I can't stress enough how important it is to measure the chains against the mug... I used 50 chains to fit my mug which is a standard-sized coffee mug with a handle and I added a button to put it on through the handle. Hope this helps anyone who wants to make this for a standard mug. It's very cute and beginner friendly, I taught my friend how to crochet by helping her make this.
