gear.
Hi, me again! I'm pretty sure that I replaced the brewing group in the basic position, but the problem still persists. No matter the position of the BG (basic position, or all the way down), the motor will always just move it up, all the way until the end and then the gears start slipping. I was wondering why the BG would be running to the top at startup, as its basic position is pretty high up to begin with. Isn't it supposed to run downwards from the basic position?
The brew group moves up and down to find the home position, which it does every time the machine is turned on. When inserting the brewing group, make sure that there is no gap between the electric motor and the brewing group.

When the “fill beans” message keeps showing. Then there is not enough coffee in the brew group. Does the grinder grind normally? Then the spout of the coffee grinder is clogged.

Hi mate, I get one of the jura coffee machine lately it doesn't form the coffee pucks correctly. Did you came across that issue I am assuming that grinder might need new mill and ring. I did clean and adjust the grinder, no luck.
The Jura coffee machines do not make pucks as firmly as, for example, Delonghi machines. It is important that the pucks are not too wet and that the grinding degree is set correctly. The coffee must therefore have a good crema and taste.

@Run Marfly first you have to bring the brew group into the basic position, this is the position ready for receiving ground coffee.

This was very satisfying to watch. I have an Era 4 that is 2 years old and the brew group appears to be struggling a bit. I'm tempted to go through it like you did here. The cleaning tabs just don't seem to do the job.
Hello, the cleaning tablets only clean from the inside and let the seals dry out a little, which makes the brewing group sound strained.
fantastic work!

Why did you changed the milk tube at 18:40?
I used a new, better quality hose

@Alejandro D Vazquez Hello, the products I use can be found in the video description below.
I have another question for you. What product did you spray on the body to clean it? Thank you.
That was just water with dish soap.
Greetings 👋

What specialized ‘bit’ are you using to remove the two black ‘lock’ screws at the start of the video? They have a shape I have never seen before.

Hello Sonia, that happens when the grinder does not produce enough coffee powder. It may mean that the grindstones are blunt. Through the filling opening you can observe how much powder gets into the brewing group during the grinding process.
I have Jura impressa cappuccinatore. "Please wait. Service required". Any suggestion?

Do you have any idea what could be the issue?
Hello, you need to make sure that no water pipe is clogged. Is the water pump audible when making coffee?
@@yt.myworks hey, no clog in the pipes because when the machine turns off it goes through the spout rinsing cycle.
And the pump is audible when the rinsing cycle Is on and a good flow off hot water comes out .
But when I request for coffee the pump doesn't kick in .
I wonder if it's a sensor throwing it off .
I opened the flow meter and cleaned it , it was clean inside and the magnet wheel spins freely.

It's just the pump that won't turn on at that coffee call state.

@Jo R hm .. I don't know your machine, so diagnosis is very difficult. Will the cup still be as full as it used to be? It is possible that some of the coffee flows into the collecting container.
Tips for cleaning the spouts? Ours seem to be a bit clogged.
You can try cleaning from below with a small brush.
It could be that you installed the brewing piston upside down. That means you have to turn it 180° clockwise.
If the large hole is open, ready to receive coffee powder, then it is the basic position.

