The Scilacticon Galaxy. Conglaturations here's a postcard saying you wasted your summer vacation and a shine sprite polo shirt when you talk to the sunglasses guy.
I've seen a real durian fruit at some jungle zoo themed food store with products from around the world. The fruit honestly dose look inconvenient to pick up. It's big heavy and spikier than a cactus.
For me, the pachinko machine is the hardest, followed by the watermelon festival. The lily pad red coins used to really get me, but not anymore. I actually find the trip with Yoshi to be quite relaxing when I don't feel like trying to glitch my way to the island. I'm surprised that the blooper red coins in Ricco Harbor didn't make the list. Steering that thing to collect 8 tiny red coins that blend in with the surroundings was really difficult for me the first time I played, and on top of that, you have to time your jump to get the shine on the blooper. I feel like Mysterious Hotel Delfino is also difficult when you don't know what you're doing, but I grew up watching my older brothers playing this game so I've always known what I needed to do on that one. Granted, none of these give me too much trouble anymore. Yeah I'll still fail occasionally, but I've played this game so many times that none of the missions stick out to me as particularly difficult.
The mystery of Hotel Delfino took me forever as a kid because of all the secret doors you have to go through which breaks the pattern of everything else you did previously in the game.
It took me a while of trial and error to figure out the best strat for defeating the manta rays, and even then you might just get unlucky and become a pinball between them from just one small mistake and have to start all over again...
The infamous pachinko level is way harder than the lily pad level, because the lily pad level at least it takes skill to beat, but the pachinko level is 100% luck
The Pachinko machine is not actually 100% luck. You have to stand on a certain part of the stage where it launches you to get a certain distance. Also time your ground pounds and whatever secondary nozzle you have equipped
I thought the manta storm and level where you clean the eels teethe were incredibly hard, but I agree the lily pad game is the hardest level in the game
+genius11433 To be fair the final boss is super easy. Seriously though, I learned the trick after like 9 years to beat that level and it's super easy now haha.
The manta storm was impossible on my first try, but I noticed that a common theme among these entires is that they were more frustrating than they were difficult (aside from the lily pad game, which is both). The thing with the manta is that it's an extremely *fun* shine, which is not something I could say about most of these on the list, and he becomes much easier after you learn how to fight him, and safe spots you can hide (Basically just start doing lots of spin jump sprays to thin the heard, and you can hide under the umbrellas to catch your breath, since he can't enter the shadows and will only go over the umbrellas).
Chase the Case The manta storm? Hahaha. When you sprayed the big ones and there's a lot of little ones in one place, just press the right trigger and the a button at the same time to perform a "spam" spray. Do this a few times and you can kill a lot of them really easily. But i have to agree with the eel dentist shine though
Durians weren’t too hard. If you kick them to the right of the stand it is a much shorter path to the basket and much easier to kick to the other side of the canal. You can also use FLUDD to push the durians.
Hardest shine in each area: Bianco Hills: Petey Piranha Strikes Back Ricco Harbor: Red Coins on the Water Gelato Beach: The Watermelon Festival Pinna Park: The Runaway Ferris Wheel Sirena Beach: Red Coin Winnings in the Casino Noki Bay: Red Coins on the Half Shell Pianta Village: Red Coin Chucksters Delfino Plaza: Pachinko Game Corona Mountain: Father and Son Shine! The Yoshi-Go-Round Secret, the Phantamanta battle in "The Manta Storm," and simply getting to the dreaded death-water level on Yoshi were all terribly challenging.

The year is 2024. Super Mario Sunshines biggest mod Super Mario Eclipse has gotten its full release, the closest we will ever get to a true Super Mario Sunshine sequel. Life is good.
The durian blue coin was easy for me because I found a shortcut. You have to bring the durians to the waterway behind the statue area and launch the durians across the waterway. When I did that, one of the durians actually went into the basket instantly, but the other two just landed just outside the basket, but it was still easy for me to do.
wait seriously? All you had to do was go underground in number 9?! Damn I'm stupid I literally just went around the entire map went into the river went to the lake and since mario is still dripping wet for a few seconds whenever he comes out of water I used that dripping to splash away the lava goo bit by bit to get the tree back then I did it the same to the road until I made enough of a path to get to the path to flood
theres an even easier way if you climb the biggest tree you can dive straight to the big mushroom lol. I didnt know about the underground or splashing water..
