I wish the work place was more accepting of dreads. I need to be self employed so that I can do what I want with MY hair! You explained that dreadlocks so much more than a hairstyle yet sadly the world doesn’t see it that way 😞

I started my dread journey almost 3 years ago. For the 4th time. I always knew dreads were for me but it wasn't until I started it this time that it had a deeper meaning to me. It came at a time I got clean and did a complete 180 in my life. I am now the person I was always meant to be and dreads helped me become that. Love this video and your philosophy on dreads!

please read all and give me your guidance if you can it would mean a lot to me, sorry its soo long. I was dedicated, I grew my hair out more than ever before including my beard.
I was doing yoga and meditation everyday and eating the foods my body told me to eat not the foods I liked the taste of. then I allowed the outside world to effect me and i was depressed and bored. I had dedication but no guidance. So I went back to smoking and then slowly everyday I stopped meditating I shaved for my job because the looks and thoughts I could feel from others started to effect my emotional self. I completely let go of all of the spiritual stuff and went into a life of feeding my ego and chasing dopamine. I stayed vegan and kept some other good habits but I lost a lot of clarity and joy.
Now here I am about 2 weeks into being sober and cigarette free ( still eating a lot of processed foods). I have done some meditation but not daily in the past two weeks. I feel intimidated by going back to being dedicated, I feel anxiety about it like what if I do get there but then I fall again and go down even lower than before. Well thats just a made up concern in my mind not a reality but those thoughts do make me feel something in reality but its my responsibility im making those thoughts.
Any guidance any advice? Maybe its completely up to me, im just fearful that I can not get there myself.
Part of me wants to dye my hair green for the (zmanthevegan) style but I know thats appealing to this lost society we live in and might bring short term wellbeing as far as financial security that will give me more freedom and take me away from my day job but will it get me to expand?
I am on the path to my higher self but I feel like taking a detour as zmanthevegan for a little, will I regret this? maybe or maybe I have to burn myself one more time to know not to do it again. Maybe I can do both and behind the scenes I can reach my higherself even as I am dipping myself into the toxins of this world both socially and physically. I imagine it will be harder as if I am taking a path to the same destination just with more obstacles.
Part of me is skepticle of this which is strange because I have felt and experienced much from being dedicated and doing things like a 24 hour fast while meditating next to a very old and big tree for 12 hours.
Thank you for your influence which brought all of this back to me. Iv spent most of the day focusing on the outside maybe its time I look inward. I just dont feel motivated enough to do that. I want to go spend time with my fiance, I want to play music, I want to take a walk and enjoy nature. I just dont want to do yoga or meditation or take anytime to change the way I breathe and live in each moment. I hear the infinite value yogis like you speak of but I have yet to experience it for myself. I know I could do all of those things in a meditative way but I have no desire to do such a thing right now. Seeing you reminds me that there was a time that I did and I fear I might be missing out on a more fullfilling life.

As soon as I started mine in 2012 the transformation processes was huge. All natural, made by your own hands is the way to go. I have had family go to a salon and something is lost in that processes as well.

I didn't cut my hair for year and half, but past 6 months I stopped combing too to achieve freeform locks. Today I had a massive urge to undo it, and I did. I found out there was so much dirt build up inside the several free formed locks and it was very sticky too. Took two hours to undo them, after exposing to fresh air it looked discoloured and dry from the rest of my silky smooth hair, not to mention the blood flow and combing sensation enhancing my mood. I just think freeform are not hygienic at this point or I don't know if I was doing something wrong. But anyways I've learned it's not for me as I feel better after combing and looks better healthier too. Maybe I'm socially conditioned who knows

I shaved the sides and underneath of my hair to grow out the rest of my hair longer because it would always get so matted my friend told me it would help didnt believe her but now I'm always gonna keep the underneath and sides shaved I love it and will never go back
But was going to start the process of dreads but honestly I think I like braids better after I did braids for a gathering I went to can always take them down wash and go right back to where I was yes alot of work but I am happy with it for now dreads are still kool tho who knows may do them in the future

i also believe wearing certain conditioners in your hair can make you less sensitive to picking up on energy. hair feels different without conditioners that stay and build up on your hair blocking energy flow. by all means put oil in though it's nice to maintain hair too :)

Also how did the dr bronners work for you? I used it for close to ten months before I realized it was building up and making the Inside of my locks gooey. I switched back to baking soda water and acv and it went away thankfully haha

Please stop calling your locks dreadlocks, they are not. Historically speaking they are elf, fairy, or druid locks... And yes i have freeform neglect with a similar hair type. I just call mine locks, they are far from dreadful.
