I learned about Flex from this channel, and I bought 2 of their circular saws, and their cordless circular saws are the best on the market, in terms of the price, and performance. The Flex circular saws have the highest blade speed, and they sound about 50% quieter with less gear whine than the "Red" brand. I later bought a Flex compact drill, and it also sounds amazing, the motor is much less shrill than the M18 drill of comparable size. The circular saws from Flex both are dead straight and parallel. I had to return 2 (M18) red saws because the foot plates were not parallel to the blade. And something really alarming is that I made a video showing how much better the Flex 7 1/4" sidewinder saw is (quieter, perfectly aligned foot plate, good ergonomics, no loud gear whine) than an M18 circular saw by the Red Brand, and UA-cam capped the algorithm at 1,000 views. Apparently if you make a video besmirching the Red Brand, then UA-cam can block it. They are changing the algorithms (it sounds crazy, but it's true) to prevent disparaging, negative reviews of the Red Brand tools.
@@starseeddeluxe UA-cam does cap the views (only the shown number tho) temporarily on videos, basically just holding things back until all the servers can coordinate and agree on the actual values, filter out bots and other shady stuff. Usually it updates after that process is done tho?
I agree. Cheap sockets that get mushed and turn semi-useless after 4 15-second runs on the Milwaukee need to be rated as the flex only absorb the blows.
@@TorqueTestChannel I bought some " impact" sockets from my local car parts store . I'm pretty sure they are just regular sockets painted black. My big DeWalt has already shattered two of them on a big pulley puller. It wasn't messing around. Thank goodness for safety glasses.

I guess that Chervon is taking the same route as Dewalt in the model numbers now... **Original comment below** The Flex 1431 is a mid torque (the actual model number for the mid torque is 1451.) The new Kobalt model that I mentioned is supposed to be a compact, so it isn't made to compete with a mid torque. Don't get me wrong, I like both brands, but comparing a Flex mid torque to a Kobalt compact is like comparing a Dewalt DCF-891 mid torque to a DCF-921 compact. They're made by the same company, but they're built to different specs.
Model numbers all correct but note that if you buy the 1/2" stubby/compact impact, you might well get the 1/4", and vice versa. Many ppl reporting this issue on orders--box has the right picture and model#, in the box they're getting the wrong one. 3/8" model not affected.
I bought one the thing is fast but not strong coming off an older Mac e-ratchet the Mac is by far stronger and more consistent but the Kobalts speed is very nice but it is now broken