There actually is some way to just jump over the lava and get to the middle. But yeah, back in the days I used waaay to much time trying to find a way over until I found out I could go underground
Nathaniel Bandy I still haven't beaten Sunshine, one of my favorite games because of it, did you use a gamegenie to beat the Watermelon festival stage or are you just really, really careful with it?
There is an insane shortcut in the goopy inferno. If you go to the water spot next to the huge tree and go in and out of the water, you'll spray some water and slowly clear out the goop. Then you can dive jump to one of the clear spots and make your way to the mayor!
Your actually lucky that you couldn't find a durian to destroy it. I looked them up and found out that they smell really bad, so I think if you destroyed one, you would have fainted.
Hey Nathaniel, Wanna know a trick for the Goopy Inferno? Simpy go around the village to the final tree, get onto one of its leaves, jump off, and dive. This makes that shine a ton easier
+muskatDR No, it will come out along with portal 3, half-life 3, and Team Fortress 3. Alongside them will be super-humans with robot teeth that chew for them, and cake that talks. I might as well add in when pigs fly for good measure.
i know this is a 9 year old video but i wanted to let you know that in the poison water red coins level if you miss coins you can walk all the way back on the edge and jump on a new lilipad that spawns in at the start of the level. You can do this as many times as you need to collect the 8 red coins
I don't think it's the hardest mission ever I think u and the other peoples has mistaken this mission so much like it's not even hard at all it's too fucking easy like i took that mission like no problem it was like taking candy from an baby
Well yeah even the shells secret stage is easy too but if you're new to Mario and u just started playing super Mario sunshine when it will get hard but for me it wasn't hard at all that's mainly because I still have my super Mario 64 skills and super Mario sunshine skills so really the shells secret stage just wants to test u if u really have enough Mario skills to complete the stage like trust me u need to use a lot of skills on that stage
Surprisingly, I never found the balloon roller coaster mission that hard. For some reason, it's decently easy for me. I agree with number 1. But worst part was getting to this shine in the first place. I am so impatient so I always screwed up in the past bringing Yoshi to the island. Matter of fact, I never tried the level in my childhood cause of that
For me the only real hard shines this game has are the ones you get for the blue coins, some of them are really well hidden and if you collect them at random without paying attention which ones you already got, even with a guide it's going to be really hard to find the missing blue coins
Fun fact: I thought in order to get inside the pachinko machine you needed the rocket nozzle, so I completed that shine without the hover nozzle equipped.
There was one level I always thought was super hard if you didn't knew what to do... The one at the hotel (the second or third shine if I'm right) where you have to find the shine in the spa. You have to go through all kinds of crazy stuff to find it.
Okay so I got to the pachinko level, and you can choose to believe me or not, but I got it first try once I went in with the hover nozzle, I died twice when I used the rocket nozzle to get in
After watching this I dug up my Nintendo Power guide and flipped through to find ones I found hard. - Bianco Hills rematch with Petey Piranha, as a kid I had the hardest time. I cleaned all the sludge and literally needed the whole level spotless to face him without dying. - Ricco Harbor red coin surfing episode, to this day I still struggle to collect all 8 without crashing. - Pinna Park merry go round secret level. Without fludd this level is a pain the ass. - Sirena Beach manta storm, I can do it fine now but back then it was super hard for obvious reasons... - Noki Bay eel battle, it took a long time for me to improve my speed on this one so that I didn't die from using up all the coins.
8:04 you are actually completely correct here, the machine wants to finish launching you, so if you try to go for one of the left red coins before reaching the middle of the machine, it will get angry and keep pushing you towards the middle anyways. It's actually pretty fun to try to work around it once you figure out how it works
Nathaniel Bandy I will! I played at at someone's house, but I need to work on my skills. Kept dieing on the first gooey plant in defino plaza. I also just got SM64. Finally! It looks so much easier than it looks. Luckily, I used to only watch SM64 Vids so I know where everything is!
