I know this will be a story unconnected to the previous armored cores, but I can't wait for your exposition videos on this story. Hopefully there will he enough for a new arc in the "prepare to cry" series.
My body & mind is ready for the moments from this latest title. Thank you! Thank you so much man for ur concised an hour and a half vid on all AC games. It preps & refreshes a lot of my experiences from AC 1, 2, & 5 (gameplay wise, not so much on the story 😅).
The view of the giant robots tiny head made it look weirdly vulnerable and cute, like an oversized dog. It'd make sense they're piloted in the same way as the ACs. It plays up the body horror not only of being turned into a shrink wrapped corpse but also forced to act as the brain of something inorganic and malformed.
I just completed the game and I’m wondering the same thing. This adds so much depth to your character, you literally had nothing in life and Walter gave you a reason. Also it’s such a beautiful cinematic that shows how raw armored core fights can be
So many little details in this trailer. 620 diving in front of 617 to what looks like confuse the targeting system on the ground tank. 620 looking like hes realised the weapons hes carrying aint gonna cut through that armor and going to switch as he gets hit by the plasma shotgun and taken out the air. 617 619 and 620 seem like a very well oiled unit, who have been fighting together for a long time, covering the weaknesses in each others weapon choices through the flexibility in each others arsenal.
Makes you wonder, what ever happened to 618? If 617, 619, and 620 can work so well together, do you think they lost because their team wasn't at full capacity?
A tiny detail that I notice and love is how, as soon as -l619l- 620 got their right arm blasted off by that energy shotgun cannon thing, they immediately start shooting with their left arm gun. No freezing or shock of losing their arm, no evasive maneuvers to get out of the sights of that cannon, just right back to attacking the dammed thing, focused only on completing the mission and blasting through what's in front of them. Tells you a lot about how these "Hounds" tends to operate.
And some dark implications to boot. A brain trained to get the mission completed at the cost of one's life. To ignore pain and push forward. To keep fighting even after your whole unit has been wiped out. Just assess the environment and situation and calculate next objectives. Goodness I can't wait.
@@Wolf10media I mean we're "Hounds" in this game right? The mercs who went into the Human Plus program because our debt was too high. Sold our flesh and became augmented to climb out of it only to become a product for the very corporations who caused us such debts in the first place. Our armoured core is the only way a hound lives and the only way a hound dies.
"I'll give you a reason to exist. Let's get to work." Such a dark and disgusting line, I love it. FromSoft has cooked up something special and impactfull yet again, you can feel it 🖤
At least Warhammer 40k dreadnoughts are revered, blessed, fueled by fellowship, and a sacred mission to complete, which is infinitely more important than themselves. Hounds look just like expendable meat, used by heartless greedy capitalists.
@@rKhael53That's basically Armored Core in a nutshell. Elite Ravens and cheap conscripts all alike, just another line on the balance sheet and an expenditure for business.
Definitely diving headfirst into the darkness I've always loved about this franchise. That's the thing people can't see if they just watch the old gameplay videos, and watch clips. It's the tone. The actual dark scifi that it truly is. From Software is no stranger to this theme in its games, and Armored Core is no different. It's at the heart of From Software. It's in the title.
This trailer is a good blend of fantasy and realism and made it's world believable here. The mech that narrowly avoids the first laser blast, you hear the sound of powerful jets screaming away, trying to keep it upright even as it's squatting down from the landing, so it really gives a sense of weight even with the speed they travel at. The second one was in mid fire of it's missile salvo that probably caused it to dodge a second late and rather than the enemy weapons being a joke it absolutely shreds through the armor showing for how powerful the mechs are presented they're like tanks of today and are weapons platforms rather than nearly invincible Gundam. Same with the energy shield right after, even though it's a fantasy element it's shown to only be able to do so much before it fails from enemy fire with the mech losing an arm right after emphasizing the level of danger. The dialog in between help build anticipation for the battle scenes and gives you an inference of just how merciless this world is. You pick up on all these cues intuitively too. No screaming hero, no needless dialog. It's really a good trailer, grim, gritty and suspends your disbelief to make an impact.
You never seen gundam if you think this looks more realistic than any One Year War suit. They moved much slower with much more weight and less durability barring MC plot armor
@RAAM855 Based Evidence, but Armored Core is still more realistic than Gundam overall. I look at AC as if... what if Gundam was In its own universe, but under the rules of standard reality, I'd say the older games would definitely fit this rule... Imo, The Monster Monsterverse, Gundam, AC, PR, all take place in the same universe, just alternate timelines 🗿. Hell, even Blaster Master could count somewhere in the background, just like no one talks about how Space Dandy and Cowboy Bebop could technically be in the same universe. I would say though, Gundam and AC are the most compatible having a shared universe, and a crossover title would probably bring the mecha fans to their knees. PR and The Monsterverse imo for the most compatible together but would need heavy timeliness adjustment, and it would make sense for humanoid mecha to be thought of only after the successful production of Mecha Godzilla to separate the humans a bit more from their wartime targets. I could actually see maybe Cowboy Bebop actually fitting well with GITS if you count personal aircraft as not being widespread and affordable yet for the general populace, with hacks and such maybe being attributed to certain individuals....
@@Azuchilimited I don't get why you started blabbering about the viability of shared franchise universes? We did not mention anything about it. Should have just left the comment at the first paragraph, rest was some reddit tier stuff.
Armored Core has had gritty, cruel transhumanism ever since the first game, but it’s crazy seeing the visceral brutality of Human Plus firsthand. It’s like our character is just a slab of meat with wire transmitters sticking out of him. He can’t even communicate. He’s barely a person.
Really puts into perspective how hard it was for the Human Plus escapee in AC1 to warn you about human plus as he died. The fact that he could speak even that little bit must've taken all he had at the end.
The weapon impacts dont just make sparks or knock off parts- you can see the ACs get unpeeled by the force of impact. Massive props to the animating team.
After playing the game I finally watched this. Now I wish there was a PVE coop mode for this kinda stuff. Facing an absurd number of enemies and even multiple bosses with others.
As long as your brain is still functioning, you can still pilot. Your mech is your prison and tomb. Mission must be complete at all costs. Your freedom will be death, and you must earn it.
imagine how cracked 621 is canonically when 3 AC pilots barely defeated the Cataphract while 621 did it solo. Although tbf 621 has mommy Ayre who tells him the Cataphract's weakness

