Lol. The energy you have man they gotta know this shit is GOAT. You will be one of the biggest ones doing this one day.
Max Luv. We gone link up soon.
Sounds good 👍
Thank you so much. I was going absolutely nuts not understanding why the brightness was so flat in SDR gaming.
Love your energy and passion for OLEDS and TVs!❤
Second to none!
I had this app since the first day I purchased my C3 LG OLED that had been working in shop mode. I used the app to access the service menu for the sole purpose of finding out how many on-hours my unit had (as only customers on US based firmware can view this information directly in the "about TV/information" menu) and yes, I saw a ton of other useful options for the random LG OLED TV owner.
Remember the good old days when you just had a few turning knobs and that was it?
Dude thank you so muuuuuch! I bought the LG C3 and I was honestly dissapointed in a lot of ways, the most important one was brightness, a cheapass 1080p TV I had was brighter than the C3, after this I can finally get an acceptable brightness that actually makes the image impactful and impressive, I also use Black Stabilizer on 14, it helps the image to appear brighter (even tho it isn't) and at 14 it doesn't affect colors that much.
Awesome!
Just tried this on my C1 48', looks way better! The only issue i noticed is the ABL appears more aggressive. Maybe that's why they greyed out the setting? But then that's a fault of their algorithm. Hopefully the G3 patch will come to C1,C2 owners. Overall I recommend turning this on, Thanks Plasma!
You could try to soften the abl by reducing contrast to 80-85, does that help?
@@gbhxvohdchigblkh4620 It helps a little but with BFI on, the brightness loss is significant compared to contrast 97-100.
THANK YOU! I can finally use high peak
brightness for gaming, I just with I can change all color settings and super resolution on PC mode
On My LG G3, Best Ps3/Xbox360 (sdr game) settings: Filmmaker mode + 4:4:4 pass trough on!(this is important for low latency) + Peek Brightnes High. Very very bright and accurate picture with low latency
Thanks for sharing 👍
Ur getting more input lag with filmmaker mode instead of game mode
I'll tell you more, this application even works for regular TV applications)) You just turn on any application you want, for example, Netflix in Dolby Vision, you change the setting on the PC and it will change it))
That's interesting, I thought only HDMI devices would work
After 22 months of ownership, I find this awesome information!!!!! 👍 Excellent content good sir. 🥇 Ciao, Pierre.
Great Video! I need to test this. Thanks Buddy 😊
Cool tips
Thanks
I think your tutorial is very useful, because i noticed this restriction and the low sdr brightness of the C2 right away too and definetly wanted to change it. But it could be, not necessarily but possibly, it could be dangerous to play with this setting. To me the most likely reason LG turned this off / greyed out peak brightness for game mode is the risk for burn in or permanent burn in. I know, the HUD in gaming scenario also applies for other dashboards in dozens of apps like youtube for example, or external tv boxes and so on. There are various examples for that.
But my guess is there are some parameters or functions like input lag, reactiveness or the different ABL handling e.g. in game mode which could influence the longivity of the C2 OLED panel in a different way. This is at least what i assume. The reason i'm mentioning it is that after about 8 month of usage i already have beginning signs of burn in right after turning on my xbox, remaining for not quite 10-20 seconds on the dashboard an then switching to the settings section with the grey background and hello, here it is already. I was using high peak brightness on this specific hdmi input and console for less than 3 months i guess, this very infrequently.
I just would like to call attention to be careful with this option. There must be a reason for LG's decision to turn it off, although i do not approve this kind of restriction either, especially if it has been enabled in the previous model, which i do have also and so far did not had any issues with it. Maybe it is not such a bad idea to leave it as it is if it does NOT bother your that much. To be honest it did in my case, it is not bright enough for me in SDR without this setting.
Same risk as using HDR where peak brightness is high all the time. I also disable TPC and GSR to prevent any dimming other than ABL, that will definitely increase the risk of burnt-in but I wouldn't like the TV if those options were not available
thats not burn in its temporary image retention.
Duuuuuude! You're kidding me, I had no idea. This does make OLED motion pro "high" more viable on console. I still notice the flickering but it helps with the brightness. I always thought it was just the output of the PS4 was inherently darker than the signal coming out of my PC. Since I don't want my TV to be constantly connected online, I like the fact that you can set peak brightness high, disconnect wifi & forget it. Mucho gracias sir.
Try these settings for OLED Motion pro high ua-cam.com/video/rjb8cPKJ4e0/v-deo.html
How did you manage it to work? The colorcontrol app works perfectly on my pc (even turning tv on and off when pc start/stutdown.) But if I choose another hdmi port - there is nothing changes. Wherever port I choose, it make changes on port which my pc is connected to.
@@victorfit_x I had my mouse cursor on the colorapp menu ready to click "High" on peak brightness. Then while having my console on, I switched the source/input to my console. Then click on the mouse (I can't see the PC screen at this point) but I knew it worked because every time I clicked, it would toggle from high & off, and I noticed the screen difference live.
@@ThoonderG you are genius, that worked haha
Great application. I've used it to force hdmi input icons to change into PC mode. For some reason, using an AVR caused me to be unable to change an HDMI 2 on my G1. That, paired with forcing changes to greyed out options like color gamut and peak brightness, massively useful.
Taking advantage of High Peak Brightness for SDR gaming on my PC will be much more enjoyable, and can put the heatsink on my EVO panel to good use haha.
Peak brightness in sdr will desaturate some colors due to white subpixel dilution, at least on non mla panel models.
Yes, you can get the color saturation back with Native color gamut
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 too a certain degree, maybe, but you will lose accuracy
@@gbhxvohdchigblkh4620accurate meaning washed out and dull.
I can change the gamut on my G2 in gaming mode. All I need is TruMotion to be enabled in gaming mode. Btw. peak brightness is set on high without PC by disabling VRR and ALLM. Enabling them again keeps the setting.
True Motion doesn't exist in game Optimizer mode, so even if you try to activate it, it doesn't work. Same for Smooth gradation.
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 Is it because LG hates gamer or technically just not possible?
Forget this. In gamer optimizer user I can’t access those settings. I forgot I had HGL active with a SDR game.
I changed real cinema for my nvidia shield device on the filmmaker mode which was locked. The app is amazing🙂
Did it improve?
This HDR things become so complicated 😯 I totaly lost in all this tv pc app settings 🙃
In this video, I'm talking about SDR. But I recommend this video to understand HDR gaming settings ua-cam.com/video/P-eq1jedgIs/v-deo.html