Nathaniel Bandy It's probably because I had to speedrun everything. I like doing that. I got SM64 on Virtual Console. SMS I'm gonna try try to get when I save up. I tracked down a shop in town with Gamecube Games being soled, but sunshine wasn't there :(
For me the goopy Inferno was the most difficult because I didn't know that you had to go underground to get to the shine so instead I went to the creek or the river that went to the middle and made my own little pathway are jumping in and out of the water multiple times hoping that I didn't run out of water when I reached where I was supposed to go and it took pretty much 4 hours to complete LOL
The freaking secret levels like Ricco Harbor, Noki Bay, Sirena Beach and Pianta Village are a literal inferno! And don't get me started with the fucking Panchiko Machine!
In "The Goopy Inferno", for some reason my ROM was broken in a way that made me invincible to the goo. I inadvertently cheesed one of the hardest shines in the game

There actually is some way to just jump over the lava and get to the middle. But yeah, back in the days I used waaay to much time trying to find a way over until I found out I could go underground
The hi
the lily pad level is the hardest to me. I've tried passing it so many times and cant.
"You'll have to pull a Harriet Tubman and..."
You did NOT
Yo NB the reason you couldn't find any Durians us because they smell so terrible they are illegal in some parts of the world
But not in Malaysia because it's our main fruit! 😉
@@noorhafizat do they taste well?
That FREAKING WATERMELON!
I know right?!
Nathaniel Bandy I still haven't beaten Sunshine, one of my favorite games because of it, did you use a gamegenie to beat the Watermelon festival stage or are you just really, really careful with it?
Nathaniel Bandy at #1 have you seen Cc's let play of this game
Perfect Chaos Oh did I when I.. never beat that level.
King Boo actually debuted in Luigis Mansion, therefore he wasn't in SM64. In SM 64 you fought Big Boo.
6:10 someone beat that stage without the hover nozzle...
Man, I used to swin throgh the lake, and onceI'm in the central pond soak mario and use it to clean the goo then walk to get the machine.
You know I disagreed on just a couple to be the hardest, but your number one, that I agree with! Man i feel the pain just watching. Good list though!
I can't believe this was 8 years ago. I was in middle school when this came out.
Mario sunshine 2 will come out together with mario 65
+muskatDR No, it will come out along with portal 3, half-life 3, and Team Fortress 3. Alongside them will be super-humans with robot teeth that chew for them, and cake that talks. I might as well add in when pigs fly for good measure.
Gotta admit. 8:32 is one of my all time favorite shines
MrScruffynoodles Mine too.
i know this is a 9 year old video but i wanted to let you know that in the poison water red coins level if you miss coins you can walk all the way back on the edge and jump on a new lilipad that spawns in at the start of the level. You can do this as many times as you need to collect the 8 red coins
Lol! U call the slam bam mirror edge hard? It's too fucking easy
it is
I don't think it's the hardest mission ever I think u and the other peoples has mistaken this mission so much like it's not even hard at all it's too fucking easy like i took that mission like no problem it was like taking candy from an baby
kristian johansen
that's what we said, do you even read
He did say it barely made the list
Well yeah even the shells secret stage is easy too but if you're new to Mario and u just started playing super Mario sunshine when it will get hard but for me it wasn't hard at all that's mainly because I still have my super Mario 64 skills and super Mario sunshine skills so really the shells secret stage just wants to test u if u really have enough Mario skills to complete the stage like trust me u need to use a lot of skills on that stage
you can't pick up durians because they are spiky on the outside
And in real life they smell baaaaad
Thanks for putting the watermelon shine on 2. Makes me feel better about myself. I thought I was just very bad at this game when doing that one.
6:11, Surprisingly, it's actually possible to do it without the Fludd pack, well at least the hover nozzle, but it's painful to do.
Surprisingly, I never found the balloon roller coaster mission that hard. For some reason, it's decently easy for me. I agree with number 1. But worst part was getting to this shine in the first place. I am so impatient so I always screwed up in the past bringing Yoshi to the island. Matter of fact, I never tried the level in my childhood cause of that
Worth noting that if you walk all the way back to the start on the hardest shine, the lily pad WILL respawn, giving you another shot.
For me the only real hard shines this game has are the ones you get for the blue coins, some of them are really well hidden and if you collect them at random without paying attention which ones you already got, even with a guide it's going to be really hard to find the missing blue coins
The durians coin is so easy lmao
Fun fact: I thought in order to get inside the pachinko machine you needed the rocket nozzle, so I completed that shine without the hover nozzle equipped.
you are a *god*
2002 Me: Ugh, this is too difficult!
2020 Me: Aww, sh*t here we go again!
There was one level I always thought was super hard if you didn't knew what to do... The one at the hotel (the second or third shine if I'm right) where you have to find the shine in the spa. You have to go through all kinds of crazy stuff to find it.
