pretty sure DK spaces give you single players more often when you’re in lower placements, not 50/50. I’ve never seen 4th place get a multiplayer. 1st can get a single player but it’s very rare.
@@MrToadTheGamer yeah also the lower place you’re in the higher chance of getting a star(1st place can never get a star). Bowser is a similar thing where the lower your placement the higher chance of a multiplayer.
maybe it's just my luck, but i think that battles are a lot rarer in this game than in 6. i rarely see them in 7 compared to in 6 where you're likely to get 1 or 2 per match.
For the longest time, I thought nothing could rival my love for the 4.5hr masterpiece that is Lawrence of Arabia. Then Zoomzike posted Wario's HONKADONK and going into that hole led me to Identifying Luck.
@@Kevelinu DS isn't confirmed, but if enough love gets to it, he might, who knows, if RNGesus likes us enough he might even do the Mario Party renaissance games (Super and Superstars)
1:21:55 The fact that the Shy Guy says "Go, plebian! Amuse us!" for this ridiculously difficult, high stakes happening space where you have to play the best Mario Party of your life to secure that star really adds an extra layer of sublime beauty to it.
I can't blame him, it's a good game! honestly it's less like dedication, more like fixation. i would know because i think i might be the one zoomzike fan who has spent more time watching and rewatching identifying luck than he's spent on making the series. it's my comfort series, like how my girlfriend puts on high school musical or legally blonde whenever she had a rough day at work. I'm like that but with long video essays about games I don't play (like this, king k's zelda retrospectives, hbomberguy's ode to speedrunning and 500 dark souls videos), and when it's 2AM and I can't find something satisfying on youtube to scratch the itch, you know gerbiez is always streaming when nobody else is (the world record holder for most mario party 1 speedrun categories, just an all around great guy, highly recommend his twitch if you'd like to see some high quality mp1 gameplay)
Gotta say- having watched this series since it started years ago, seeing Mario Party 8 be confirmed is one of the hypest UA-cam moments I've seen in a while.
That’s how I felt when I knew Mario party 6 was the next one coming up! Hope you enjoy his video on 8, seeing him breakdown 6, which has always been my personal favourite and the one I’m most nostalgic for (one of the first games I ever got), was a great experience and gave me many entertaining nights watching the whole thing.
My theory regarding the dud duels: they made that a possible outcome solely as an afterthought after realizing that all duel minigames in this entry are primarily based on skill. As such, as a sort of bandage solution to the "skill issue" dilemma they made it so that the better player can still potentially get nothing out of it, as a reprieve to that one goober who just keeps losing.
I’m almost certain this is it, tbh. As much as we like it to be mostly skill based because it’s fun that way, it’s definitely good to keep in mind that Mario Party is fundamentally a family party game and thus is aimed at families, a grouping that will naturally include people of completely disparate skill levels, whether it be older siblings vs younger, parents not being good at games, etc. Nintendo balances their party games with the intention that there is a solid chance any player can win by including elements, major or minor, of randomness, even if much like Smash, it leads to decisions less casual players hate. After all, the majority of their audience will always be casuals, or just the unskilled, to some extent. I think people really need to internalize that more, because it feels like some people don’t understand why chance even exists in a party game like Smash.
Ohhhh I bet you're right. And I bet the dude who suggested the idea is named like... _Brian_ or something. Frickin' Brian and his stupid goober ideas, who even hired that guy anyway?
A side note on the Egg Orb: A CPU Yoshi or Birdo will never use the orb if they find it from an Orb Space, and they will never purchase it from a shop.
Mario Party 7 has always been my absolute favorite as a kid! So hype to finally have the full course movie of it! Love these videos and the effort put into them!
Your editing at 2:16:55 was flawless. I literally had do a double take. It looks like Bowser put a dark star in the chest then immediately put a normal star in it.
I agree. Maybe I'm biased because it's the one I grew up with; I didn't grow up with the other GameCube Mario Parties, just this one. But this is my favorite Mario Party. I actually don't hate Bowser Time like most people seem to. I find it hilarious. Bowser's dialogue in this game is especially very well-written and hilarious (especially for the "freelance photography" event and the Bowser Shop event). I love the randomness of the Koopa Kids, especially if you get 10 spaces on the board. I love the Bowser multiplayer minigames and how stupidly high the stakes are. Bowser is what makes this game so incredible to me, IMO.