That's the entire meaning behind armored core really. It's a really interesting take on an AI development that has manifested it's own consciousness. It serves humanity, but it is self aware to the point that it understands it's directive, and is saddened by it. I wouldn't be surprised if this time they have the core have a rogue unit or something.
After 120 hours gametime this trailer is so much more meaningful. The CATAPHRACT, a Liberation Front mission, Walter and his impatience, the 600 plus ACs before us and the "The Man Who Passed The Torch" theme.
The thing I just noticed rewatching after playing through the game is the line connecting him to his AC which is providing a steady supply of Coral. Since 621 is an older generation augment reliant upon it.
Less so 600 prior combatants and rather the augmentation serial number of the pilot. Player character is C4-621, the other three pilots are likely 4th gen as well so C4-617, C4-619, and C4-620. The earliest I can recall encountering in game is C1-249.
"the man who passed the torch" ... is it just me, or does anyone else feel like the torch being passed, is not to 621 ... you are destroying this 70 year old mans life purpose, and you just came from killing his friend, and only other person who can relate to what hes been through I think the song is a metaphor for something else besides the relationship between Walter and 621

It should be noted that this is an ALT mission, so it might not be available on the first playthrough.
I tried using the loadouts of each. 617 made quick work of the CATAPHRACT and 619 was decent against it, but 620’s loadout was more of a struggle than I thought. Had fun with the challenge though.
I'm surprised how much emotion can be conveyed through mechs in a battlefield. The visuals of augmented human pilots is unsettling in a good way and gives a dark and visceral tone to the story.
@@mkzheroI saw another one of your comments, this scene is the death of 619,620 and 617 while fighting the PCA to get Handler Walter onto Rubicon without being shot down by their lasers. 618 Was killed some other time by the independent mercenary Sulla. So your player character , Raven 621 is just the one being woken up in this clip after their deaths, not the one fighting.