I open the nob, the water flows normally and, after a few seconds, the machine ask to close the nob. Closed the nob, the machine ask again to open the nob to repeat the filling of the system. And so on, until the water tank be empty. I made a inspection in the circuit line of water trying to find any clog or leak and, to the water tank, passing through the pump, and after the termal block, i do not found any problems. I performed a total descaling and cleaning of my machine just after the restoration and this operations was completed without any problem. Could you please gave me any orientation of how to fix this problem?
Hello, the problem could be with the flow meter, that's the round white part. It may be incorrectly connected or blocked. Check hoses and cables to see if they are not connected backwards.
Will you do it with mine as well?
Mega Arbeit 👍👍👍☕
Great Video
Co to jest za środek którym wyczyaciłeś tacki i ociekowe?
Utleniacz 12% i słońce około pięciu godzin.
@@yt.myworks witam cie ponownie i dziekuje za poprzednia odpowiedz.
Powiedz proszę gdzie mogę dostać taki utleniacz? I jeszcze jedno pytanie, gdzie mogę kupić taki przyrząd do polerowania plastiku? Qszedzie go szukałem ale nie mogę trafić..
@@Dabrozwadowski Do polerowania możesz użyć zwykłej wkrętarki akumulatorowej z odpowiednią nasadką. Dostaniesz za grosze w eBayu. Utleniacz kupiłem na amazonie, nie musi być tej samej firmy ważne jest ile procetowy. Uwaga, to środek chemiczny i należy zachować ostrożność!
Gorgeous machine, super engineering even though 13 years old. Thank you for restoring it.
Thank you, assembling mine 😅
Please make an Imprssa e 70
Super Arbeit. Bin echt begeistert !!!
LG
love the sound effects! drinking coffee from that dirty machine constitutes a health and safety hazard, just sayin'
В видео не показано. Фиговину, за задней эмблемой, надо в сторону бочка сдвинуть. Это тоже большой кронштейн который крышки держит.
Good job
Hey mate, im in the process of restoring my ENA 5 also, do you add grease to any slides points or Orings?
Hello, the O-rings are always greased by me, everything else as needed, as seen in my other videos.
Grand savoir faire 👍👍👍 great know-how
@aksuli1 I first glued the broken parts back together, and then added 2-3 mm thick layer of epoxy glue on the top of the base plate, all around the crack. I'd use the best quality epoxy glue that you can find...
Hi. I bought 12% hydrogen peroxide like yours, put it in a film in the sun, it washed off very poorly. It's +5 outside and the sun is not very strong, is this important?
Hi, the more intense the UV sun rays, the faster and better the effect.
Nagyon szép munka Gratulálok
Geweldig.. Thanks... Greetings from Holland
Cool 👍
Jak zawsze uczta dla oczu. Chochlik też był wyczesany :o)! Zapomniałeś Bruder wymienić szlauch między zaparzaczem a wylewką. Powinien być on chyba przezroczysty ;)? Podpowiesz jakiego w Niemczech środka do czyszczenia plastiku szukać ( nazwa lub skład)? Pozdrawiam i życzę kolejnych inspiracji do prezentacji.
Dzięki za komentarz. Środek czyszczący to zwykły utleniacz do włosów, nie mam pojęcia jak sie to poprawnie nazywa. Linki do produktu znajdziesz w opisie pod video. Pozdrawiam.
@@yt.myworks Utleniacz? Hehe. Czasami proste rozwiązania są najlepsze! Ja ostatnio malowałem srebrne elementy maszyny sprejem do Alu felg, odcień jest identyczny i po co kupować nowe elementy..? Czasami warto.
Thx, So usefull video!
First of all, this is a wonderful instructional video. I would most likely do a complete renovation/refurbishing of a Jura ENA4 that I have just purchased. What you produced here is a phenomenal guide.
But before that, I'd like your thoughts about the frothing mechanism that would not extract milk nor produce frothed milk. It just dispenses hot water. I have cleaned the external components thoroughly and also the container. Not enough pressure? Your thoughts/ideas are appreciated.
Hello, it's difficult to say but it could be that the Jura outlet valve is broken.
BRAVO!!!
Hello from the hot water the water coming out but where the coffe comes out no caffe whit no water
If the coffee ends up in the drip tray then this is usually the problem ua-cam.com/video/8cx60fPQPBg/v-deo.html
Большое спасибо за видос , очень помог, помыл , почистил и резинки поменял на заварном блоке , предварительно смазав их силиконом пищевым для кофемашин

Great video, at 3:55 ua-cam.com/video/eYHWiDw_Q-0/v-deo.html after unscrewing, we miss a step to take the grinding size ring off the top. On behalf of people with limited common sense, how do we remove the ring, so that the whole top plate comes off? Thanks so much. Greetings from London
I have a reconditioned brewing unit I want to install.
I did it, you kinda wiggle it upwards. worked for me.
This ring has snags that attach it to the grinder funnel. When you remove silver cover plate next to ring, you will see the place to put screwdriver to pry the ring. Try to pull the ring sideways and up to release the snags and pull the ring off. But, I found this piece of work most critical - it is easy to break the snags.