Hi I was thinking of getting lg c3 but tv expects saying the samsung s90c was better because it was brighter in game mode but samsung doesn't have dolby version thanks to this app I can get the c3 now and don't have to worry anymore ❤
I meant vision lol
I would still recommend you an S90C if you have a completely dark room
The tv will be in my living room we're I can turn on the lights if it gets dark
You are the reason I just bought the G4 instead of the A95L. I wasn't sure about SDR brightness because of this 🖕 to all gamers from LG. It works and I love it 😊 Thanks!!
Sony doesn't let you turn off dimming to protect (called TPC and GSR on LG)
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 yeah, the dimming is one of the reasons I didn't want the A95L. You're the best. I went from plasma to OLED and completely skipped LED 😎
I have the LG c9 and turned Th brightness up full blast and have played hours on end and never an issue with burn in
This is great dude! Thanks a lot. And by the way, do you think that LG could maybe change his mind and come back with BFI working at 120Hz, with a future firmware upgrade, or it just seems impossible?
It's not possible to fix it with a firmware update because it requires hardware to do the 240Hz PWM. Otherwise, I would do a tutorial on how to change any LG into any LG by completely hacking the software and installing the corresponding firmware, which is possible to do.
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 That's too bad :( it would be such an improvement for motion handling.
The Motion interpolation of C2/C3 are much better than the C1, though (De-Judder De-Blur options)
Perfect, thank you! 😍
Thank you so much for your knowledge - appreciate that!
I have LG c1 TV but ColorControl says ''it seems there's no LG TV avaliable! make sure its connected to the same network as this PC. '' can you help ??
Yes, click add manually and enter the IP and MAC address ( go to wifi on TV and inside more networks you'll see info)
if you put peak brightness high in sdr with oled brightness 100. that is bad. you will burn out ur screen fast. hdr is different from sdr
It will definitely worn out the TV faster and increase the risk of burning. I couldn't care less, I'm sure my TV will outlive its usefulness
Not if you use BFI. BFI dims the screen. Peak brightness ON with BFI makes BFI high better.
@@campos3452 BFI doesn't dim the screen BFI keeps the screen off for longer there is a difference.
Nice, basically turn your C into a G series, but without the heat sync !
Seriously though LG should unlock peak brightness in all standard profiles on all LG TVs with BFI. It’s a game changer if using BFI.
Absolutely
I tested the input lag with Peak Brightness off and High, the average input lag of many tests was almost the same, I did however noticed a temporal increase in input lag when the ABL was doing it's thing while I was testing (as the image was static most of the time), while ABL is lowering the brightness there is a slight input lag increase, once it adjusts the brightness it will go back to being low input lag as before, however this is nothing to worry about as you will be playing so the image will be changing constantly thus ABL will rarely be activated.
Thanks for sharing. That's interesting
Always had dithering issues until today, it was a 6 bit buffer!
Yes, you can smooth out the color banding with the Colorcontrol app

