I have to say - I relate more with the off grid cabin than I do the tents. See, I'm a geologist in real life. Been out in the wilderness in tents, backpacking, capmping all of my life and especially when I was in college and grad school. 6'2" skin and bones. Point of that last sentence is I can't hardly even think about sleeping in tents anymore. My body just can't take it. We're about the same age but I feel like I beat myself up too much with sports and wilderness adventures in my youth...Love the gear reviews though. This channel is my go-to before any outdoor purchase.
As an archaeologist, I agree it’s hard. I’ve had my fair share of anything from tent camping, to stealth camping in my car, you name it. Sometimes having a cabin like this is the little luxury you need after a long day in the heat.
Watching your propane stove reminded me of a a propane stove my dad purchased in 1972 when we went camping in a pop-up trailer.. it was a Primus.... & in my early 30s .in 1991 newly separated then divorced I took my three little kids camping every year for 7 days .. right up until.. 2002.. the Primus propane stove still works beautiful! Shows that a quality product can last a long time.. now I'm getting near retirement age.. my plan is to buy a high top van.. and convert it into a camper.. the stove I use will of course be my Primus two burner propane stove, ❤️
Luke buddy....I already bought the spice kit after seeing it in a prior video. My wife said if I buy one more thing I see in your videos I can't watch your channel any more. She gave me the ultimatum of either your channel or her.....I will miss her 😊😊
Hi Luke. Watching you prepping breakfast and listening to the rain on the cabin roof was sooooo relaxing I nearly fell asleep watching the video, lol. This video was so full of atmosphere it was a pleasure to watch.
I have used a cargo trailer in the exact way you are as in semi permenant but able to take with you if you want. I put 4 holes at the corners of where trailer are and filled with concrete and sunk a 12 inch bolt with eye into each one then attached trailer with cable and turnbuckle. I did this mostly to prevent any straightline wind from possibly ever rollinig it onto its side. I used heavy duty locking d rings to attack turn buckle to tariler end so I can remove them when I want to pull the trailer. I also have use a 20 inch box fan with a filtrete filter taped to back to keep allergens out while sleeping as the wife is allergic to seasonal allergens. I would be of theo pinion being in NW PA that it works well for the smoke as we have had some really bad days and it doesnt bother us so much indoors. Great video keep em coming!
We are in Pa. and the smoke was so heavy yesterday that we thought there was a fire in the burrow down from us, three miles away. We could smell it and taste it in the back of our throats. It's still very hazy today and they said air quality will be worse tomorrow. My heart goes out to Canadians living with this and I pray that the fires are extinguished very soon. Glad to see you were able to get out even if it was just for some peaceful (and wet) down time relaxing. Be safe Luke. Prayers for Canada.
@@Juliah-gc7ts I just checked the weather again and we are due for thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon so maybe it will clear up. But then again, who can trust the weather man. I hope you are doing well and staying inside. God Bless.
Hey Luke hope you're doing well. You missed one more step in your cooking process. Cooking the tortilla. By cooking I mean warm up the tortilla. Put that tortilla over the fire. Flip it around about 3 times on each side. Flip after a couple of seconds so it can char up a bit. That will make it easier to roll. You can also put the tortilla in a pan and warm it up that way. Hope you're being safe have a great day
Sorry for all the smoke! I live in Ontario Canada and we have crazy air quality days! It usually pours rain in the spring. We did not get it. Matched with a lot less snow it created a disaster. I have been in the hospital with pancreatitis caused by my diabetic meds. I’m not allowed coffee! I was so jealous to see u drink a cup lmaooo!
Hope you get to feeling better!! How are the fires? Are they beginning to get under control? I live in Idaho so just below Alberta where they also had quite a bit of fires. Praying for Canada 🇨🇦 🙏 ♥️
Hope you feel better soon. We had a super wet spring in Colorado this year which was unusual. I think we got all your rain. Everything burned down in 2018 where I live. 120,000 acres and the fire got a couple miles from our town. Pretty scary. The forests are coming back, though, and a lot of grass and beautiful Aspen trees are coming up to replace the pines. The animals getting caught in fires, are the biggest tragedy, but the land regenerates very fast. Hang in there!