I love the brutality in the art and sound. It's kind of amazing how well they managed to convey a sense of pain without showing a single drop of blood. Edit: The American Red Cross doesn't count. It's a blood transfusion and has nothing to do with the "brutality" that I'm talking about. I'm saying they don't cut to the pilots in the cockpits with bruises and cuts like in other mech media.
Gotta love the heavy machine gun into the other mech's head while also pushing the gun in. To me at least it conveyed a sense of desperation and anger.
They did show blood on the dude in the operating table a couple of times, 2:43 the part when the tubes comes out of the ear, blood starts pouring out of the needle but it cuts off right away, that was gross
Yeah, the bomb blasts, machine gun fire, and seeing the infrastructure getting blasted to bits convey a lot more than seeing some poor schmoe's insides becoming his outsides.

@@SlayerSeraphthey're modified humans made specifically for piloting these death machines, and it's not like ravens have risked their lives for corps before, the reason is unknown
@@SlayerSeraph These don’t seem like lone wolf mercenaries. Remember, each AC timeline has its own take on what a Raven is. Ya know what I really love. The gattling gun has little runners on it. There to support it when it gets put down for maintenance or changing weapons. A detail for the non mission times that is often ignored
Same , it reminds me of the fact that the Titanfall mechs (at least the ones of the first game) have a support thing to put the ammo in case they need it , sort of like having a belt of ammo
I especially liked how the barrel tips were all melted and deformed. I've seen that happen on a machine gun range in the Army. They shoot so much the barrel turns red hot and starts to liquefy due to the sheer number of rounds and heat generated. I feel like this game is going to have a very gritty sense of realism injected into the Mecha Combat.
@@thegamersconclave8709 Add to the fact that your character is on the operating table literally being brought back from the brink of death and reconstructed as an augmented human with the corral device most likely acting not only as way to handle the AC more fluidly then others, but as a dead man switch if Walter thinks you outlived your usefulness or try to oppose him early in the story. Who knows, but as a old fan myself I am excited nonetheless.
The needles and thin cords make 621s surgical procedures look so fragile. It adds to the horror. Also, it appears that an unknown person is selling literal bodies to Walter as pilots.
I just noticed something, I think 620 jumped in front of 617 to get Cataphract's lock-on away from him because 617 was the only one of the two of them equipped with the EMP.
By equipment i would say, he got in front to get in good range stagger it, so 617 could rush to the cannon or to damage the cataphract or maybe just to cover his companion

And the gameplay reveal trailer opened with a shot that was definitely a call back to the opening of AC 2 as well. Fromsoft is hiding all sorts of little references in the trailer.
I love how understated the conclusion to the action sequence was. Typically in these kind of scenes, that act of martyrdom is sold with some explosive earth shattering crescendo to the violence. But personally I find the opposite approach more impactful- where the final moment is a bit more subtle, concluding events with a whimper rather than an all powerful bang.
Not only that, but it's not even a sacrifise because they can just grab your dregs, revive you, and hook you up to a machine to continue being a slave. No martyrdom, no heroism. Lives are cheap, death is just a minor inconvenience. Reminds me of Cruelty Squad.