Looks like a high performance tool with premium build quality at a reasonable price. Really hope they would start competing in the European market as well. We need more tool brands and more competition!
@@joshuaking34 Flex still is a German company and they still make tools and they are widely available at least in Germany. "Flex" is used here synonymously for angle grinders. However their color over here is Red and Black....kinda similiar to the Milwaukee so I've been wondering what's behind that. I doubt there are 2 tool companies both called Flex, since "german" flex exsists for over 100 years now so doubt they'd not copyrighted that name ages ago.
@shinrah4772 It is the same company. They were purchased by Chervon, who markets the grey and black 24v tools through Lowe's in the U.S. The difference in color was likely done to match Chervon's Ego brand, which is also sold at Lowe's.
Just hopped on that today but went with the angle grinder since I already have the ultra torque gen 2. It was a no brainer. I was going to buy the 8ah battery anyway
You lucky dog, they only included the high torque impacts in that deal for like 2 days then removed any trace of it. $50 for the high torque I would've bought like 20 lol. I was lucky enough to get a bunch of 8 amp hour batteries, a hammer drill, impact driver and angle grinder though. Might be the best tool deal ever.
Ive been using the Ridgid Octane with a 12Ah max output battery for months now. I’ve dropped it, I’ve thrown it in my toolbox, and I’ve tripped over it a million times. It’s still a top dog in my eyes. When my poor MG725 Can’t do something, I grab my Octane, and it does it with ease. I call it “the beast”. There have been only 2 things I haven’t been able to remove with it without heat: a rusted crank bolt and a rusted wheel hub nut. To be fair, no one else’s impacts could remove them either, not even the air ones. On that wheel hub nut, I broke the anvil off of a breaker bar trying to get it off. We broke out the acetylene torch for that one
I waited a while to give my thoughts on the new high torque. I rebuild underground mining equipment and the gen 2 is a beast. It has been able to handle everything I've thrown at it so far
What I really love to see is that build quality for less money than the Milwaukee. Let's hope this starts a quality race instead of just bigger numbers!
Can you maybe do a video about maintanence in impact wrenches? Air and battery! I would really like something like that, and probably a lot of sunscribers too! What kind of grease to use, if you use oild and what not. Its a very good video to make for sure, since Impacts are getting more expensive by the day, and I simply cannot buy one after 2 years of use. How to maintain it video would be awesome. Keep them videos coming!
TTC, if you read this, I suggest testing LED household lightbulbs. I've had several die way too fast given that they're supposed to have a longer lifespan. The things I'm most interested in is light output, power consumed and how hot do they get. One LED bulb I have gets too hot to touch when they should run cool for a long life. Also a comparison to a regular incandescent bulb. Thanks for all the videos you make, I think they make a difference.
I've noticed those bulbs don't like to be turned on and off a lot back to back. Mine started flickering from low to high on and off and then just died all together. Idk if it was a cheap bulb or what.
Much appreciate the emphasis given to the wrist scores. Bought the original because of the Flex's comparative gentleness. Can get by without 1000 ft-lbs for now.
I'd like to say the video I posted yesterday comparing these and saying I'll leave the torque testing to TTC is what prompted this, but this was obviously filmed before today, but I'll still take some solace in knowing and saying that I knew the video would come out soon; and soon it did!
I have Makita, Milwaukee, Ryobi. I have quite a number of flex tools now; they have become my new favorite tools. The only problem is the batteries-the darn black goop.
I ordered the new DCF 964 this past weekend. Hope it hits as hard or harder than its 1/2" brother. When I first started watching this video I was thinking "oh crap maybe I should have watched this first before ordering" because the DeWalt is not $249 but instead $249 + $150. I'm now at the half way point of the video and either jumping the gun or doing my best to not have buyers remorse on that 964. All I know is I have an undercarriage to swap from one 60 year old dozer to another and my old DCF899 wasn't going to do the trick without lots of heat and having to heat every bolt gets old quickly.

I have used Flex cordless on a couple of jobs... I really like them.. Their price point is reasonable... The only reason I don't switch; all my cordless are Orange and yellow
The only thing I see being an issue is the ridgidness of all that metal. The impacts could start cracking it over time and if you drop it could be very bad. But without testing it can't say for sure. May be a non issue. Definitely looks very well built.
I was at a big ass car show, there was a retailer selling various milwaukee and dewalt products at incredible deals I managed to get a DCF961 for 200 dollars, and they were selling 5AH Dewalt powerstacks for a mere $75 brand new in package Its been months and both are still going good i just couldnt believe it

That's some appreciable amount of engineering/design that has an actual improvement (thermal dissipation & durability). If I hadn't of bought my current mid torque I would've gone with this.. Seeing the improvement over Gen 1 AND it's for less $? Say less! Lol (I mean literally?!). Also a huge fan of more dark/blacked out tools (less advertisement for thieves..). Have had the 3/4 drive 1472 for a month was free from ACME TOOLS when you buy a 6 AMP STACKED LITHIUM with 280 watt CHARGER for $250 its a BEAST cami put it somewhere up there with the Milwaukee M18 2967 and the HARBOR FREIGHT HERCULES ULTRA TQ GEN 2 3/4 Drive
I've noticed the Flex chargers do not deliver charge unless the battery is down at least 1 bar. This means there is some variability in starting voltage even after trying to "top them off" on a charger.
@@TorqueTestChannel my old kobalt charges won't charge my high output batteries unless they're down two bars. Which really sucks because I use the 8 amp with their biggest impact. And it makes big difference in torque. Very well made battery too I gotta say.
Great video! I got the Bosch GDS18V-740N for Christmas and they recently came out with a new 3/4" high torque impact GDS18V-1180CN rated for "1,620 Ft.-Lbs. of max breakaway torque" making me already outdated... Any plans to review that one soon? Keep up to interesting breakdowns!
Im not ready to take on new batteries, but the all metal construction means more than anything to me. Literally built to last, not just a tag line. Maybe I can stomach 2 battery brands/chargers
You should. I've been on 2 battery platforms for about 3 years and it's been great when I need a new tool and can pick up the one that offers the best deal and/or specs. I always have both charges together when I need to top up my batteries
I own tools from all top brands. The thing about this is the battery failures due to lack of of use and down time just sitting in a hot/ humid garage. Stick to only 2 platform, You're wallet will thank you