Mine doesn't have " Show Advanced Action". Can this app stop the auto-dimming? If so. How?
They changed the place where that option is. I posted a guide in a Community post
Disabling TPC and GSR will eliminate all dimming other than ABL
i just tested it in GTA (60fps) on the xbox series X
it does add some input lag, it was the first thing i noticed when i started up the game, its ever just slighty though, but it was enough for me to miss some shots, so for competetive play i wouldn‘t bother with it, but i assume most casual gamers wouldnt really notice it
i would assume its less noticeable on 120hz games
Peak Bright. on „Low“ is the least noticable, but still
its less input lag then when you put it in HLG mode on the secret menu, but it doesnt color the Picture, so thats a +
ty
You might be experiencing a placebo effect. The input lag doesn't change with that setting for the same reason it doesn't change on HDR.
@@plasmatvforgaming9648
it does, and it def does when you start up a Game with HDR. its noticeable in 120hz games too, thats why i always play in SDR , expect Horror Games
im very sensitive to responsiveness,
im pretty sure other Competetive Players notice it too
we‘re talking about very low numbers here though, (0.2-2ms) i wouldnt expect it for others to notice it, ive seen you game on Plasma TVs so i wouldnt think you would care about responsiveness as much as i do though
its probably a lil bit different in the feel with a Mouse on PC, something to be considered too, i play with Controller on a Console.

I have a few questions if you can answer.....
Shall i wait for 200 hours so the tv gets worked in,before i switch off tpc?
There is an option for the icon brightness, now in the normal menus, does this.mean we dont have to touch GSR?
I have an old laptop ,with windows 7 😄, would colour control app run on that or no chance?
Ive been downloading 4k hdr ultra hd movies and running them with usb and media player, i just wish it was a little brighter, would turning tpc off make this brighter ? or is it the media player.
I havent got any netflix or disney where im at so,it is what it is.
Love the content brother, keep it coming.

I turn off TPC and GSR to prevent all dimming other than ABL. The regular menu aren't enough
I'm not sure if Colorcontrol app would work on Win7
TPC and GSR are global and will affect everything
Thanks for the response brother🙏
I checked the site for colour control app and it says that tpc and gsr are no lomger needed to be switched off for 2022-2024 model LG ...apparently.
Anyway ,much respect.
Looking forward to your next video.
Have a great day 👑
I personally unlock the peak brightness for other mods, since in the game it is lower
LG should've had peak brightness unlocked.i just wonder if it adds input lag.
It doesn't add input lag at all. HDR has that on High, and there's no additional input lag
First of all, I just want to say your work and effort is incredible! I have been researching this issue and trying to find a fix for so long.
I have a quick question! I have a LG B3 OLED TV and have been experiencing issues with auto dimming due to TPC and GSR. I bought a service remote to access the service menu, but apparently LG has now locked out access to the TPC and GSR sections in the service menu. So EVEN WITH A SERVICE REMOTE, I am unable to turn off TPC and GSR.
Is using Color Control App going to be any different? Or has this new update LG has done on TVs like mine (B3 OLED) blocked access to TPC and GSR even in Color Control? Please help, I have been up for so many nights, trying to find a solution... Thanks!
This made me laugh 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the reminder about this app, I have to get into it
First of all, congratulations on the content! I just bought an LG C4 to use with the Xbox Series X, what settings do you recommend to get the best image and brightest? I'm still unsure whether the best image is playing in HDR or Dolby Vision, I have the idea that Dolby Vision tends to darken the image a little more compared to HDR, at least in Call of Duty Warzone.

