game definitely isnt dead, but as you said its on its way to being dead which is too bad because this game could have been so much more then its current state
One of my biggest complaints is the fact that creating a server for you to play on with your friends is way too difficult for your average weekend gamer... Talk about not making a multiplayer game multiplayer🤧
Nwi track record is bad. They abandon games look at how they dropped Insurgency 2 for Day of Infamy and Sandstorm, but they dropped Infamy support too 😂 fd up

It somewhat pains me knowing that sandstorm is partly bring left In the dust by NW, especially how unique it is.

The problem is major, because 100% of their game rights has been sold.
I don't know the details, but I believe whole NWI studio has been sold, not just the game.
Who does that that cares for the game?
Nwi has been pulling this bs for a while. They abandoned previous Insurgency rapidly and announced that they don't have time for it, while working on Sandstorm. It really was abrupt and unreasonable.
Now they sold right to Sandstorm.

When they were doing all these updates for previous Insurgency and suddenly they completely fd off.
It rubbed a lot of fans wrong.
It's their track record.
Whoever ran those decisions needs to be fired. They created a console version to abandon the game now.

Original Insurgency (technically Insurgency 2) was abandoned for Day of Infamy first, then completely shelved from updates with Sandstorm announcement.
I think original Insurgency had 2 year shelf life.

Some publishers have a deal that they own your IP in order to receive funding. This is probably what happened as this is industry standard practice. They probably didn’t manage to get better deals from other publishers who rejected them.
for me, the game just needs more maps. thats it.
i just like to play domination or free for all. just to have fun, and the only thing i dont like is the few maps we have.
the game is great, every kill feels amazing.
ive just ran a few games not too long ago, did some domination. And I dont really feel much difference with some months ago so, still feels great to me!
No complaints here either! I do however keep getting the bad connection icon even tho my internet is 10/10 and ping is under 40... No clue what that is about!
@@JereZiii hmm I’ve had that happen too, not that much though. And it doesn’t really bother me as like you said, the performance is great.
As someone whos played insurgency since 2009 religiously, I dont think it will ever die, even with the original source mod i could only ever find 2 servers with a ping of about 200-250 and every day i still hopped on, then 2014 came out, played that and still to this day can find servers to play if i boot it up. I think even if they take it off the market or take it down, the player base will find a way to sustain servers. (edit: not to mention living in Western Australia as well with its terrible internet speeds and tiny population, this is the only game i have ever just gone for matchmaking and apart from a couple hours between 4am to 6 or 7am the wait can take a minute, but usually i have a match within 10 seconds)
I've already seen the vid from Gibs, and as you said quite well, I'm anxiously waiting on official news as well.

I play it on Xbox and I never have trouble with player count, there are always plenty of players to fill a match.
i think the only thing thats gonna kill insurgency either Server shutdown or no updates, cus this game is iconic i'v played many shooter games but insurgency is something else

The game has server files so it will never die. I can easily host a server for me and friends add some bots into the mix and some mods and it's perfect.

I finally got this game about a year ago but haven't had online the whole time. I'll be sad if by the time I get wifi the servers are dead

i actually just installed for the first time via game pass just tonight and ranked to lvl 12 before calling it for the night and i was having a blast!

I surely hope not, I just picked this up and I’m pretty hooked with the gun play, game mechanics, and weapon customization.

I remember when I bought it a couple months ago a bunch of people said it was dying and I panicked thinking I wasted my money. I'm at ease since that ain't true

I watched that MJE Gibbs video about a month ago, but here is what kills this game more (if you are in USA):
Squads of 1200+ rank vets that are unbroken by autobalance. Usually I will see people like Shane, T00L, Armenian, PSN, and a gang of usual vets that play this game excessively (3000+ ranks)
Then they will just cheese the spawn with RPGs, 40mm and will exploit every way to flood the spawn with rounds and molotovs.
I go by LiftedSeven, and I usually do tend to pull some creative spawn camps, but I do it solo.
I can be a nightmare by myself, and I am around 1300 rank or so.
Now imagine 14 men, in a two 6 to 7 men squad, each flooding your spawn with incendiaries, c4s, grenades, or shooting at concrete walls with penetrator rounds, because they know exactly where those rounds hit, and I am talking spawn camps.
Plus backcaps to next objective, 2 commanders, 3 observers. Very capable people with great aim.
I called pretty much all of them out on it, and I told them that it's bs that you stack teams like that.
They just laugh and never unstack the teams, as they know autobalance does not work when you are in squad.
It destroys all the fun, even when you have people like me carrying, it's just an odd situation to see anyone with those massive squads "enjoying" the game, and also destroying any fun for you. How is that fun?
I regular Battlefield 4, and best games are the games when you are neck to neck with an enemy. Those games are fun. Rather than end up on the same team as the vets and steam roll the next round.
I've actually seen these sort of groups a lot in push mode! I mainly only play domination these days and the problem isn't as in your face there as it is in other modes! Balancing is definitely an issue in this game.