I like stacked Lithium. I've been using 10Ah 4S stacked Lithiums in my 1/5 scale RC truck for a minute. About to buy a 2967-21F, with the Forge battery. I have a crank bolt to remove from a Jaguar XKR motor. Nobody's gun at the shop has been able to budge it.
for me and many others already having many other Milwaukee tools and batteries it's going to be additional Milwaukee branded tools moving forward.... If I could go back in time to younger me I would tell him to buy a "Dewalt Impact and drill set" .... I think you get a bit more bang for the buck with them (Dewalt) but at the end of the day every one of my Milwaukee Tools and Batteries have paid for themselves and then some over the course of there lives. Some of the tools get used everyday others not so much but with that said I am not easy on them and they have never skipped a beat 👍
Wanna see the 3/4in snap-on 18v impact with a 3/4-1/2 snap-on adapter vs other 1/2in impacts. Just bought one instead of the 1/2in impact because it was only like 20bucks more. Figured whynot. With the adapter I wonder is it still stronger than the 1/2in impacts.
How much torque can they get before the anvils start to break??? We have to be getting close to that point. The Milwaukee is a Monster and only comes out for those stubborn jobs. Thanks for your testing and honest reviews.

Sorry to say, but as an international buyer, I'll never buy flex with their Goop battery failures. Had family buy some and the batteries failed because of the goop. Got someone to get some new replacement batteries and as they came, the same goop was leaking out of it and causing the battery to not charge properly. Can't exactly return em.
I’ve had flex tools going on 2 years now So far no goop but a few batteries did go out pre maturely for me It is frustrating dealing with battery tools especially Ego tools batteries are horrible , they loose charge quick and won’t charge eventually I d say about 60% of the batteries go bad man what a bummer
You discussed it thoroughly early on, but perhaps should have mentioned the battery issues when summing up at the end. The tool seems well-made and a fair value, but the battery issue is worrisome.
I own almost all the top brands of cordless power tools (Milwaukee, DeWALT, FLEX, Makita 18V & 40V, Metabo HPT, etc.). While i love Milwaukee, i love the FLEX tools i own also and it's good to see them competing right up there with the best of the best. I don't really need an impact wrench with that much power for what i do, which is why i sold my last gen Milwaukee High Torque, but these new ones are tempting lol. I can't wait to see how the new Milwaukee Stubby 12V Impact Wrenches perform. They are claiming some pretty big numbers on them (550 ft lbs of "nut busting" torque). If they can do anywhere close to those numbers i will be very impressed and will possibly retire/sell my DeWALT DCF923B if it can outperform it. Not sure when they will hit shelves, but i'm assuming you guys will be testing them when they do.
The reason that five amp hour pack we’re not fully charge now is because that tool (exactly as the m18 2826 top handle chainsaw does, Actually, it does more than that it’s straight fries, the BMS on board chip and you have to completely replace it then the packs will charge again kind of nuts, but that’s what happens when the tool overdrives the batteries, they knock the banks of cells out of balance. Generally, it is the middle bank of cells and if you charge the cells back to their 4.2 maximum for 18650 and 21700 But if you do that the pack should charge fully again it’s simply hit its low-voltage cut off level.
And if one bank of cells in the pack or any cell being monitored in the pack, once it said, it’s low voltage, cut off or maximum voltage. It will not charge as it thinks the pack is full. I bet if you opened up that five amp hour battery you would find that all the individual cylinder cells are not the same voltage there’s probably one or two that are far lower than the rest equalize that that should fix your problem don’t do this unless you know safety measures to be taken with lithium-ion batteries they are essentially very well restrained bombs
To get the battery to fully charge, get it down to almost depleted from use, and it might charge back up to full capacity. It happened to one of my flexvolt batteries years ago. I play that little trick with it to get it to fully charge again but it still sometimes sticks to 2 bars charge.
Personally I'm anxiously awaiting their next impact driver. My current one (a 18v Metabo) has lived out it's life and I'd like to upgrade but I'm awaiting a new release
@@Iowa599 the crazy thing is that one ton is 2,000 pounds, so 2,000 ft/lbs is approximately one ton of torque. I don't know if we'll ever get there, but if we do, it'll be crazy. To answer your question, I'd say that a 1/2 inch anvil would have to be made out of tungsten or something similar. It would probably cost a small fortune to machine too.