This is honestly one of the best trailers FromSoftware has ever done. They know that the Armored Core fan base has been waiting a long time for a new game and they’ve been knocking it out of the park each time with every new video. It also perfectly helps establish the world of AC for people who are new to the series.
More like a soft reboot or retcon at worst. The MC seems to come back to life like a souls MC but instead of magic it is weird science. Unless what you mean by "the world of AC" is the feeling of the game in general which we would see if they deliver a proper AC game and not a Frankestein because they arent confindent in that it would be a hit like elder ring because people arent used to AC gameplay mechanic.
@@setiem13 From what I read on TV tropes each numbered AC game is its own continuity so AC4 and AC5 are in their own universes, AC6 is no exception to this rule but it is the first time an AC game isn’t set on Earth instead it’s set on Rubicon VI hence the name “Fires of Rubicon.
I like that we're really leaning hard into the "you are nothing, you will be nothing and nobody will remember you when you die" attitude towards the game protagonist. Its always been there in FromSoft games but you could be forgiven for not picking up on it in the early games

When Carla asks how it's going, he responds with how *you're* doing, nothing about his mission or himself, even though that's what she was asking about. At another point in the game, Snail calls you a "mutt" and overall is just quite disrespectful towards you. Without wasting a single moment, Walter immediately demands he shows you more respect. He jumps right towards your defense, even though you being treated with respect has nothing to do with his mission. There's a bunch more examples, but those are the two biggest ones I can remember currently. Our initial thoughts about him couldn't have been further from the truth, we just had no way to know. Damn, Walter's such a good character. Another one that I like is G1 Michigan, since he's similar to Walter in that he's not allowing his personal feelings show, but instead of being cold he's being snarky instead. Summary of what I understood : We're playing the augmented human number 621, integrated in an AC of the "C4" model. Our boss is the handler nicknamed "Walter", who sends us on Rubicon for some reason. Theories : augmented humans seem to be some sort of property to handlers : notice how "walter" calls the pilot "it", how the doc calls our character "functional" like we're some machine. Augmented humans probably have no human rights or at least aren't considered having the worth of a human by the rest anymore). Other theory is, notice how the AC wakes up but not the pilot's body. It kinda feels like these ACs (or at least our own) are like the Dreadnoughts from Warhammer40k, a machine controlled by the will of the inert body that is now stuck in it for good (thanks to the Coral, see the gameplay trailer again). This is just a bunch of ideas, if you noticed anything else don't hesitate to add it
To embark on this holy crusade is to be immortal (also that's a good theory but I don't think its right because I believe it's just 617/621 that will be able to do that because when 620 and 619 fall it says vitals lost while when 617 falls it says 617 is down instead of vitals lost
I believe that in the end they pass the human's mind to the machine, that's why when they end the operation and disconnect the human, the machine turns on
I've said time and time again that a good mech fight requires dialog. Not just between pilots, but between the machines as well. And boy do these machines talk. They scream in pain, sorrow and determination. They sigh in resignation, smile in defiance, and charge forward with their mouths wide in one final yell. August 25th is going to be a good day.
I watched the trailer again. The writers do a great job in driving home the fact that the mech units, being technologically advanced weapon systems, were made to be cheap and replaceable. All that matters is that they complete the mission objective, even if that means getting turned into scrap metal in the process.
Don't forget how that goes for the cybernetically enhanced pilots as well. Expendable assets, not even human. Just bags of meat in suits of metal and guns.
I don't think ACs are supposed to be that easy to replace since there are only a limited number of them in each universe. They aren't like tanks or fighter planes where they can be produced in the thousands.