My first ever Mario Party. My childhood will finally be revisited. Can’t wait to watch this on my home theatre screen later! Also, thank goodness this series will continue! Can’t wait to see you cover recklessly driving Koopa Troopa’s in what might be the best board in the franchise, and to hear you explain the controls for Shake It Up haha
Wonder if that will be the true finale of the series, or if he will end up doing Mario Party DS as well - which is the real last hurrah of the traditional Mario Party gameplay (as well as of Hudson Soft itself).
So exited for 8! Haven't watched the actual video yet since I haven't finished 6 yet. Thought it was weird for it to be excluded since it follows the standard Mario party formula of 1-7 and isn't handheld like DS. This does make me curious on if Superstars may be covered one day though
This is my favourite type of videos in this channel simply for the fact you've been making these for almost 5 years already. I dont even play mario party, it's just fun hearing you talk about the game from the inside.
Despite the quality of the Mario Party series going downhill after 6, the quality of this series only continues to get better and the factors of luck only gets better with each one.
ZoomZike. Thank you so much for this series. You really opened so many peoples eyes to the older Mario Party games, and being someone who has always loved them, seeing the amount of people who have gained interest in them because of these videos is really groundbreaking. Watching the first video years ago, I didn’t really understand, but I feel like I’ve sorta grown with this series you’ve made. It’s been something I’ve liked to wind down to for so long now, and I’m sure it will be for many years to come. I will continue to support you ZoomZike. Thanks so much for everything!
Considering he's been playing Mario Party with his mom since he was a kid, a good chunk of these videos could be information he's retained from all that experience under his belt 🤔
This is some of the best and highest quality content to be found on UA-cam. There aren't really any other 5+ hour videos that are so well scripted and entertaining throughout and feature no offscript rants.
Hey, for MP8, there’s a semi-consistent way to time the roulette (for this instance, we’ll use the 5, 10, 20 coins wheel for this) 5 coins space: throw the dart ASAP 10 coins space, as soon as the wheel starts spinning, move your arm up without holding a + b, then swing it back down and hold down a and b as you do 20 coins space, as soon as the wheel starts spinning, move your arm up and down without holding a + b, the swing it back up and hold down a & b as you do
About Mathmortician: There's Blue Torches on each row's sides that light up, then go back out that signify when a Boo emerges from that direction. It's helpful for pre-emptively getting the Boo and thus helps prevent many Boos being passed up. Especially helpful with the Mic on since it takes a moment to recognize what is being said.
the way I literally yelled to my wife in the other room when I woke up and saw this dropped. thank you zoomzike, you're amazing!!!! so happy you're doing mario party 8 too, I have an unreasonable amount of nostalgia and love for it despite Knowing it's where the series definitely started to slide downhill. really excited to see how it actually works compared to my memories!
Yo ZoomZike, I love your Identifying Luck series, but one of the most underrated aspects of it has to be the intros you make for each one, it is so good and I love how it's all connected. You think once you finish this series you'll release a video of all the intros that flow into one another?
I can’t believe it’s been 4 and 1/2 years since your first Identifying Luck where I gave you a reminder that DK Jungle isn’t the only level in the entire series with two Boo’s. We’ve come so far and for the record I’ve learned so much from these, can’t wait for the next one!
The joy I felt when I saw this is unreal. I just wanna say thank you for making these videos. Not only are they really informative, but also super chill and relaxing to watch. Thank you so much for making my days better
now that you mention it, it is kinda insane that someone can make the act of _literally describing Mario Party 7, The Unabridged Version_ as exciting as he managed to make it lol. That takes serious talent! And there's some seriously good strategies in here imo :)
The Hopscotch Happening in Bowser's Enchanted Inferno is yet another happening space that is significantly easier in 8-player, tag team mode than in normal mode because it allows you to have 2 chances to nab that star. This allows you to use trial and error on one pair, which might increase the odds to as much as 1/4
Just finished the episode, and WOW! I've been playing this specific Mario Party for over a decade, and I still managed to learn things I haven't before! I love Identifying Luck so much, and I was screaming when I got the notification. Cheers to such an awesome series!🎉
It's so underrated tbh, I know people are put off by the motion controls but it had so many awesome boards and minigames that didn't require motion controls.
