Fifth gen AC's here always stood out to me as the most practical combat mechs in fiction, since they're pretty small (25 feet or so) and they were designed for urban warfare. It makes the most sense in a modern war setting lol especially with the shoot n scoot mentality of most heavy armor lol
Yes they are so fricking cool, but... If they exist, it would be a logistical and technical nightmare for every armored forces. Except if war doctrine is really really changed in the future. We will see

Maybe a bit too closely. This seriously feels more like US army invades Iraq but with mechs more than it all sells being a post apocalyptic power struggle. Saying "Where life still exists, the people cling to life" is a bit undersold by a mass aerial assault on a fully lit city styled after modern, non post apocalyptic war footage frankly too closely.

I can definitely see the thought process. Given that the entire world saw the invasion of Iraq footage I'm not at all surprised. In the post apocalyptic Future shitty corporations will still go to war in the middle east for oil (natural resources) and life will still desperately cling on in the wreckage wherever it can. Is very bleak but it just feels armored core to me.

I love how "of the times" this trailer is. The Gulf Wars and Middle Eastern interventions were very much active in the minds of us during that time. You can see the influence of it here. The pan shots of a city under attack during the night remind me of the Baghdad bombing campaigns.
It's so sad how dope this game was and how unpopular the entire mech franchise came to be, most of these comments are years old too and it's 2020 and we still don't have any good mech games besides Titanfall 2, i'm upset.
maybe because how unintuitive it is for newer players, although i dont play gen 4 nor 5, it took me months or even years to learn just the BASICS of LRp.

would love to see a game based off the AC setup for customizing but plays with machines weighing alot like in the trailer here. A lot of AC builds end up being who can zip about the fastest and i cant keep up with that play style.

Bring back armored core! Its 2022 and i just got done doing 100% playthroughs of AC4 and ACFA. Such great and underrated games. Many have tried but no mech game these days is near what armored core was.

Each numbered game marks the beginning of a new timeline completely separate from the other timelines. The only exceptions to this being Armored Core 1 and 2 being in the same timeline as well as Armored Core 4 and 5 being in the same timeline (which actually wasn't confirmed to be the case until Verdict Day came out). @@dooggo-1402 both game is good at very immersive mech game that make you feel like you are playing as a pilot it just comes down to what kind of mech western or eastern you are piloting. For me I like both mechwarrior give you that walking tank star war walker feel/ titan from Warhammer feels. While the armored core give you that gundam/ patlabor style game. Even the slowest AC of the generation 5 and verdict day are going around a medium weight speed of 70 mph.
It looks awesome but when you realise how horrifying this future is you would not want to pilot these things.I can't imagine suffering from PTSD piloting these things.The killings and the destruction would render you emotionless just a vessel made for killing no humanity left. This invention just steps on our pride and honour in battle. Truly horrifying.Especially being a foot soldier I can't imagine what I would feel to stand in front of a fucking 150mm cannon before it just decimates me.
And that's a light gun, as well as non energy.....my favorite will always ALWAYS be the dual back mortar launchers in master of arena......that just wrecked everything!
I've been playing Fires of Rubicon since launch day, and as much as I love the storyline, and the graphical improvements, I miss the aesthetic and weightiness of ACV. I also miss the greater variety of individual parts the older games had, instead of only a few for different broad specs they have in ACVI.

Looks like FromSoftware has made a comeback with Elden Ring - they’re now developing Armored Core 6 for a reboot of the series.

I've been playing Fires of Rubicon since launch day, and as much as I love the storyline, and the graphical improvements, I miss the aesthetic and weightiness of ACV.

I don't like the aesthetic of 5/VD at all.
It's extremely visually overbearing, not to mention cluttered.
Gameplay is just frustrating.