Taking out the CATAPHRACT is really satisfying after waching this. Makes 621 seem like a legend for taking it out by himself. Not to mention the fight is fun as hell. I've used it to try out builds.
Will be remembered by the corporate ledger. 619 and 620 will be replaced by similar specimens of similar resolve but hopefully greater capabilities. We're here for work, not for ideals, after all. That's AC.
The worst part is they're essentially debt slaves who have been forced to give up their lives, bodies, and even their souls to fight as mercenaries on behalf of Walter. They aren't fighting for anything. No ideals. Not even money. They're dogs of war sold out to the highest bidder to be used as expendable and replaceable soldiers. They all died to get Walter rich and nothing more.
This is INSANE. Usually AC trailers or opening cinematics don't focus on the fact your pilot exists in a grimdark world, or that your pilot exists at all. Also the brutality of this trailer is so much heavier than other AC game intros that showcase an AC battle in spectacular fashion, but this, with the other hounds' mechs get eviscerated really make drives home the idea of expendable mercs/slaves. I keep coming back to this because its literally haunting me. Especially the clash of 617 and the Cataphract, two machines fighting for superiority, a desperate struggle of who is determined enough to overclock their boosters to the breaking point just to overpower the enemy. I'm not ashamed to say this trailer brought a tear to my eye. For me, Fromsoft has created an atmosphere and tone which draws me in, even with how little has been revealed. In particular, when the AC rams it's chaingun into the huge MT, the camera angle changes to the face of the AC and you can see the AC lean in defiantly, like we see in other forms of media when two characters come face to face. This strikes me as very human and like I said it makes me unexpectedly emotional.
It's brilliant. I feel like I've experienced better filmmaking through this 3 min trailer than I have from like 99% of Hollywood for the last 20 years.

The way the other hound barrels into the main hound and cuts him off as he's firing away really makes wonder whether it's cooperation or a competition to them.
Nice catch. I think it’s safe to assume that all of Squad Alpha or even all of Walter’s hounds are human + subjects likely because they’re drowning in their debts, so they fight like hell and take whatever chances they can if it means getting the bigger cut. Unfortunately no one came out a winner here.
if you slow down that part, he didn't knock into him, he just flew in front of 617 so I feel like it could've been more to take aggro. There is some merit to your comment though because, in case you're unfamiliar with the past AC games, some missions do give pay based on commission for the enemies you've killed or targets destroyed.
@@machination2166 That too. I saw that 617 was about to get lit up as he started firing, so maybe 620 noticed this just in time and jumped in front of him to screw with the tank’s targeting? Suppose it wouldn’t be very smart to screw over your backup, especially in a situation like this one.
There is maybe some truth to that but i doubt it It seesm more like 620 was trying to confuse the enemy's targeting system because He would've Had a better time just shooting the enemy rather than getting infront of 617 If it was a competition In the whole trailer 617 is shown to be almost erage by how it's mech move maybe still recovering from it's Squad's death, it even show sadness at 619's death, and after 620's death it seesm to be enrage at the enemy using everything it has to destroy it Tho this is just my Observation and anyone else could have different view so there's that

Alistairb said it best. This is grimdark absolutely grimdark. It's maybe not as dark as say Warhammer40K ,but it looks like AC6 is easily gonna be the darkest one of the series to date.
This is so exciting. I first got introduced to the Armored Core series back in the PS2 days!!! Always nice when devs bring back a piece of your childhood.
The silent narrative of this whole 3 minute sequence is astounding! Master class! On my first watch, I really felt 620 and 617 teaming up and the death of 620 pushing 617 over the edge. Every subsequent viewing I see more cool small things.
The tone of this trailer resonates with an unyielding, bone-chilling brutality, laying bare the very essence of the mech genre's unforgiving nature when stripped of the colorful glamour seen in most humanoid-esque mechs of the anime and game industry. Each of these mechs exude a ruthless mechanical aura, seemingly crafted with a single, relentless purpose: to unleash unbridled war. They are simply machines, engaged in a remorseless dance of destruction, obliterating one another without a hint of humanity.
Something I didn't notice until now 1:19 - Walter's got a walking cane. If not from an implied injury at least, this already hints at how old he actually is by the time you get to the last stretch of any of the routes

Can't understand why they didn't put this cinematic to start of the game. It would fit perfect and give players a bit something about story
I just completed the game and I’m wondering the same thing. This adds so much depth to your character, you literally had nothing in life and Walter gave you a reason. Also it’s such a beautiful cinematic that shows how raw armored core fights can be
They did that with the Elden Ring trailers too, I guess it's just a FromSoft thing
My guess is that the body horror may have bumped the rating up
My guess is because in the long run, you're just going to start skipping the opening cutscene, so you may as well off-shore that to UA-cam.
I was pretty upset that there was no cool intro cinematic like there has been in the other games. I loved watching them.
617 lowers also his weapon to not hit 620 befor he swags from the left.

