I played much in Lotus 3 on my early PC on 80486DX4 100 MHz CPU when I was child. It was quite good game! Amiga sound card was definitely better than Sound Blaster at those times.
+Blaze Rhodon Amiga don't have a soundcard in stock , of course you can added 16 bit music card but in stock version amiga have a special chip for sound name Paula . She can generate full stereo music :)

Unfortunately most of music composers/sound designers were lazy and used MIDI which has poor quality compared to sampled sound or even FM synthesis (FM synth chips Yamaha YMF262 OPL3 used in Sound Blaster were very poor used by implementing MIDI intruments). I know that sound quality of Amiga were not very good compared to PC sound cards, especially Gravis Ultrasound at these times, but most composers were not eager to take advantage of it.

These games 2 player was awesome. great split screen racer! I've given the games in this series plenty of hours racing against my friends back in the 90's! Good times.

Great video, the dreaded mountain level I hated it. I swear in the manual it said there was no fuel stop on the mountain level too! Probably the best driving game I've ever played 1st: Lotus 3 Amiga 2nd: Formula 1 97 Playstation 3rd: Toca Touring Cars 2 Playstation 4th: Gran Turismo Playstation 5th: Wipeout 2097 or V-Rally Playstation My opinion!
I think that Lotus series were better than those 90's Need For Speed games. 2D graphics still look pleasant. And look at those mid 90's 3D games, they are like 240p puke video now, and even the car physics were like you were driving on a frozen lake.
Yes. Windy race is extremely difficult. I played this route on PC but on Amiga windy race is even harder. You have to got much luck to complete this race even if you drive Lotus Elan SE.
I just played Lotus 1, 2 and 3 and I think this is the best version. The music might be a bit better in Lotus 2, so is the frame rate. The improved graphics and AI makes it slower but I think the much more improved setup options and levels makes up to it. Only level I don't like is the futuristic with lasers guns and turbo zone, feels weird.
I like how the car stays nice and smooth on Amiga. Genesis version of this game aka Lotus ii Recs, the car shakes the entire ride and the gimmick just looks plain annoying. The 1st lotus for Genesis kept it smooth n still just like this.
at 48:00 when you started the construction race, the one thing unfair i find about that race is: YOUR OPPONENTS WENT THROUGH THE SIGNS AND ROCKS, WITHOUT GETTING HIT!!!!
i never had an Amiga, but i played DOS version, this is very superior to DOS (sound) but i though it will have sound fx in race :( like car sound, and engines etc.. no differences between DOS version

Had so much fun with this game back in the day. Played the dos version tho.
I like this game from middle 1990's. Many tracks was difficult for 1-3 places. Nice walkthrow. Final track with almost zero fuel is impressive.

the music is great....i played this game a lot on my amiga 500 and later on the 600 in the early 90's...awesome game...thx 4 upload

There is no Lotus 1 or 2 on the PC. Only Lotus Ultimate Challenge (which is Lotus3 conversion)