That one is very confusing, no doubt about it. But I didn't really find it all that challenging to complete after knowing what to do.
Nathaniel Bandy Yeah true, it wasn't a challenge so true, it wasn't a hard shine to get. But I still thought it was a stupid shine to get.
OH GOD… DO NOT REMIND OF THE “Mysterious Hotel” SHINE!!!
@@Gavinthecandyhuman np man, 10 years ago me has you covered
Okay so I got to the pachinko level, and you can choose to believe me or not, but I got it first try once I went in with the hover nozzle, I died twice when I used the rocket nozzle to get in
Tbh the durian is easy and if you have the right technique
by "right technique" i assume you mean, use the turbo nozzle
ReaperP13 no you just dive into them once at the canal and once at the ramp it’s insanely easy and intuitive didn’t lose one
Im not trying to be mean but you sucked at sunshine
8:04 you are actually completely correct here, the machine wants to finish launching you, so if you try to go for one of the left red coins before reaching the middle of the machine, it will get angry and keep pushing you towards the middle anyways. It's actually pretty fun to try to work around it once you figure out how it works
6:12
Still doesn’t exist
It’s 2019 now
3D All-Stars
Yes sirr remastered Boaa
Before I watch, the Ferris wheel in pinna park better be on here.
Edit: you’ve gotta be kidding me. #10 is EASY!
1 . we need a sequel to Mario Sunshine
2 . we need a video of you ranking ALL shine sprites in Mario Sunshine
Bowser built his base in CORONA Mountain? They knew. Somehow.
6:12 We're in 2016 and we still don't have it :/
bro!
I'm really hatin' on Nintendo for that too.
dude it's easy !
2017 and ya I want 2nd game. They better make it better and more open world.
I really hope there will be one for the Switch, or even a HD Remake
Where is every secret level, the I’m a chuckster level, and the level where you have to find the pineapple in the hotel
12:18 is that an earlier version of Bathaniel Nandy??
I can't believe that I don't have this game...
marionose1 you gotta get it!
Nathaniel Bandy I will! I played at at someone's house, but I need to work on my skills. Kept dieing on the first gooey plant in defino plaza. I also just got SM64. Finally! It looks so much easier than it looks. Luckily, I used to only watch SM64 Vids so I know where everything is!
marionose1 Keep playing those games, once you get good at them, it's SO fun :)
Nathaniel Bandy It's probably because I had to speedrun everything. I like doing that. I got SM64 on Virtual Console. SMS I'm gonna try try to get when I save up. I tracked down a shop in town with Gamecube Games being soled, but sunshine wasn't there :(
marionose1 "It looks so much easier than it looks." What does that even mean?!
In the goopy inferno, spraying all the lava away after getting the fludd back was the most empowering part of Mario sunshine
The goopy inferno is the BEST LEVEL EVER! and you take a harder route than i do, my way is fun
My strategy is to get to the small fruit tree and long jump
Miner Squad i clear out the lava by jumping and make it a challenge
That's what I did, I would jump in and spin jump out and the water would wash the lava off
Diego Salgado :D
For me the goopy Inferno was the most difficult because I didn't know that you had to go underground to get to the shine so instead I went to the creek or the river that went to the middle and made my own little pathway are jumping in and out of the water multiple times hoping that I didn't run out of water when I reached where I was supposed to go and it took pretty much 4 hours to complete LOL
The Goopy Inferno is so easy when you realize you can just dive off one of the trees nearby and land right next to where FLUDD and the shine is...
"Electrifying turtle things" =Electro-Koopa
No Noki Bay Shell Secret?
I beat that one on my 2nd try :)
+Steve Johnson Good For You
The freaking secret levels like Ricco Harbor, Noki Bay, Sirena Beach and Pianta Village are a literal inferno! And don't get me started with the fucking Panchiko Machine!
thats not even hard
In "The Goopy Inferno", for some reason my ROM was broken in a way that made me invincible to the goo. I inadvertently cheesed one of the hardest shines in the game
I got the pinball wizard reference!!!!!!
And I also played the Space Cadet game. :)
sweet! :D
Nathaniel Bandy :D