Welcome to the franchise my fellow Ravens!
It's like Gundam, but they're all vulnerable, even the featured "main" mechs, despite there being no real main character because of customization.

Ya know what I really love.
The gattling gun has little runners on it. There to support it when it gets put down for maintenance or changing weapons. A detail for the non mission times that is often ignored
It’s probably also there to shield it when it inevitably skids on the ground during landing/boosting.
Same , it reminds me of the fact that the Titanfall mechs (at least the ones of the first game) have a support thing to put the ammo in case they need it , sort of like having a belt of ammo
ok
Can we just talk about how gratifying watching the detail of dozens of spent casings leaving the gatling gun was alone?
I agree. Almost reminds me of the intro to armored core 2 with how the AC where moving to their objectives while fighting opposition.
Unless what you mean by "the world of AC" is the feeling of the game in general which we would see if they deliver a proper AC game and not a Frankestein because they arent confindent in that it would be a hit like elder ring because people arent used to AC gameplay mechanic.
reminds me a lot of the demon’s souls intro movie
@@setiem13 From what I read on TV tropes each numbered AC game is its own continuity so AC4 and AC5 are in their own universes, AC6 is no exception to this rule but it is the first time an AC game isn’t set on Earth instead it’s set on Rubicon VI hence the name “Fires of Rubicon.

I like that we're really leaning hard into the "you are nothing, you will be nothing and nobody will remember you when you die" attitude towards the game protagonist. Its always been there in FromSoft games but you could be forgiven for not picking up on it in the early games
At least you become something in the other games. In this I feel like after beating it no matter how significant your victories it'll just be another "mission complete." I'll love it if at the end we die or get decommissioned with Walter not even batting an eye
@@hadowsinc.3156you're probably right but there's always the chance of some scientist finding a way to turn you back into a person, true posthuman or digital construct free of Walter's bullshit.

He seems cold and dehumanizing at first, but he just doesn't show his real feelings, he suppresses them so he can get his job done.
He really does care, more than anything else. He just couldn't show it, so his emotions wouldn't get in the way.

Yeah, I just rewatched the Walter boss fight ending, and I completely forgot about his line: "You've found a friend."
Walter seems the type to suppress and bury his compassion, since it's a brutal world and they have to be ruthless - not to survive, but to succeed - for his own sake, as if he lets his emotions control him, it may be a matter of life or death.
Damn, Walter's such a good character. Another one that I like is G1 Michigan, since he's similar to Walter in that he's not allowing his personal feelings show, but instead of being cold he's being snarky instead. Many folks find him to be a good charismatic leader, trying to reign in his soldiers to focus on the mission, and to not underestimate 621.
Props to FromSoft and the VAs for their great work!

Summary of what I understood :
We're playing the augmented human number 621, integrated in an AC of the "C4" model.
This is just a bunch of ideas, if you noticed anything else don't hesitate to add it
"Even in death I still serve"
To embark on this holy crusade is to be immortal (also that's a good theory but I don't think its right because I believe it's just 617/621 that will be able to do that because when 620 and 619 fall it says vitals lost while when 617 falls it says 617 is down instead of vitals lost
I believe that in the end they pass the human's mind to the machine, that's why when they end the operation and disconnect the human, the machine turns on

I've said time and time again that a good mech fight requires dialog. Not just between pilots, but between the machines as well.