The Flex sounds like it has the same battery issues as I've had with Skil 20v--the refusal to charge and whatever that black oily thermal material is leaking. That's unfortunate.(Edit: I do love my Flex hammer drill that you featured in another video, no problems with that battery, fingers crossed.)

You should test Mac RBRT metric sockets on severely rounded fasteners. I wanna know if it’s worth getting a specialty socket or just good old fashioned hammer on extractor sockets

I don't recall you ever talking about what brand of sockets you use for these tests, and how long do they actually last with the punishment you dish out. Also, how long does the bolt last that you use? This might be an informative short video idea.
My kobalt high output does they same thing. I have to run it below three bars then charge them nonstop and it works. Not sure if it's the high output cells causing this issue or just the old chargers
I have no corded drills that can remove the lug nuts from my 64 year old 2 ton Chevy dually. Even bouncing on the end of a 4' breaker bar and 6' metal pipe cheater bar could not break those 1-1/16th lug nuts loose. But when I hit them with a Red 3/4" impact they zipped right off. Surprised the crap out of me, and sold me on these battery powered tools. I now have battery powered impacts, ratchets, grinders, drills, buffers, sawzalls, screwdrivers, circular saws, lawnmowers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers and chain saws, and love them all. Just as a counter point to your post..
been wanting a mid or high torque impact and this may be the one i get. i feel like the beef factor and the price more than makes up for the slightly lower performance
have you ever tested any porter cable budget line tools? about a year or so ago i saw a whole line up of grinders, impacts (corded and cordless), drills, and the sort for remarkably low prices at tractor supply back home. My dads had the same porter cable cordless for probably the last 17 years and im curious to see if the quality is the same before i make the purchase.
is it possible for a tool with a brushed motor (the kind that causes a spark inside the housing when engaged) to ignite gas/propane etc because of the spark? Cant remember if i asked before
Great video. Can you test the difference between limp wristing and using both hands, one in the battery. For impact drivers and wrenches. It seemed like my impact driver could loosen more if I was really trying to hold it still.
Wonder how that aluminum case will handle a drop? Some of the cast aluminum stuff is quite brittle. My gen2 Milwaukee high torque has been dropped over its life quite a bit and still keeps on ticking.
Yall should test the 12v klutch ratchet I'm curious how it stacks to other stuff given its price point I mean I would assume milwaukee is better though

Stick more weight on the buisiness-end (motor & hammer assembly) and see what happens. That end is hefty to improve the dampening to the handle. It might make more power, or be smoother.
Which is most user friendly? As mentioned, the FLEX starts jumping around…after 600ft/lbs. How many people would regularly experience that? The fact the FLEX can produce more torque than the Milwaukee means nothing, because the power curve falls short. So which is more friendly to use during standard operation, say removing lug nuts on ordinary pickup trucks? Safe to say the DeWalt isn’t more friendly than the Milwaukee or FLEX in such situations, no? Despite having more power. So which is most user friendly for the average mechanic or construction lag bolt driver? I believe too much emphasis is put on ridiculous torque numbers and not enough focus on comfort and build quality. Although the, much appreciated, breakdown tells us much of the latter(quality).
FLex have issues with their whole battery systems, ive gone through from 12v to their 24 they all failed in 1 year and half to 2 years and all failed in the same year. The sad part is making my 12v batteries useless because their warranty is only good for one year. smh