@@pedro_ferreirinhahey man,ive got a c3 and ive been researching how to get the best picture for console, what i have found has helped me and i hope this helps you:
Switch off VRR on your console.
Make sure ALLM is switched on,this will make the tv have the same input lag as game optimiser,so you wont be using game optimiser.
Use filmmaker mode:
Oled pixel 100.
Contrast 100.
Colour 55 or whatever you want.
Black level 49 or 52 depends on the game.
Colur gamut auto, native causes input lag.
DTM on ,or force HGIG through color control app, which will make you have less input lag,but if cant do that then DTM is fine.
Re adjust HDR on your console after doing these settings.
Im not sure about XBox coz i have a pS5 but it should work the same.
You van also have HDR always on with DTM ALLM anD FMM,this will add even more brightness and Warzone looks good on my end.
Ive forced HGIG with color control app so my settings are.....
HGIG you get to keep the extra 100 nits that come with DTM,but VRR needs to be off.
ALLM
Film Maker Mode

I was wondering exactly what Peak Brightness does in terms of the brightness curve. If it's only changing the peak nit level and then rolling off near white-values, why do lower and mid tones also change? Is it rolling off that far down?

Unrelated (apologies) but my C9 finally started to show panel defects conveniently past warranty (or maybe I never noticed). There are tiny black spots (dead pixels) all along the edges and mostly concentrated along the top-center edge. It's not very noticeable especially if you watch TV content that has some form of letterboxing. Just curious if you have any experience or heard about this from others who may have older panels. A quick search pointed me to this article that says tiny water droplets (humidity maybe?) could get into the panel and cause these dead pixels.
The only thing that I can think of is doing a manual pixel cleaning, a long one
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 I'm actually gonna see how it progresses from here as it's really not too bad (as another user has a similar issue, a Pixel Refresh made his panel even worse). Absolutely. For console gaming get an S90C or S95C to play with low latency motion interpolation and get 120fps out of 60 or even 30fps. Only get a QDOLED like the S95C if you're on a completely dark Room, otherwise get a C1/G1 of available (to get 120bfi) or C2/G2 (if C1/G1 isn't available, just because C2/G2 don't support 120bfi).
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 thanks for this advice, i appreciate it man.
can someone help me. for some shit reason, my tv does not want to connect. i keep getting "error execting action: not connected" my tv did not connect automatically even theough they are on the same network. so i tried manually adding abut it still doesnt connect.
I'd say try a different PC, HDMI input, different wifi, ethernet port, manually enter the info again with IP and MAC address
Does using this app make things look better than going into the service menu? If I have my pc connected to an hdmi port and unplug that cable and connect my console to that same port, do I lose the settings from the app? Is this only working for game mode and not for movies? A lot of questions here, thanks for the video 👍
The settings should stay, but you don't have to do that, just change the settings of the HDMI port the console is connected to.
It works for any mode
On the service menu you have the option to disable dimming if you want by turning off TPC and GSR (which I do). Also on the service menu there's an option that gives you even more brightness on SDR but reduces the brightness on HDR, it's called Module HDR, turn it ON for max SDR brightness and Normal for max HDR brightness (Normal is the default)
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 I have home cinema, Nintendo switch, tv box and xbox connected. So I don't have any ports left. That's why I unplug the xbox when I want to play on pc.
Plasma, do you tried change oled motion pro setting with VRR enabled?
It doesn't work. It's technically possible to have VRR and BFI, but they actually have to work on it.
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 I mean with the controlapp. Without it I know dont work.
After trying color control app all I did was adgust the gamma for re4 remake on the ps5 and noticed the frames have looked like they are skipping. I dont know how to fix that 🤷♂️ Hasnt happend to me before on my second playthrough.
The Gama settings aren't locked on SDR. On HDR don't change the Gama, leave it at the default 2.2. Otherwise, is going to look bad
Thank you brother keep the knowledge coming, Love your videos !
Anybody knows why LG is graying out settings that can be changed? Like what the actual reasoning behind this is. Thanks.
When it comes to peak brightness locked on Game Optimizer mode, it's just a middle finger to gamers. They want to reduce the risk of burning with games. The rest of the settings, it's just the Apple mentality believing that most customers are dumb and it's better to give them fewer options to mess
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 That actually makes sense. Such a pity and kind of frustrating, because it feels like being a toddler who can't be trusted to be responsible with the fucking TV he bought. Anyway, thanks for the quick reply, brother!
how to do this from a mac?
I don't know if the app has a Mac version.
Are those settings blocked on all LGs or only on c series? Are those also blocked on g3?
All LGs including G3
Hm, the app says it can't connect (but it detects my TV). Might be because I'm using my VPN? I'll try again after work (which is what I'm using the VPN for).
The TV needs to be connected to the same network, check the Wi-Fi on the TV
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 Ah, I bet that's the issue. My PC is connected via Ethernet cable while my TV is connected via WiFi. Fortunately my PC also has a WiFi receiver, so I can try switching to that.
Do you recommend me to change the color gamut from auto to native on hdr? I've increased the depth to 55
No, HDR is on BT2020 and it will get as saturated as the TV can when the content calls for it. SDR is on Rec709 and selecting Native (dcip3) won't be accurate but it might look better especially when you push more brightness than SDR should have. A wider color gamut can go along with higher brightness
For example - on the C2, I leave it on Auto and Color Depth 50 to see the creators intent and If I don't like that then I might bump Color Depth to 55 max, no more and I am talking about games here, usually a game with good HDR has the colors on point and also, with games, you don't need to be accurate everytime :) go crazy, the only problem you might have is color clipping
I just purchased lg c2 a month ago and i am facing way too low brightness can you make a video to get highest possible brightness on my c2 i will be highly obliged if u can do that
You can try eliminating all dimming other than ABL by disabling TPC and GSR on the service menu at your own risk. I showed how to do that here ua-cam.com/video/5rw2UM8_404/v-deo.html
I am a novice but if you go to store mode is much brighter
I'll tell you a secret, if the TV loses the HDMI signal, then you can change all these settings while the pictures are playing for you, and when you reconnect the HDMI port, these settings are saved))), but you won't be able to raise the peak brightness for the game mode, although in other modes you can
Interesting, thanks for sharing