I absolutely love this video. I love the Identifying Luck series so much. Thank you so much. The GameCube Mario Parties are my favorites, and MP7 is my #1 of all time. I haven't finished the video yet (I've watched the orb section, but not the main boards) - but I wanted to add one note about the Warp Pipe Orbs on Pagoda Peak. There are times when the Brutal CPU will unwittingly place a Warp Pipe Orb on one of the first 3 spaces. I don't get why they're not programmed against doing that, but whatever - there have been occasions when I'm at the top of the board and used it to my advantage, rolling high (preferably with a mushroom, and only if I have enough coins for it to work) so that I can purchase 2 stars in one turn. There have also been occasions where I intentionally put one on those spaces to try to help out someone I was playing against (especially common if I'm babysitting and I want a little kid I'm playing with to win). Then there are also times when I'll purposely troll an adult I'm playing with, placing one near the start so that a player who doesn't have enough coins to afford any stars will make it to the top, get sent back down, and get transported back to the top, just to get told off twice in one turn. I love doing that :)
LET'S GO BABY! Here's to Mario Party 8 somewhere down the road. This is by far my favorite video game series, super stoked that you've decided to keep the Party rolling!
I found your channel just over a year ago and watched your Mario Party videos whilst studying for my exams. Fell in love with the rest of your channel and stuck around for the ride. I’m about to graduate on Monday and this is the perfect sendoff 💙 Thank you ZoomZike!!
Outro made me tear up a bit. Mario Party 7 is one of two Mario Party GameCube games me and my siblings had growing up, and I have such fond memories of all these boards and minigames. It really is a fantastic cruise to faraway places
oh hell yes. ive been waiting for this one. easily one of my favorite mario parties, right behind 3. and what a meaty length youve given us. i will enjoy and take in every second, ty zoom.
My childhood mario party, personally. Pagoda Peak was always our favorite board, and this game also has a lot of my favorite minigames like Kart Wheeled, La Bomba, The Final Countdown, and especially Shock Absorbers.
The final episode is finally here! This has been an incredible series of videos and I have loved every single one of them. You pour so much effort into your content and I can't wait to see what great new things you will do, now that Identifying Luck has been concluded ❤
This is my favourite Mario Party game! While I really hope you can make videos for 8 and DS too, this will be a great finale to Identifying Luck if you don't. Can't wait to watch this monster!
I remember playing Mario Party 7 around the time it came out. I even remember seeing the commercial of guys in costumes for Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, and Bowser. I can’t believe how much much effort you put into analyzing Mario Party 1-7. From the boards to the bonus stars of each game. You did not disappoint at all with this video series.
Mario Party 8 is the only Mario Party game I ever got to personally own. I did play Mario Party 6 a single time, but didn't get to play even a full game, so 8 - even with all it's flaws (and Kamek's infamous slur usage) - still manages to hit a soft spot for me. I look forward to seeing you cover it!
Yoooo!!! Congrats on finishing all of the 7 mainline Mario Parties ZoomZike! Plan to set my evening aside to fully watch this and gain even more knowledge to crush my friends and family.
Me: Having taken a 5 hour long exam "My Brain is fried, I need to unwind" UA-cam: Would you like to watch a 5 hour long video about a Mario Party game you've never played? Me: Yes...yes I would.
After watching TRG do a full playthrough of MPDS, the amount of RNG shenanigans in that game is INSANE. They have hidden blocks that can STEAL your stars!
Y’know I was about ZoomZike the other and was wondering how how he was doing and then on this day July 13, 2023 he drops the biggest “identifying luck bomb” on us for Mario Party 7! Thank you so much for this and welcome back King! 👑
Man you have no idea how long I've waiting for this one! Mario Party 7 is my favorite in the entire series (entirely because it was my childhood one). This video is going to simultaneously be a massive nostalgia trip, and going to be the basis for my MP7 related takeover
Found this channel/series when this video came out, and I've been having too much fun with the ILMP series. Love the contrast of the voice of despair alongside the game's fun music (Slot of Stupendousness is a highlight). Very well made videos, lots of effort, both informative and entertaining.