Luke, I love the sound of the rain hitting the camper. I would have no trouble falling asleep there and sleeping all night. If you ever have a chance to tape 8 hours of it. It would be so nice. Please be careful of that smoke. It is really hard on your lungs. I feel so bad for the people that live there. God, Please protect them from harm. I ask this in your name. Amen 🙏💖
Hi there! I completely agree, the sound of rain hitting the camper is so soothing. Falling asleep to that sound sounds amazing. Thanks for the great video.. here in Connecticut along the coastline we have been getting the smoke also.... about 5 weeks ago it was terrible.. when I first smelled the burned wood smoke it actually smelled pretty good.. but then after smelling it all day I got really sick of smelling that burnt wood smell.. started wearing a n95 mask to sort of cut down the smoke I was breathing in when I had to go outside..
I felt bad that you had to leave. I am very surprised the smoke is now in North Carolina. If it gets to S. Florida, we really will be in trouble. The meals you made look so good! I have some shopping to do. Thanks again Luke!
When you said, there was one thing I messed up on! I thought you put your warm food on a untoasted tortilla. My wife is Hispanic. She always toasts them first, on a cast iron skillet. Try it, you may like it.👍🏻 thanks Luke.
Thank you for your video. Unfortunately, air quality is becom8ng a major issue for us. Even so, your video and drone footage is spectacular ! I liked those meals you put together. So yummy and wholesome ! Till we see you again, Luke, Strength and Honor ! ❤
Hi Luke. Every holiday with my family, we tend to have what we call a down day, it's where we don't do anything or go anywhere. We enjoy those times because we're with our family.
Nice drone work for smokey skies, Ariel footage is boss. Too bad weather didn't favor this trip but that's Mother Nature. That stove isn't as good as the Coleman, stay with the home grown brand. Thanks for the rainy trip, couldn't see the smoke from here but hope sinuses clear up. Good job Luke👍👍
Beautiful Appalachians. Peter Santenello just made a little series in West Virginia. Well worth watching. I love your adventures and your reviews, Luke. Hands down the best outdoor channel imo on YT period.
I picked up a 3M half mask and used that to get my outdoor fix when the smoke was really bad in CA a few years back. It's a smart idea to have one and a few packs of filters on hand just in case you get smoked out for potentially weeks.
My dream was to live off grid but moving to N.C. definitely has taken its toll on me. I do live in a camper now in a nice little nook close to the beach. I love your channels and reviews. Thank you for taking time away from your life to give us honest opinions.
Hi Luke!: Hope your sinuses are holding out! Fortunately we are far enough south, that we haven't had anything. . .YET. I love your wrap! I have the same problem when I make burritos! I put too much filling in, and it just keeps squirting out! A good sweet Teriyaki Sauce is Sweet Baby Ray's. AWESOME with chicken tenders or chicken nuggets even!
Good with the Bad. Your videos are nice to watch, and you do an excellent job on the presentations. Here's the but, It doesn't do them justice having to watch someone pour water and make coffee, coffee and more coffee or watching the chief corner kitchen cooking his breakfast or lunch. Not to be the bad guy here, but just give us the outdoor nature adventure or TheOutdoorGearReview. Just giving my honest 2 cents.

Hi Luke ,Canada has already recorded the WORST fire season in ALL history. And its only the end of June . Its actually scary. If we do get rain its not enough to make a serious difference , or it has Lightning , possibly lighting up more fires .You and Suzy stay safe , Always like tour videos . Q: How about an awning on the side of the "Cabin" ? you could park the truck perpendicular with the tailgate under the awning giving you access to the cargo . Ontario Canada ( Sudbury )
Hi neighbor, I lived in Suds for 15 years and now live just south of Peterborough in a little town call Bethany. The smoke here today is ridiculous and only getting worse. I totally agree on the awning suggestion and would allow for more living space too.
It's sadly and shameful such a relief having the smoke go to u guys for a minute we've been suffering with the smoke in extreme in California for years now with our own fires . No one needs smoke or heat I lost my dog to it his heart conditions couldn't handle it. I hope this passes quickly for everyone be well be safe
Hi Luke, I love the videos that you do and I like the reviews of the gear. I have a suggestion from the video today, you need to sharpen your kitchen knife, it should have gone through that tomato like butter.
