    Tip: if you used the shims inside the diff.you don t need to. Everything will be too tight. Only the blue seals. And also those metallic parts holding the cross pins inside the diff house,you should use the ones from the "non metallic" diff house. Not the ones from the metallic diff house. Try this,and believe me will not fail.

    I just did my rear differential this morning. Shocking I didn't find any dirt inside. I put in a good amount of grease inside hollow tube sections and inside the diff itself. I used some simple silicon sealant I bought from Home Depot in a good size tube to help keep all the dirt out. I tested my truck and seem to get a performance boost out of it even getting 2 wheels up off the ground. I didn't have the body cover on because I shoo goo'd the shell to make it stronger. I hope you have better success keeping the dirt out of your diff! 😏

    I really wanted to get a udr but I don't think I'm gonna pay that kind of money if the diffs aren't sealed enough to keep SAND out!

      Hopefully, when they release an 8s version (like the XMaxx), the diffs will be better. Thanks for showing us what can happen with the current vehicle.

      keep in mind it does not come with a rear diff, it comes with the spool like I show in the end, the diff was my idea to put in using parts that make the conversion happen. For this truck the rear spool is stock and is the best way to keep it.

    • @walterholliday4797
      @walterholliday4797 6 років тому +1

      What are you doing to try an stop the sand? Can you tell if the point of entry is where the third member half's go together, where the third member plugs into the axel housing, or in through the axel ends? Noticed a vid showing the bottom of the front diff housing has the a arm attachment pins running through them... I will definitely be using RTV there and prolly at all points of juncture on the rear end... Surely we can seal it up...

    So why did they fail to begin with...? Where you running them on 8s and just over torqued it? Could the parts have just been faulty, ie not heat treated well..? Did you leave out the shims that we're supposedly "ok" to do so...? If one of the shafts wasn't heat treated properly it would've caused the other to go... Hadn't had any front diff probs so it's either a metal casing/misaligned problem or it's inherent to the rear axel design differences... I have all those parts hadn't installed a thing yet .. Waiting on the GPM order and I'm gonna run the spool first anyways just to feel it.... Why did you want it, was it for the rollover problem? I think that can be solved with a little preload on the shocks and a much stiffer sway bar .. We touched on that briefly; you learn anything else there? I'm full of questions lol... I'll have more to contribute in about a week once I get the parts and some run time... FyI Amazon floureon 4s 5500 35c times two fits perfectly in the stock battery box with a little finagling... Got the TP lol it's twice what came in it 9000 peak watts that's 12.6 horsepower, ish... LMAO!!

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  6 років тому

      Yeah I doubt I’ll get all those answered. But the shins didn’t fit in the cup, as in they were way too thick so I left them out and it was still tight. The center pins broke and if you listen closely you can hear the skip at one point in the video. I wanted to try it for better handling and to make it more raceable and it did fine on the track but it just didn’t survive. I’ll keep the spool in the back. Yeah TP motors are super strong. I’ve got a swaybar in the back with 1/8” stainless but it holds memory too much. I’ve got spring steel ordered to build it right. You should join the new group I made. There is a link in the description for that.

      @@ExocagedRC that would be be cool to come out with some sway bars or something, it seems like all Traxxas trophy truck model have a flipping problem but the 10th scale's have solutions like sway/roll bars and the LGC chassis for the 2wd.
