Awesome as usual. You can also cut a small block of wood to use as a spacer, as to always aline the matt in same place

Great tutorial on how to cut the stencil and a good tip not removing the mat & recutting it. Glad I watched as I would have pulled the mat out check if it cut.
What mat do I use to put the Mylar sheet on please & what blade would you recommend?
I have bought some Mylar sheets and am wanting to have a go at creating my own stencil, I’ve not done this before and would rather ask questions as it saves mistakes and I find it easier to learn from someone else who knows how to use the materials correctly.

Caszx, I just use a standard blade with a standard grip mat. Here is a like to the first video with the settings and links to the product. ua-cam.com/video/TnDADsmLYSs/v-deo.htmlsi=HzhgktoMKpQp9v_v I hope this helps, and thanks for watching.

My cricuit "freezes" part way through cutting. I've tried troubleshooting several times, but won't work. (flashing red button) getting so frustrated! Is my machine too old? Any suggestions? Thanks!

T5, I have never experienced that. I would reack out to Cricut directly. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

really like the video....however.....I cut several stencils using a borrowed Explorer Air 2 with no problem. Got a brand new Maker 3 and have nothing but issues. First, I couldn't get it to cut the test smart vinyl.....But back to my stencils. I am finding that it is very sporadic on how deep and where it cuts. On my 3rd try, it cut a complete Celtic Knot 8.75" x 9.2". My settings were 4 passes at 307 pressure. It completely missed one section and on 2 sections it made a light indention, but never cut all the way through. Tried a brand new blade and a brand new mat. Suggested by Cricut support to lessen the pressure but increase the passes. At 5 passes at 300 it didn't cut through at all, but it was consistent across the whole design, including the lines it skipped previously. Thoughts?

Jaci, I don't have a maker 3 but I would assume it should perform better than the older Air 2 like I have. I would contact them and ask for a new one.

Thanks. Cricuts last suggestion was to check the internet. They hear a lot of people having issues with Mylar. So just keep trying different settings.

Hi in addition how do you clean the mat and get rid of the cut marks
If you already have a video please list. Ty

518 Fish it, I'm not sure what you mean by cut mark. The mat is a "self-healing" mat. Now, if you are getting deep cut marks that are visible and you can feel. You are cutting too deep, and it is probably time to change your mat. Now, when it comes to cleaning off leftover mylar or any dust or debree after weeding, I scrap it with a razor blade. I hope this helps. Thanks for the question, and thanks for watching.

Dan Could you please tell me if the Circut Explore 3 cut the mylar as well? Please let me know thanks

CK, I'm sorry, I do not have the explore 3, but I would only think that a newer version would do even more than the previous version. I totally expect it would.

    Hi, great videos
I have a big problem with my creations.
I want to make a stencil in several parts, so that it forms a 40/40 square.
I have already assembled the model on illustrator/photoshop
It doesn't cut in the right places.
However, I place the cutout at angle 0 of the cricut mat. The machine should follow the model, right?
    thank you

MN, I don't use illustrator, but this is how I have layered my multi layer stencils in Design Spacw. I hope this helps. ua-cam.com/video/p9jx0D_D9GI/v-deo.htmlsi=2gQT46zwyYxyv0r4

What kind of mat are you using? Standard, strong, or fabric grip?
