I comentented about this same thing in a King Diamond fan shot video a few days ago. Consorts are a social event yes, but not to have full conversations. Most people are there to witness there favorite music artists performing and have fun, sing along, dance along and share that energy back with the band. Why would anyone want to talk during a concert? First of all it's difficult with all the high volume of the music and the crowd. Secondly its completely disrespectful to the other people around you who also paid to see the artist perform. If you are simply there to talk, go fuck off and talk somewhere else, maybe at the bar or better yet, outside where you should be because you clearly are not there for the music.
Reminds me about the times when people would go to a cinema to watch a movie, not to have a chat. I stopped going there about 10-15 years ago and got myself a projector instead.

I seen Devin perform in a small club in Ottawa doing an acoustic set around 2012 and there was people doing the same stuff, not paying attention, getting smashed and being dicks. He can handle it so well because he's been doing it for so long. One of a kind.
The best part of this is he totally could have not done any of this, but the fact that he did means it was genuinely bothering him and he had to have realized the ridiculousness of his own ego during this very song to make it work as a bit that he went ahead and did it anyway. And that my friends is humility in a nutshell.