this also works when you are on the Input Screen on the LG where you can see the Screen of your current Input alongside other settings outside of your PC or Console
then you click for example on Xbox to turn on HDR or Dolby Vision, you can adjust the settings while the Screen Turns black for a few seconds lol
Do you need to do each time or just once?
Just one, it'll stay
Wish this was available for Mac
So you can wash out the colors and damage the creators intent? Games are literally designed on calibrated monitors and Macs especially are pre-calibrated to those standards
@@tonyoramos1 No I’m a PS5 gamer
@@underdogeatdog the same goes for your TV, games are designed on calibrated TVs

stoped working after last lg update. i get it downloaded but it does nothing.
Just connect the tv to the wifi. It's probably disconnected after the update
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 got both tv and pc are hard wired . Windows 11 keeps telling me it’s incompatible app. The download windows stops it I override it. Launch the ap windows stops it so override that. Then open the app try and make a change and nothing happens but a bunch off errors that make no sense. Run trouble shooter . Not compatible.
My OLED tv start giving me eyes strain and a terrible headache i tried to lower the Pixel brightness but with no results i can work with my phone for hours with no issues just the lg oled tv do that to me and i don't know how to fix that pls help.
You need to try blue light killer settings, blue lights are nasty for the eyes
Example

Try Warm 50, 2 points calibration High blue-50, green-22

hmm dont understand what do i download do i need to download NET 7 or what or just color control?great video otherwise thanks
Download the Colorcontrol app, link in the description
Is there anything for this for Sony BRAVIA series?
Not that I know of
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 What a shame :(
Most hilarious guy on youtube😂
Can u add srgb or adobe rgb?
The options need to exist on the TV for them to work. For example, De-Blur doesn't exist in Game Optimizer mode, so trying to force it with the app won't work
I dont understand the need to get brightness more and more, i just dot get it. Maybe is my eyes, maybe is my stupid LG TV or maybe is my stupid Xbox Series. When i play Forza Motorsport 8 or Horizon 5 and i am against the Sun, i can't see the road, is to bright.
After you get perfect blacks the brighter the better. Not to mention that brightness can be used to get better Motion clarity by reducing the persistence
Somebody knows if this app works on G3?
Most likely, they update the app constantly. I'll check it out with TKK
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 fantastic thanks
