I did want to fact check myself on the product packaging sustainability question: on the Rhode site they say: Pocket Blush packaging is made with upcycled post-consumer (PCR) materials. They have a little breakdown between the cap and the body of what it’s made from and they also have instructions on how to recycle. So gotta give them credit for that!
ivy!! yay!! loved this type of video. i think sometimes folks act like marketing is unnecessary but this really seems to showcase why branding/marketing can make or break a product’s success in the zeitgeist
I thought this was really a perfect example of how sometimes marketing can make a product better, even if IRL it's actually just fine. And YAY, thank you for watching love!
Commenting for the algorithm. I appreciate hearing your perspective on makeup and design because we have different experiences, approaches, and opinions; I always end up with a different perspective! No need to apologize for being a human living a life!
i’m not a hailey lover or hater, but i actually do reallllly like rhode beauty. their pineapple face wash is an essential and the price point is awesome. i also like the peptide lip treatments as well. i have the shades piggy, toasted teddy, and sleepy girl shades on my wishlist because those shades scream out to my soul. i wasn’t able to get their LE shade when they released the small amount they had online but it sold out in less than 15 minutes. i don’t mind the packaging but there’s no way it’d never fit in any pocket, but rhode has great marketing. i wish persona would come out with shades like these, because i love their cream formula. 🥰🥰🥰 ps.. i loveeee your lipstick and i hate that i can’t buy it. i need an orange like that in my life!!! 🧡🧡🧡
I was immediately drawn to your lip then realize I have Orange Fizz 😂 I can’t stand the Haley Bieber phenomenon so have never been interested in Rhode but I always love to hear your musings!
Personally they last me the day. Even after going to the gym lmao. I do however use them with no makeup. If i were to use a full makeup face to mix with these i would use something else because i do think mixing it with other products it would go away. Works for me though bc i only use a full face for parties, not every day.
That’s sort of been my experience as well. When I use them by themselves with nothing else they have worn a bit better than when I use them in the context of a full face.
@@Betterthanbasicivy i think people also forget rhode is mostly a skincare brand. So i think of these blushes like glossier, kind of sheer natural looking makeup for daily rather than something i would want a full face for
Even knowing that the packaging is made with PCR, it still irritates me how chunky the packaging is. I've never been that interested in Rhode as a brand so these wouldn't be something I'd pick up but I do have to admit that Toasted Teddy is a very pretty shade.
I wonder if the ugliness is part of the appeal? HLP did a fashion video and i remember her mentioning something like this about Gen Z and their long socks 😂 Something about it being awkward and ugly but also cute and charming and a little cheekily rebelious. The packaging literally reminds me of rodent poo, but also like the capsule inside a Kinder Egg. So weird yet compelling. Im not gonna buy it, but i do think it occupies an interesting place in the makeup landscape and i wonder if we'll see other brands follow Rhode's lead.

These have enticed me so badly, but knowing all these details about them takes them off my wishlist. Even as beautiful as Toasted Teddy looks!
I’m glad if my review can do that! I do think the fantasy far outweighs the reality.

Pull out Orang Fizz again! I forgot how absolutely stellar it is. All of Bite really (still mourning the loss).

The shades are honestly the main reason I’ve continued to use them. I loved the colors they came out with.
I’m not a cream blush person, so I can avoid the love 😅
I'm safe too lol. I don't like cream or liquid cheek products.
Tower 28 would be pocket blushes with how thin and compact they are lol
💯!

Bless you ❤️

The rodent poop comparison really got me 😂