My favorite time of the year: The Identifying Luck upload! MP7 is part of what I consider my Mario Party childhood trio (2, 6, and 7), and I think it’s extremely underrated! Each of the boards just has SO many little quirks and neat things to discover! One of my favorite things, more on the thematic side, was brought up to me recently though. MP7 is all about globetrotting and tourism; with each board representing a specific popular city to travel to (Grand Canal = Venice, Neon Heights = New York City or Hollywood, Pyramid Park = Cairo, etc). Meanwhile, Bowser’s Enchanted Inferno is an original location for Bowser that’s reminiscent of a theme park- a tourist trap that’s commercially successful, but more often than not the equivalent of junk food to a traveler: Fun and tasty, but nothing of nutritional value. Really love that imo
I actually really like having the randomized bonus stars. I think it adds a lot of strategy having to aim to be best in a lot of things. Plus, having coin star AND minigame star oftentimes just gave the game to whoever won the most minigames. I mean, I get that playing the game the best means you probably should win, but Mario Party is all about drama. Just being guaranteed victory without any competition is lame.
This was absolutely worth the wait, and the fact that the Mario Party I grew up on (8!!) will be getting coverage melted my heart, keep up the great work! PS. Hope to see DS and -e too!
has it really been so many years? Wild how one can be dedicated to strategizing party games like this, makes me wonder what it would be like if there were professional tourneys out there.
I just finished the entirety of the video! Absolutely amazing job, that was worth the wait I never knew MP7 was so similar yet so different from MP6, that's really cool I'm so hyped for MP8 by the way, thank you so much for deciding to continue the series
32:12 Seven Identifying Luck videos, but not once has he talked about a critical part about the Mushroom or any multi-block item. *The probability bell curve.* When rolling a single block the odds of getting a specific roll is the same for every number: 10% Each of the ten numbers is equally likely to happen. But when you use the Mushroom and roll two dice blocks, the number 11 will occur more often than any other. Why? Because with two dice blocks there are ten different ways to get that number. 1-10, 2-9, 3-8, 4-7, 5-6, 6-5, 7-4, 8-3, 9-2, and 10-1. Compare that to, lets use the number 4. Only 1-3, 2-2, and 3-1 can make 4. Three combinations. When using the Mushroom, look 11 spaces ahead. That is the most likely space to be landed on, at 10% odds. For each space higher and lower than 11, that space is 1% less likely to be landed on. This means rolling a 20 only happens 1% of the time. For that reason if number higher than 11 is desired, a Magic Orb is better than the Mushroom, as it doubles a single dice block, keeping the equal 10% odds for all outcomes.
tfw there's a gamemode in Mario Party 7 that requires every minigame, but you unlock them with dice rolls and there's one I've never landed on in 18 years.
You forgot to mention that as Koopa Kid is about to steal coins from one of the windmills, he will sometimes hides himself in a bush disguise to avoid being caught by a Koopa walking by.
One thing I have to point out about the 2v2 games. If you are teamed up with a CPU, in games like Battery Ram and Buzzstormer, they will follow your instructions/lead almost perfectly. Even if they were on easy mode. That can be better then even being with a skilled player. No fighting on which way to go.
hearing the mario party 8 opening screen tune is so nostalgic to me, it just makes me light up every time as it was the first mario party I played and to this day is the only one I've owned I have now played other titles in the series with others but 8 just holds that special places in my heart as my first.
Just want to say thank you for making this series Zike, it's no doubt takes an insane amount of effort to make each one. You have created a video-form wiki of competitive Mario Party strategy which is both an invaluable resource and an insane undertaking, and as someone who has watched all of the Identifying Lucks it's been an amazing ride.
I must admit, for when we're looking for specific things, this is absolutely beautiful. I wanted to observe the Vacuum Orb for my studying, and you go deep enough into it that we get to see it used properly. Many appreciations.
My favorite detail about this series is how it addresses players of all skill levels. Obviously Mario Party is no esport let alone a game with active matchmaking, but its fun to think about how much more depth gets added to the minigames when you factor in player experience.