I feel like most of those people don't have any happiness in life and never play on their own level.
Though it is satisfying when me and gang 50 rank dudes win against them. There is a level of team respect for your mutual effort victory
I love that. I don't respect these dudes that stack teams, I don't want to say they are losers, but they exhibit loser behavior.
Like college kids playing middle school basketball team, and then being proud at the end of the match like they achieved something special.
I think they should include a modern look part to the game and tdm & free for all.
But the game has gonna better since I started playing it again
From being a level 400 it is slowly hard getting into a match. I’m on ps5. Times I’ll play around 10pm and I’ll get the oversea guys 😂😂😂
The people from SOCOM need to pick this game up, like buying there company and come back.

All my lobbies are full so idk but I will say this they could amp this game up in many ways more game modes, guns, and more players per lobby maybe even add the looter shooter aspect to it like dmz on cod it would completely re amp needs to be more content it’s literally one of the best shooters out imo
If they can't maintain it, they should release the source under a license so we as a community could take over.

Imagine if the next game they make is ww2 but insurgency sandstorm.
Or even a Vietnam edition, security would be like U.S, ARVN, ANZAC, ROK, and insurgents would be Vietcong and NVA forces.
And every time you level up you unlock random stuff for a Security/Insurgent forces and get some credits.
That would be awesome!
They already have a WW2 tactical team-based fps it's called day of infamy.
And it's on PC only which is a damn shame because it was released in 2017 and never came to console.
But 2 be fair FPS games are best played withPC. The freedom accuracy of mouse, the precision in gaming with KBM is far superior to any controller released till date

I've been playing IS for like 4 years already, unbelievable, I have 2095 hours of play time in this game, it goes to show how much this game is fun for me to play up to this day, can't believe I've played it for that long and will still wanna play it for a while, it's that good, I just wish their whole mod system could be as good and usable as that of Far Cry 5, there it's way easier to install a mod map and play it and it has no bugs of redownloading tons of endless maps all over again each time or putting their heavy size on the HDD, but yeah, except for that or bugs the game is super awesome and fun and addictive and great overall, 5/5 stars regardless of those issues.
Its huge on console. High pop servers everyday.

Actually being in Xbox game pass might only kill the game as microsoft will be giving very small amounts of their revenue to the games and developers. It relies more on microtransactions here.
I think Insurgency and its creators are epic but they definitively are gonna be at loss even while more people r gonna download it from gamepass

or B) it gets released on a subscription where there is, even if little, a bit of money to be gained.
I never would've gotten the game myself, thats for sure, but this way they still got money from me. (even if its a smaller amount, its better than 0)
Just picked this up on PS4 over the weekend. Had my eye on it for some time. Always thought it looked really clean and could take on the typical CoD play. Hopefully it sticks around.

@@JereZiii It's actually one of the better FPS games I've played. It's fun.
On the dev side it feels so dead. A ton of bugs from the update still in the game and it's like we might get 2 updates in a year if we're lucky and I feel like it will be even less now. And even then they don't fix bugs, they add stuff so much worse than they could add and idk just don't feel like the devs care to make it a good game anymore.
They recently allowed crossplay between Xbox and PC only. That shows you that the player base is extremely low and officially Kills player base because Xbox does not want to play against PC players. The developers mentioned months ago that cross play is supposed to be Xbox versus PlayStation only

Xbox players don’t have to play with PC players. There’s an option to turn off crossplay.
If it's dead I'm screwed, I just bought this game on Steam summer sell literally 20 min before it ends lol.
I already had this game on Playstation, but I ain't fucking around paying for PS plus scams anymore. But the game is fun and the only reason I took so long to buy it on Steam, was because I also absolutely hate Microsoft Windows garbage, but I've seen people on UA-cam playing it on Steam Deck so, I hope it works out when I get home later today

insurgency was actually pretty fun , not a bad game at all , was thinking about redownloading it again but i’ve been stuck on tarkov for alittle . this game just needs to add more weapons
its not at all dead, we have to remember the people who bitch the most about insurgency are the people who don't even play it to begin with, the game still has a dedicated fanbase, you can still find co-op games in SECONDS, and the PvP is still kicking as well.
Has it been slow the last few months? sure, but it's always been slow after content releases. they release a operation then do bug fixes then go radio silent till the next operation, it's been like this.

The problem is someone makes a video talking about how a game is dying and then other people get influenced and start naking cideos too about and then you get a bunch of videos about how a game is dying until other players start believing it and either end up stop playing it or it deters newer olayers from trying it out
I mean with these sort of big news there are always going to be videos about it! Atleast i was realistic and honest and said that I don't see this whole thing effecting sandstorm, because I don't!

main issues being insanely sweaty players and unfair team balancing, youll have one team completely dominating just because a squad of 3 high level try hards are on their team..really fuckin stupid honestly. im level 600 myself, and even I think its unfair LOL.

no matter how many bugs and how little content there is in this game, we still choose to play it, because there is no competition
BF and COD are too arcadey, and games like squad are too realistic and slow-paced. insurgency is the golden center of FPS games