TBH, these are in the realm of specialty tools. Like Thor's Hammer. Small, light impacts like the new model M12 Stubby with 500 ft lbs of hardware snapping reverse torque will handle 99-100% of the hardware anyone but trademen come across. The rest can be handled with a cheap cordless cheater bar. Except.... There's something about owning an undefeatable power tool. Impacts these size will make you smile every time they effortlessly, instantaneously zip off any nut or bolt. Priceless.
@@Dingleberry1856 I do plenty. No mechanic has ever worked on my cars, motorcycles or truck but me since 1977, including my first car, a 1967 Cougar and my 1986 S10 4x4, both of which I still have. I've never needed a huge 1200 ft lb impact like these for any hardware on them, not even the rear differential pinion on my truck.

You lucky dog, they only included the high torque impacts in that deal for like 2 days then removed any trace of it. $50 for the high torque I would've bought like 20 lol. I was lucky enough to get a bunch of 8 amp hour batteries, a hammer drill, impact driver and angle grinder though. Might be the best tool deal ever.
Ive been using the Ridgid Octane with a 12Ah max output battery for months now. I’ve dropped it, I’ve thrown it in my toolbox, and I’ve tripped over it a million times. It’s still a top dog in my eyes. When my poor MG725 Can’t do something, I grab my Octane, and it does it with ease. I call it “the beast”. There have been only 2 things I haven’t been able to remove with it without heat: a rusted crank bolt and a rusted wheel hub nut. To be fair, no one else’s impacts could remove them either, not even the air ones. On that wheel hub nut, I broke the anvil off of a breaker bar trying to get it off. We broke out the acetylene torch for that one
I waited a while to give my thoughts on the new high torque. I rebuild underground mining equipment and the gen 2 is a beast. It has been able to handle everything I've thrown at it so far

What kind of grease to use, if you use oild and what not. Its a very good video to make for sure, since Impacts are getting more expensive by the day, and I simply cannot buy one after 2 years of use. How to maintain it video would be awesome. TTC, if you read this, I suggest testing LED household lightbulbs. I've had several die way too fast given that they're supposed to have a longer lifespan.
The things I'm most interested in is light output, power consumed and how hot do they get. One LED bulb I have gets too hot to touch when they should run cool for a long life.
Also a comparison to a regular incandescent bulb.

I've noticed those bulbs don't like to be turned on and off a lot back to back. Mine started flickering from low to high on and off and then just died all together. Idk if it was a cheap bulb or what.

I have Makita, Milwaukee, Ryobi. I have quite a number of flex tools now; they have become my new favorite tools. The only problem is the batteries-the darn black goop.
I ordered the new DCF 964 this past weekend. Hope it hits as hard or harder than its 1/2" brother. When I first started watching this video I was thinking "oh crap maybe I should have watched this first before ordering" because the DeWalt is not $249 but instead $249 + $150. I'm now at the half way point of the video and either jumping the gun or doing my best to not have buyers remorse on that 964. All I know is I have an undercarriage to swap from one 60 year old dozer to another and my old DCF899 wasn't going to do the trick without lots of heat and having to heat every bolt gets old quickly.

The only thing I see being an issue is the ridgidness of all that metal. The impacts could start cracking it over time and if you drop it could be very bad. But without testing it can't say for sure. May be a non issue. Definitely looks very well built.