Well now I can't edit it because it's been hearted, so I have to just say in a reply when I'm done lol Edit: completed in 2 days! Can't wait to see future installments, maybe even 9 and 10? I get that they're the bad ones, but 9 was still my first mario party game and I'd love to see its luck identified.
I find it funny that the “Identifying Luck” thing stopped at the game before Mario Party 8, the first Mario Party I ever played. Almost as if the creator knew I’d generally be more used to it. (Either that or it just doesn’t fit for one reason or another)
Thank you Zoomzike! My friend & I do a marathon best-of-7 dash through MP1-7 every now and then. I usually have 6 & 7 in the bag, but I struggled with the early titles. I swept him last time - a little bit of luck, but knowing the optimal paths & star spawns definitely made all the difference. Mario Party 6 & 7 identifying lucks only reinforced what I'd mastered already as a teen - but it was definitely amazing to see someone else understand the game to this level of detail! Be nice to play sometime - nobody's beaten me on Mario Party 6 in around three years. 🤭
One thing to keep in mind about Magic Wand vs. standard mushrooms: While the average spaces moved per turn is the same for the wand and a regular mushroom, the magic wand is significantly more likely to land on extreme numbers (e.g. 2, 4, 18, 20). A regular Mushroom will tend to roll a total around 11, and is less likely to roll a number total the further it is away from 11. In particular, there is only a 1% chance to roll a 20 (and also 1% to roll a 2). The magic wand, however, has an equal 10% chance to roll any of the 10 even numbers from 2 to 20. This can make the wand more unpredictable for your movement, with a greater chance to get unlucky and move only a few spaces but also a greater chance to move a ton of spaces. The fact that you get two turns of this per wand use does smooth out the total space gain per use chances, but if you need to move a lot of spaces in one turn, it's definitely something to keep in mind. On a related note, this game has a weird way of doing team battles, as not only do both members of a team move together as mentioned, but instead of rolling a single 1-10 block, each member rolls a 1-5 block and the two are added together. This is quite notable as similar to the mushroom, you will be more likely to get a more "centered" result, in this case a 6 (with a 20% chance of rolling that). You also can't get an end result of moving only 1 space; you will always move at least 2 spaces, so you can "park" behind a dangerous space and keep yourself safe from it. That said, you will need more coordination when using Slow Shrooms since both players still have to roll their die individually, so if you're playing with a human teammate, make sure to arrange beforehand what each person will roll to get the total you want.
This has been a great journey ZoomZike, I've watched all of your Identifying Luck in Mario Party videos over the years to help me get a slight edge when playing Mario Party Netplay. Your strategies have helped me plenty of times, especially when playing mind games with skilled players. Even when I'm just playing casually with my friends they accuse me of cheating at times because of all the little things I've learned over the years. Glad to see you decided to do MP8, that one has some of my favorite boards in the entire series and I can't wait to see how I can do better.
A general defense of the Fireball and Vaccum orbs: Both coins's main benefits are not their ability to earn you coins, they instead have a much stronger effect: Stealing coins. Removing 10 coins sounds like it wouldn't do much, but that can be enough to cripple somebody from getting a bonus star, from getting that orb they need, from being able to buy a star, heck, to start chipping away at a rich player's piggy bank. Not to mention they will likely need to pass you, which means you can take another 10 coins if they roll high enough to pass you again, or force them to use an orb or take a different path. The Vaccum doesn't sound good, but AOE stealing is pretty simple: 1 coin = Bad 3 coins = Wash (1 coin deficit is worth removing 3 from every other player) 5 coins = Profit 10 Coins = 30 coins It can significantly swing the wealth economy and will almost certainly make one player struggle in one way or another over the course of a game.
I don’t know if it’s been said, but it seems the reason for the warp pipe existing but not be used is because all maps seemingly want 3 red orbs in its selections, but for some reason those two maps have only 2 options. To make up for the empty option, they put the warp pipe so I guess the code works? Obviously going off assumptions but it seems the most likely.
I love you. This video singlehandedly makes me happy, as there's an in-depth analysis of the one Mario Party I have a backstory with. Kudos to you to all the work you've put in this series.
woah! this video is insanely cool! i’ve been watching IL for a while on an off, i really gotta go through the rest of the games and videos when i can. i’m so excited for more! MP8 was my first mario party so i’m so excited, the hotel stage in that one was always my favorite. petition to get nintendo to bring back hotel stages, they were so unique and fun! great work!