@@Existential_Robot Technically AC4 had elements of romance, we did leave with our operator at the end of it to build Line Ark with once AC4A was released.
Thank You. Paying homage to White Glint is indeed very much appreciated. 😊 From the missiles while approaching combat, fighting a larger opponent, losing use of the left arm weaponry to the stare down and initiating assault armor... i was screaming DO IT! DO IT! ASSAULT ARMOR!! DO IT! Absolutely nostalgic for me. We didn't get a sequel story wise but at least White Glint may become as much a spiritual staple as the Karasawa and Moonlight. THANK YOU!
I can't remember for answer but what happened to white glint after the bridge fight? You think they will be in this? :)
@@roninbyproxy Well unless they recover White Glint from the bottom of the ocean, I'll go with no they aren't gonna be in it lol I hope they get referenced a lot though!
@@roninbyproxyno, this is a whole new story so he's not in this era. He's the most directly beloved character/protagonist in the series hands down. It's sad we might not get a direct reference of his prowess lore wise but at least we can get some fan service spiritually.
@@roninbyproxyBut White Glint actually did survive the fight after Line Ark.
@@StellaAlamarr You mean his pilot?
I keep coming back to this because its literally haunting me. Especially the clash of 617 and the Cataphract, two machines fighting for superiority, a desperate struggle of who is determined enough to overclock their boosters to the breaking point just to overpower the enemy. So many emotions conveyed without even showing a human face, this is what I love about the sad side of the mecha genre.
As a long time AC Veteran, all I can say is how absolutely incredible this game looks like it's going to be - There are so many games, movies, and TV shows from my childhood that I felt just got worse and worse every time, but Armored Core... It's the one thing I can ALWAYS count on to be Armored Core -
All of us ol AC fans have been waiting for this a long time can wait...looks really cool too
If you don't count AC 5 I agree with you.
@@darkjill2007 When you say AC 5 you mean Unity right? It had issues but its graphics still hold up today, I diddnt like the french setting either though.
Hey! How's it going Boss!
@@danhobart4009 yea the mechs jumping into bails of hay really threw me off. No Verdict Day. I didn't like how they played at all. I think that because i spent soooooooooooo much time in For Answer
It's nice to know even the trailer shows the real struggles of missions, and this is how it felt doing most missions growing up...just intense you may loose limbs, run out of ammo but always keep pushing and adapting to what comes next.
Made me remember how hopeless I felt in AC battles.. you just forget about death and fight with your all... and win.
@@antaresvariant2306 Tired opinion. The CGI and direction of a film like Dune for example is otherwordly, or Arcane (greatest animated works I've seen the last 10 years). Don't let internet hate-narratives influence you so much, you will rob yourself great works of art by being needlessly bitter.
This trailer slaps, but it's under 4 mins. Comparing it to film-making is silly.
1:35 thanks to the comment section, i just noticed 620 jump in front of 617 to attract that cannon's lock-on.
I want this to sneak in and win GOTY so bad. Imagine FromSoft going 3 for 3 on GOTY releases. Like Elden Ring, this is shaping up to be a truly special game. A landmark title that defines other games in this style that come later.
And much as I like that to happen, we all know goty this year is going to be tears of the kingdom. Starfield may have a shot at it depending on how well it launches. I am most excited for AC 6 but mecha genre is just too niche even with the fromsoft bump
didn't dark souls 3 win GOTY as well? iirc they did do 3 for 3 for GOTY (ds 3 , sekiro, and ER)