Have had the 3/4 drive 1472 for a month was free from ACME TOOLS when you buy a 6 AMP STACKED LITHIUM with 280 watt CHARGER for $250 its a BEAST cami put it somewhere up there with the Milwaukee M18 2967 and the HARBOR FREIGHT HERCULES ULTRA TQ GEN 2 3/4 Drive
I've noticed the Flex chargers do not deliver charge unless the battery is down at least 1 bar. This means there is some variability in starting voltage even after trying to "top them off" on a charger.
Tops up other batteries fine though
@@TorqueTestChannel my old kobalt charges won't charge my high output batteries unless they're down two bars. Which really sucks because I use the 8 amp with their biggest impact. And it makes big difference in torque. Very well made battery too I gotta say.
Great video! I got the Bosch GDS18V-740N for Christmas and they recently came out with a new 3/4" high torque impact GDS18V-1180CN rated for "1,620 Ft.-Lbs. of max breakaway torque" making me already outdated... Any plans to review that one soon?

I've been on 2 battery platforms for about 3 years and it's been great when I need a new tool and can pick up the one that offers the best deal and/or specs.
I always have both charges together when I need to top up my batteries
I own tools from all top brands. The thing about this is the battery failures due to lack of of use and down time just sitting in a hot/ humid garage. Stick to only 2 platform, You're wallet will thank you

I like stacked Lithium. I've been using 10Ah 4S stacked Lithiums in my 1/5 scale RC truck for a minute. About to buy a 2967-21F, with the Forge battery. I have a crank bolt to remove from a Jaguar XKR motor. Nobody's gun at the shop has been able to budge it.
I'd love to see a rotator ratchet showdown. It would be interesting to see if the Sidewinder is better than the Proxxon.
for me and many others already having many other Milwaukee tools and batteries it's going to be additional Milwaukee branded tools moving forward.... If I could go back in time to younger me I would tell him to buy a "Dewalt Impact and drill set" .... I think you get a bit more bang for the buck with them (Dewalt) but at the end of the day every one of my Milwaukee Tools and Batteries have paid for themselves and then some over the course of there lives. Some of the tools get used everyday others not so much but with that said I am not easy on them and they have never skipped a beat 👍

Wanna see the 3/4in snap-on 18v impact with a 3/4-1/2 snap-on adapter vs other 1/2in impacts. Just bought one instead of the 1/2in impact because it was only like 20bucks more. Figured whynot. With the adapter I wonder is it still stronger than the 1/2in impacts.
How much torque can they get before the anvils start to break??? We have to be getting close to that point. The Milwaukee is a Monster and only comes out for those stubborn jobs. Thanks for your testing and honest reviews.

Sorry to say, but as an international buyer, I'll never buy flex with their Goop battery failures. Had family buy some and the batteries failed because of the goop. Got someone to get some new replacement batteries and as they came, the same goop was leaking out of it and causing the battery to not charge properly. Can't exactly return em.

You discussed it thoroughly early on, but perhaps should have mentioned the battery issues when summing up at the end. The tool seems well-made and a fair value, but the battery issue is worrisome.
I own almost all the top brands of cordless power tools (Milwaukee, DeWALT, FLEX, Makita 18V & 40V, Metabo HPT, etc.). While i love Milwaukee, i love the FLEX tools i own also and it's good to see them competing right up there with the best of the best. I don't really need an impact wrench with that much power for what i do, which is why i sold my last gen Milwaukee High Torque, but these new ones are tempting lol. I can't wait to see how the new Milwaukee Stubby 12V Impact Wrenches perform. They are claiming some pretty big numbers on them (550 ft lbs of "nut busting" torque). If they can do anywhere close to those numbers i will be very impressed and will possibly retire/sell my DeWALT DCF923B if it can outperform it. Not sure when they will hit shelves, but i'm assuming you guys will be testing them when they do.
The reason that five amp hour pack we’re not fully charge now is because that tool (exactly as the m18 2826 top handle chainsaw does, Actually, it does more than that it’s straight fries, the BMS on board chip and you have to completely replace it then the packs will charge again kind of nuts, but that’s what happens when the tool overdrives the batteries, they knock the banks of cells out of balance. Generally, it is the middle bank of cells and if you charge the cells back to their 4.2 maximum for 18650 and 21700 But if you do that the pack should charge fully again it’s simply hit its low-voltage cut off level.
And if one bank of cells in the pack or any cell being monitored in the pack, once it said, it’s low voltage, cut off or maximum voltage. It will not charge as it thinks the pack is full. I bet if you opened up that five amp hour battery you would find that all the individual cylinder cells are not the same voltage there’s probably one or two that are far lower than the rest equalize that that should fix your problem don’t do this unless you know safety measures to be taken with lithium-ion batteries they are essentially very well restrained bombs
can you do the new compact kobalt impact wrench’s?
To get the battery to fully charge, get it down to almost depleted from use, and it might charge back up to full capacity. It happened to one of my flexvolt batteries years ago. I play that little trick with it to get it to fully charge again but it still sometimes sticks to 2 bars charge.
Personally I'm anxiously awaiting their next impact driver. My current one (a 18v Metabo) has lived out it's life and I'd like to upgrade but I'm awaiting a new release