Always a treat when one of these Identifying Luck videos come out! You did leave out one thing about the Mushroom and Gold Mushroom related to the 8-player mode that may be worth mentioning since it provides the biggest dice block coin bonus in the franchise. In 8-player mode, each player on the team rolls a 1-5 dice block. If both players match their number, they get a 5 coin bonus With a Mushroom, there are 4 dice blocks in play, and matching all 4 results in a 50 coin bonus With a Gold Mushroom, there are SIX dice blocks in play, and if the team matches all 6, they get a 300 coin bonus
It's fun to see the different quirks of one of my fav looking mario parties. I find it hilarious younger me figured out that trick, where more coins causes you to have more options in the shop. It's why i hoped for coin removing traps the most so i would never lose that opportunity while my friends floundered about with low coins with no chance of anything good from shops. Never really told them...what you get when you play mario party by yourself a lot xD
I remember playing Mario Party 7 when I had the GameCube and recognize the 8-Player Ice Battle mode where 8-Player Battle Royale was even an option in which 8 players competed against themselves. My goodness! But this applied to six of the twelve 8-Player minigames - Grin and Bar It, Hammer Spammer, Gimme a Brake, Bumper to Bumper, Bob-ombic Plague, and Shock Absorbers. Out of those six, three of the minigames (Hammer Spammer, Gimme a Brake, Bumper to Bumper) could result in seven players winning the minigame if you and six others all got really lucky. This is also the first game in which without cheat codes, you can't set Player 1 to CPU which is kind of odd as previous Mario Party games allowed you to do it after deciding the order of play to begin the game. And it's also the first where team battle (tag and 4-team) change format where you roll, move, and stick together rather than going individually. Maybe there could be a part 2 of this exclusively for team battle formats (especially 4-Team Battle) and how they differ from Battle Royale in MP7 gameplay wise? That would be something...

pretty sure DK spaces give you single players more often when you’re in lower placements, not 50/50. I’ve never seen 4th place get a multiplayer. 1st can get a single player but it’s very rare.
@@MrToadTheGamer yeah also the lower place you’re in the higher chance of getting a star(1st place can never get a star). Bowser is a similar thing where the lower your placement the higher chance of a multiplayer.
also orbs in mp7 can give 1-5 coins, not 2-10
maybe it's just my luck, but i think that battles are a lot rarer in this game than in 6. i rarely see them in 7 compared to in 6 where you're likely to get 1 or 2 per match.
With this, I can finally say that Identifying Luck has been my favorite film series of the past decade or two
I am heavily invested in the Identifying Luck Cinematic Universe
For the longest time, I thought nothing could rival my love for the 4.5hr masterpiece that is Lawrence of Arabia. Then Zoomzike posted Wario's HONKADONK and going into that hole led me to Identifying Luck.
He confirmed he will cover MP8 at the end of the video though, so the series isn't over yet.

The fact that the Shy Guy says "Go, plebian! Amuse us!" for this ridiculously difficult, high stakes happening space where you have to play the best Mario Party of your life to secure that star really adds an extra layer of sublime beauty to it.
This line proves that shy guys are considered part of the high class.

The dedication that this guy has to Mario Party is insane
Turns out, "ZoomZike" and "dedication" mean the exact same thing
Heeeey if it isn't the coolest paper mario partner ever!
He should play with the Party Crashers
Yep, especially when it's your favorite installment
Yep, plus it's conformend that it will drop this month.
@@martonandrasszalanics.478 THIS MONTH??? okay i got excited
Solid theory!
That makes enough sense to be believable. We all know Nintendo isn't above punishing someone for being talented.

It can hilariously lead to them completely locking themselves out of using orbs, it's great
I wonder why?
Could be that they lay eggs on a regular basis

This is the one I’ve been waiting for the most. Mario Party 7 was the Mario Party I have the most nostalgia for, and I think it’s pretty underrated.

Holy crap! Can't wait to relax for 5 hours listening about Mario party! LETS GOOOO
Bet King of Skill watches these videos. There's no other explanation for how he's so good at Mario Party.