One of the biggest next 2-3 months in gaming ever
There is maybe some truth to that but i doubt it
It seesm more like 620 was trying to confuse the enemy's targeting system because He would've Had a better time just shooting the enemy rather than getting infront of 617 If it was a competition
In the whole trailer 617 is shown to be almost erage by how it's mech move maybe still recovering from it's Squad's death, it even show sadness at 619's death, and after 620's death it seesm to be enrage at the enemy using everything it has to destroy it
Tho this is just my Observation and anyone else could have different view so there's that
@@fegeleinherman8587 Sadness, anger, even it clumsily stumbling back as 620 drew the tank’s fire, almost as if it was screaming out, “Wow!” Assuming that 617 is in the same state as 621, the emotional body language of that mechanical war machine has to be the result of the direct neural link from the pilot to their AC, much like Pacific Rim or Evangelion.
2:30 and until the end of the video, "Allmind's theme". It was here all along.
This trailer felt disgustingly "real". This is some heavy and desperate sense of dread out of a dystopian war riddled reality.
"hopeless" is the word I'd use. A win, but at a terrible cost. Very Grimdark.
@@Adeptus_Miniatures terrible cost as in you in the negative after a mission is over cause you used too many resources and now you're in the negative
Real? Yea just yesterday I saw a mech fly past my window, crazy how far technology has come.
FROM Software has figured out the formula to bring our nightmares to videogames... and we relish it!
This trailer is giving me the same excitement that I felt as a young teen watching the cut scenes in the old AC games. I hadn't felt that in so long.
I'm on the other side of this, as AC6 will be my first, but I love Fromsoftware and this game just looks astonishingly good. I can't wait.
@@Spiral81C1 Oh nice!! Assuming they got it right again (they likely did) you're in for a real treat with this game!!
With so many armored core 2 and 3 vibes in this, this just may very well be the best armored core yet. Incredible.
The silent narrative of this whole 3 minute sequence is astounding! Master class!
On my first watch, I really felt 620 and 617 teaming up and the death of 620 pushing 617 over the edge.
Every subsequent viewing I see more cool small things.
This looks awesome. Cannot wait.
I agree same here 😊👍
The tone of this trailer resonates with an unyielding, bone-chilling brutality, laying bare the very essence of the mech genre's unforgiving nature when stripped of the colorful glamour seen in most humanoid-esque mechs of the anime and game industry. Each of these mechs exude a ruthless mechanical aura, seemingly crafted with a single, relentless purpose: to unleash unbridled war. They are simply machines, engaged in a remorseless dance of destruction, obliterating one another without a hint of humanity.
But yet you can see humanity when the AC is laying broken.
@csgost well said.
I'm very sorry to say this but this basically reads like something an AI trained on IGN articles would write.
True poetry my friend.
It’s reminiscent of 86! Good show
Something I didn't notice until now 1:19 - Walter's got a walking cane. If not from an implied injury at least, this already hints at how old he actually is by the time you get to the last stretch of any of the routes
Killing old men, sasuga fromsoft
It was 50 years ago that the Fires of Ibis happened. He's at least 60 or 70 years old.
@@DragonessYT If he's the kid in the Institute data logs, Walter is probably somewhere between 58-62.
1:28 is the moment the player notices the weak point, he tries to hit it to no avail and his teammate dies during the pincer
1:52 is the moment the player punishes the weak point
it's a really cinematic moment for the feeling of playing the game and noticing a boss's weakness and getting to it with everything you have
I'm more curious about why this wasn't in the game and why the game has no mention of you being crippled, at least in dialogues.
@@mkzhero One of the initial dialogues in the game has Walter telling 621 that, with the money they could earn in Rubicon, maybe they could do something about 621's fried brain.
@@ThomasBreaker yeah but that's pretty frigging vague don't have it think?
@@mkzhero Not really, and the more you advance in the game, the more information you get related to the human augmentation programs. Looks like gen 4 is rather old, and the older generations had low success rates, and secondary effects. There is even mention of gen 1 subjects, who had a survival rate of 10%
@@ThomasBreaker yeah but you don't exactly care about gen 1, nor gen 4 (well maybe be you do but more lore wise), you care about YOUR CHARACTER SPECIFICALLY.

Hm...
Not sure what depth he means, but at least its give more depth for the Walter's possession. Probably ~620 "tools" before MC comes, stupid gacha
@@BobSB129I think the further depth is that 621 is absolutely crispied up here, burnt to a gruesome extreme, and in the fires of raven ending, they're unleashing a supernova's worth of fire willingly. Went from incidentally burnt to ready to become ash.
How can a game feel so close yet too far to go. Want this already.
Badass. Loved how desperate they were to complete the mission no matter what.
But like, not for any good or even patriotic cause. That's what's crushing about it. This is just corporations fucking with each other.
That cannon looks like it was aimed at something other than them, maybe protecting an attack?
And it's all for nothing. They were expendable slave soldiers sold out as "mercenaries" by Handler Walter.
