He does it very often actually. Just this year he has retired from 4 or 5 matches, all of them immediately after losing a set. There's even one match, where he retired during a tie break, right after losing both points on his serve 😂
Yeah he holds umpires and tournament organizers to an impossibly high standard yet he's simply unable to follow a single tennis etiquette rule during a match. Just the amount of talking in between points is enough to annoy any real tennis fan. And I'm not even talking about his tiresome routine of making a huge deal out of the tiniest of details, that usually ends up in multiple broken rackets. Every. Single. Match. Not even during the Wimbledon final he was able to keep his mouth shut. Had to throw a tantrum about some shit nobody really cares.
Their match was so good too. I watched the highlights and it was on a very high level (given that it’s a challenger). Andreev was #3 in junior rankings in the Korda/Lehecka cohort but hasn’t made it near the top 100 yet.
The supervisor is never going to overrule a judgment call by the chair umpire. That'snot their job. They're only going to get involved if the chair umpire misinterprets a rule or if there is a non-tennis call to be made.
Karatsev had a fantastic run for a few months and now seems to be quickly going back to his old self. All it takes is a couple of unforced errors and he mentally implodes. That's exactly what made him stay for so long in the challenger scene, despite his obvious talent, and he'll be back there pretty soon if doesn't improve mentally.
He usually throws it upwards lately when he loses good points but he tries to catch it when its falling, this time he just didn't control the flight well and it went too far forwards, but adel nour is the worst umpire along with damien dumosois and another certain carlos ramos.

To me it looks like he’s just putting the ball away/clearing it from his way as he saw it was out. Players do this all the time. He did it very lightly and it did not go to the crowd, or at least he had zero intent in that. It was a ridiculous penalty and in a tiebreak, I’d be so mad.
Cant stand Nick Kyrgios. When he mishits or looses a point, he blames the ref, the crowd, the big screen etc. Refs should punish him more imo. Gets away with way too much.
Again, several occasions when it's a debate of "was it a late call", "did the call interfere with the shot". Come on, ATP, it's 2022 and still nobody thought of the solution that line judges should wait until the ball is hit, then wait 1 more second, and then say out. Much clearer, and no interference that way. The way things are now, I must agree with Moutet that it's a "coin flip" in these situations.