Agreed, the talent that he has in Mario Party is abnormal
Considering he's been playing Mario Party with his mom since he was a kid, a good chunk of these videos could be information he's retained from all that experience under his belt 🤔
It all makes sense now
This is some of the best and highest quality content to be found on UA-cam. There aren't really any other 5+ hour videos that are so well scripted and entertaining throughout and feature no offscript rants.
Hey, for MP8, there’s a semi-consistent way to time the roulette (for this instance, we’ll use the 5, 10, 20 coins wheel for this)
5 coins space: throw the dart ASAP
10 coins space, as soon as the wheel starts spinning, move your arm up without holding a + b, then swing it back down and hold down a and b as you do
20 coins space, as soon as the wheel starts spinning, move your arm up and down without holding a + b, the swing it back up and hold down a & b as you do
Even better, throw the dart when what you want is in the 9 O'clock position, always worked for me
@@hyperfairy7779 Same here (on the 9 O'Clock thing). Works with any dart wheel in the game.

Yo ZoomZike, I love your Identifying Luck series, but one of the most underrated aspects of it has to be the intros you make for each one, it is so good and I love how it's all connected. You think once you finish this series you'll release a video of all the intros that flow into one another?

Glad to see you decided to cover Mario Party 8, its always been my personal favorite.
This was absolutely worth the wait, and the fact that the Mario Party I grew up on (8!!) will be getting coverage melted my heart, keep up the great work!

32:12 Seven Identifying Luck videos, but not once has he talked about a critical part about the Mushroom or any multi-block item. *The probability bell curve.*
When rolling a single block the odds of getting a specific roll is the same for every number: 10% Each of the ten numbers is equally likely to happen.
Oh. The Super Shroom's most common odds are an equal chance of a 16 or 17, at 7.5%.
tfw there's a gamemode in Mario Party 7 that requires every minigame, but you unlock them with dice rolls and there's one I've never landed on in 18 years.
Yay! Im getting prepared for the plethora of Mario Party 7 Streams that will follow the video
You forgot to mention that as Koopa Kid is about to steal coins from one of the windmills, he will sometimes hides himself in a bush disguise to avoid being caught by a Koopa walking by.
Now we need someone to splice all the intro animations for each identifying luck episode in one shot.
In Mathemortician, the torches signify when a boo will appear. So using that, you can easily get some boos before they appear on screen
These videos are literally King of Skill's brain when playing Mario Party!
KEEP up the great work ZoomZike!
Let’s gooo! Time to enjoy this piece and all other indentifying Luck again. Great work!
I have been around since ILMP2, this series has been with me through so much. I just love this kind of passion project.

Obviously Mario Party is no esport let alone a game with active matchmaking, but its fun to think about how much more depth gets added to the minigames when you factor in player experience.

oh god were getting to the era of Mario party I’ve actually played. Cannot wait for the MP8 entry, that’s the one I played the most as a kid.
One thing to keep in mind about Magic Wand vs. standard mushrooms:
While the average spaces moved per turn is the same for the wand and a regular mushroom, the magic wand is significantly more likely to land on extreme numbers (e.g.
A general defense of the Fireball and Vaccum orbs:
Both coins's main benefits are not their ability to earn you coins, they instead have a much stronger effect: Stealing coins.
The Vaccum doesn't sound good, but AOE stealing is pretty simple:
1 coin = Bad
3 coins = Wash (1 coin deficit is worth removing 3 from every other player)
5 coins = Profit
10 Coins = 30 coins
It can significantly swing the wealth economy and will almost certainly make one player struggle in one way or another over the course of a game.
MP8 was my first mario party so i’m so excited, the hotel stage in that one was always my favorite. petition to get nintendo to bring back hotel stages, they were so unique and fun! great work!
Identifying Luck might be the only series that I use both as bedtime ASMR *and* in-depth content for when I'm bored.
If both players match their number, they get a 5 coin bonus
With a Mushroom, there are 4 dice blocks in play, and matching all 4 results in a 50 coin bonus
With a Gold Mushroom, there are SIX dice blocks in play, and if the team matches all 6, they get a 300 coin bonus
