Checking out old gravestones can be quite fascinating ..there is an ancient church yard with beautiful old stones near to where I live . . The architecture of them and history of names and dates of who is ‘at rest’ is interesting. The beautiful old statues are lovely to see also. Weird the flashlight - I would have moved on as well . Enjoyed this series . ❤xx
Don't Ilona, that would of freaked me out, bloody hell. Good plan moving on from there. Glad you got a good night's sleep. Love your exploring, take care Ilona xxx
You are such an interesting lady, I have a tiny campervan and looking forward to retirement to do what you do, please carry on posting your stealth camping adventures! How do we find your blog?
I'm 63 years old. My old camper van had to be scrapped last september. Last night i did my first night car camping in my vauxhall zafira. Lovely to be out there again.
Hello Sue. I've seen other car campers using a zaphira. I think they have more head height than my Focus. In a car you have to be super tidy living in a limited space. Something I am quite familiar with being an ex lorry driver. Enjoy the summer in your car.
Maybe the black lab wasn't the kind of doggy they were looking for.... The one thing I have noticed while on the road is the lack of legible road signs and speed signs.... I went to Chester and back today virtually every sign at significant junctions was obstructed by overhanging tree branches and they were ALL so filthy they could barely be read. I went over an hour out of the way due to this... I don't have a sat nav I use maps, however, If the roads aren't identifiable what do you do??
You are brave, Ilona. I have never camped on my own. A few years ago we camped at a site just off Bodmin Moor, literally. One other van was there, but it left the following morning. So we were on our own with our dog. It felt quite odd, and I made sure I took the dog out before it got dark, as there were no lights. The cart track out of the site was on the moor, and the gate was left open. It did nothing for my nerves. Getting the van hooked up was difficult, and in doing so, I lost one of my favourite earrings. We were well on our journey before I realised, so the stay was not a success.
Hello Ilona ☺. Was going to comment on your vlog re your trip to St Bees, Muncaster Castle etc. However, your comments are switched of, understandably! I recently spoke to you about losing my beloved husband Terry in December 2023. We had been to the same area back in September. But sadly I didn't get many pics because neither of us were that well 😢. So I just want to thank you for the memories. We loved Muncaster Castle and the birds 🦅🦉. Happy memories ☺. Sending love, light and holiday blessings xx
Hello Veronica. I am confused, my comments on the blog are not switched off at this moment in time. They have been switched off in the past because of the amount of trolls that send me nasty messages. Comments to the blog are on at the moment but don't appear instantly because I check them first before I release them. Best wishes. ilona
Interesting story Ilona. I would be terrified 😮. You are one cool lady