@@Iowa599 the crazy thing is that one ton is 2,000 pounds, so 2,000 ft/lbs is approximately one ton of torque. I don't know if we'll ever get there, but if we do, it'll be crazy.
To answer your question, I'd say that a 1/2 inch anvil would have to be made out of tungsten or something similar. It would probably cost a small fortune to machine too.

The Flex sounds like it has the same battery issues as I've had with Skil 20v--the refusal to charge and whatever that black oily thermal material is leaking. That's unfortunate.(Edit: I do love my Flex hammer drill that you featured in another video, no problems with that battery, fingers crossed.)

I don't recall you ever talking about what brand of sockets you use for these tests, and how long do they actually last with the punishment you dish out. Also, how long does the bolt last that you use? This might be an informative short video idea.
My kobalt high output does they same thing. I have to run it below three bars then charge them nonstop and it works. Not sure if it's the high output cells causing this issue or just the old chargers
I been manual and corded whole life B&D drill early 1970s corded, all metal USA made.
I have no corded drills that can remove the lug nuts from my 64 year old 2 ton Chevy dually.
Even bouncing on the end of a 4' breaker bar and 6' metal pipe cheater bar could not break those 1-1/16th lug nuts loose.
But when I hit them with a Red 3/4" impact they zipped right off.
Surprised the crap out of me, and sold me on these battery powered tools.
I now have battery powered impacts, ratchets, grinders, drills, buffers, sawzalls, screwdrivers, circular saws, lawnmowers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers and chain saws, and love them all.

have you ever tested any porter cable budget line tools? about a year or so ago i saw a whole line up of grinders, impacts (corded and cordless), drills, and the sort for remarkably low prices at tractor supply back home. My dads had the same porter cable cordless for probably the last 17 years and im curious to see if the quality is the same before i make the purchase.

Great video. Can you test the difference between limp wristing and using both hands, one in the battery. For impact drivers and wrenches. It seemed like my impact driver could loosen more if I was really trying to hold it still.

Which is most user friendly? As mentioned, the FLEX starts jumping around…after 600ft/lbs. How many people would regularly experience that?
The fact the FLEX can produce more torque than the Milwaukee means nothing, because the power curve falls short. So which is more friendly to use during standard operation, say removing lug nuts on ordinary pickup trucks?

I believe too much emphasis is put on ridiculous torque numbers and not enough focus on comfort and build quality. Although the, much appreciated, breakdown tells us much of the latter(quality).

FLex have issues with their whole battery systems, ive gone through from 12v to their 24 they all failed in 1 year and half to 2 years and all failed in the same year. The sad part is making my 12v batteries useless because their warranty is only good for one year. smh

TBH, these are in the realm of specialty tools. Like Thor's Hammer. Small, light impacts like the new model M12 Stubby with 500 ft lbs of hardware snapping reverse torque will handle 99-100% of the hardware anyone but trademen come across. The rest can be handled with a cheap cordless cheater bar.
Except.... There's something about owning an undefeatable power tool. Impacts these size will make you smile every time they effortlessly, instantaneously zip off any nut or bolt. Priceless.

I've never needed a huge 1200 ft lb impact like these for any hardware on them, not even the rear differential pinion on my truck.
