Depends how much bike control you have and if you rode a different discipline before hand. My buddy started on mtb and rode djs and the tiniest bit of bowl. Learned hand rails like 3rd day on bmx in the streets not even at a park. Dude could uprail within his first year. And our season is like 6 months at best.
damn man , been riding for around 4 weeks now , only just got 180s (on a quarter), this video inspires me to just push myself so much harder now to get where i want to be in riding
I reentered the sport last year after 20 years gone. It’s very difficult, very frustrating, and in my particular scene because there’s nobody to ride with. It’s kind of lonely, but I keep doing it some thing about the bike just keeps me happy deep inside.
I'm curious too. When they wrote their comment I was same height and weight, and just getting back into road cycling after 20 yrs of couch potato. I lost 50lbs and quit smoking from riding a bike.
Feeble, double peg off the a frame, and that kinda foot plant were all really impressive for 5 days of riding. though, if it were something you were continuing id reccommend staying away from tricks, focusing on the bunny hop and just feeling the bike as it flows, it really builds the fundamental feeling for the bike.
I been at it for 2 years now at 41. First time on a BMX since 8th grade. I live in Minnesota, so our riding season is limited. lol Keep practicing and peddling. Salute.
@@raw_si_siht thanks man. I’m starting to get some skills. I can air out, 180 but my fakie sucks so I usually fall. It’s fun and honestly the younger guys are always giving me pointers.
I mean it helps if you’re under pressure to learn asap and have a nice park like that AND a pro to coach you through all of it. Keep it going bro you’ll get there soon if you’re not there yet
Very cool video! Worth the watch. I've been biking most of my life. I can't "do" much exactly but riding and the freedom my bike gives me is just something I have always had!
😅 just like me ! I was a skater for 16 years just swapped to buying a bmx at 31 years old 😂 first time at the park I hit a feeble on the box and dropped into a 5ft bowl with a basic jump out! I’m really sore and my body is on fire 🔥 😂 but I think bmx is 50 times easier on my body than skating was 😂
If you need help with bikes let me know. But for online retailers you can usually find one fairly local. Dansomp in the states. 3ride in Canada and various in Europe.
SUS! 5 days really? I've been riding for months 3 to 4 times a week and not even close to doing a line like that. Sure he got a sweet bike, a nice park and a Pro as a coach, but 5 days? Is this for real? I kinda want to call BS here.
Been riding BMX for 30+years . U can learn basics very easy it's what U do with that ... That counts .. and then enjoy ... That's the key if it's not fun don't bother .. 😂
yep it's difficult..but it's true that once you get the momentum and the feel, things will be better...but again, before you get that "feel", you will fell PAIN! 😂
When it all started last year i started on a Shit as cheap bmx but I started doing tircks this year in February and got really good at it intill my shit bmx was geting broken so I saved all my money up for a way better stronger one and bought myself a wethepeople and I loved it intill my frame cracked 8 months later so I shaved up again and wanted to ride so bad then I got new cult heavens gate bmx and a wethepeople prabox? Frame and I love the new parts but I mostly ride street now
Don't buy completes once you start progressing. Buy after market parts. Odyssey stuff and Sunday has life time warranties if you are tight on cash. Their frames cost a bit more but get something like a Sunday frame not all have the warranty but they're all strong. Soundwave or any wave frame has the warranty. Anything odyssey that says 41thermal same with Sunday.
I ride bikes. Bmx exactly. Imma guess its modern bike Geo with the big bars and short rear end. Get him at fourteen inch rear end and drop the bars a half inch and maybe even a slightly longer frame till he adjusts.
Damn. It makes such a difference learning with experienced riders.
Gotta give it to him he absolutely sent everything
man's gong for it though, fair play to him for attacking like this! most people wouldn't dare go this hard in the first week of riding
I love how he has no idea how crazy it was to be able to grind down that ledge within 5 days of buying a bike 😂😂
Right?!?! Grinding a hubba is gnarly in the first week of riding.
For sure. He has heart. It also doesn't hurt having a confidence booster and guidance from a pro like Nigel.

5 days?? That is impressive! Credits to Nigel too, pushing someone makes a difference.
been riding bmx my whole life since like 5 or 6, you progressed so fast, world record status. BMX is deffinitly hard, mad props

4 weeks an 180 is pretty good man it took my about 2 months. keep up the grind like i did and you'll be amazing
Oh shit Rico again😂
Lol, I been riding for a 2 months and still I can barely J-hop and really bad bunny hops, good on y’all!
@chugitgivi7830 what about now?

Man its like that here too… mid thirties and people my age are not about having fun anymore
I’m turning 30 in two months and want in on this. 6’2” and 270lbs is gunna look goofy but I WANT it
so what happened?
I'm curious too. When they wrote their comment I was same height and weight, and just getting back into road cycling after 20 yrs of couch potato. I lost 50lbs and quit smoking from riding a bike.
I'm 44 and still rolling with bmx. Bmx is fun! ❤️🔥

8:16 it's nice to see him finally start letting go of the handlebars when bailing
lmao i just thought he was stupid the first 8 minutes of the video
Pretty cool that he went for the bonus double peg down the stairs.
It only took half an elbow to put on pads. His confidence went up when he did. 👑👑👑
From a riders perspective, you have my respect! Bmx isn’t easy.
8:03
Felt so happy for him
Mad props, great trainer.
Damn dude! That was amazing for just 5 days!
That intro was sick
Come back for a part 2 haha this was fun!
Yo, that was great. You learnt those tricks pretty quick. Damn, bmx really burn all those calories? Why the hell am I going to the gym.
BMX is way more mentally stimulating than the gym; exploration is a massive part of street riding, as construction is to dirt jumping.
that is actually very impressive. damn. he killed it! and in just 5 days? amazing
This was a good watch RESPECT coming out everyday like that
This video deserves more views
I wonder if he stuck with it. For what he learned in one week was pretty gnarly.
Damn dude, I’m 40 tryin to learn and you are better than me in days and I been at it for 3 months haha
I been at it for 2 years now at 41. First time on a BMX since 8th grade. I live in Minnesota, so our riding season is limited. lol

Getting smoked on everything then pulls Double peg down the hubba 😂 so sick

AWEsome dude ! BMX is so cool !
Bmxing for 7 months now and not even close to being as good as you

Is that a Fitbike Augie? Was gonna buy that bike but didnt havr the cash.
There's a chance for this series. Its pretty good.

Damn that was dope and inspiring! Always wanted to get into BMX! Anyone know what bike he got?
Pretty good for a newbie!
Thats awesome!!!! I dont even think my location even sells bikes :(

i'm 36, can i start learning all these tricks? :))
Denny DSU fuck yeah you can bmx is for everyone
Yup. Just grab a bike and start yo. Just remember to have fun. Even if it takes months to learn one trick.
You can start whenever you want! I started at age 12. and my brother started at 25
Hell fucking yes.
If you need any advise with bikes feel free to ask. I personally recommend wtp completes but many brands are awesome. Just make sure its full chromoly
First thing he needs to be able to do is bunny hop on flat before trying anything else and once it comes naturally to him then get more adventurous
good vid

I know this video is old, but guys, you literally found the most irrelevant and arguably most hated name in BMX to coach... power move ✊✊✊