Get out? Run hide? I’ve watched about 49-50 vids and I was under the impression this was about being in bad storms and testing gear? 🤔 ok I’m good with just a down home camping show. Love it. Keep filming and I’ll stick with ya either way.
We're sorry for the smoke. My poor country is burning away. Thanks for understanding We're doing everything possible. Love your channel. Always informative or fun or both.
Hi Luke the rain was really coming down, didn' t mind the rain it's the thunder and lightning I hate, the aerial view is amazing, sorry you had to shorten your cabin adventure stay safe
Loving that stove! When I looked it up from your list (months later) it shows with a little griddle, which interests me. It may just be the Amazon equivalent. I wouldn't mind some chillaxing down time in a cabin like yours with it raining all day. That's "hug yer honey" weather, and I'd be curled up with my BFF pupster watching movies, You Tube, or reading a book. It's so enjoyable just listening to the rain right now. We just don't get it often in my neck of the woods. Good idea to have the radar dialed up so I know when to walk my pup for his potty breaks. Otherwise, a tarp near the door will have to do. Our weather forecast is not all that reliable out where I live, either.
I saw your video go up on UA-cam following a strange storm that had thunder continously but no rain. It had been 90°F during the day, but humature making wetbulb conditions at 101°F. The power went out for 4 hours, and i looked for your video, but realized i had best save my battery on the phone. We were getting indirect effects from the same smoke down in SWFL. Smart of you to go home, though you may have the same smoke there. I am watching this now as a catch up.
I’m sure you hear this quite often, but your camping videos can be very relaxing ,and easily help me fall asleep. Keep up the great work bro! You’re doing great! If you ever decide to make like some of those sleep aid videos I know they’ll be awesome.
Thank you for your kind words! I completely understand why you find these camping videos relaxing, there's something soothing about being in nature and enjoying that peaceful vibe. I'll definitely consider making sleep aid videos in the future, thanks for the suggestion! By the way, if you're into outdoor adventures, I highly recommend checking out the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series. It's a powerful and versatile backup power solution that can keep your devices and appliances running for extended periods. The waterproof technology and comprehensive protections make it perfect for outdoor use. Happy camping!
I like the cabin videos a lot. You really should do more of these kind of videos some more. I love the tents and other stuff don't get me wrong but the cabin gives people a more homey feel if you know what i mean😅
ALOHA Luke hi Susie , Enjoyed Your Video as always. Yes. I LOVE Your Cabs set up. Yes good idea go home stay safe and to Canada and other state effected stay safe as well. Till your next video LOVE And GOD BLESS You GOD Bless You all Aloha Always Sister Chrissy Honolulu Hi 🤗⚘⚘⚘
I would have taken a good book to read and I would have stayed the whole time. A little rain doesn't hurt and I enjoy it. As I always say "If it ain't rainin in ain't campin"!
Luke being all smart and safe, knows when to pack it in....but WATCH, we all will now get a suggested video from camping with Steve, "stealth camping near a forest fire"🤣
Hey buddy anytime out in the wild is a great day one time I took two of my grandkids to my cabin a week before Christmas last year and it rained for four days lol it sleeted and my younger one got a cold and couldn’t breathe good because of the fire place so I had to use a natural gas heater and of course it is off grid they wanted to go home so I broke out the old board games and I showed them how to make fire with the old flint and steel we ended up having the best time I’ll never forget that week !!
Here in Oregon because I have COPD i can't mess around with bad air quality. The thing that protects my lungs is my a/c unit in my house - a portable unit that makes it cold and lovely, keeps the air clean and dry. definitely want one for my trailer.
Are you a Star Wars fan?? Can I call you Master Luke, Luke?? 😅 Thank you for this upload! The northeast, where I'm from; New York State, has been getting hit hard with the smoke from the wildfires. And I have asthma!
Hi, Outdoor adventures, great videos keep up the great work. I also have dietary restrictions, due to food intolerances. I agree the dairy free Chao is delicious and great for making grilled cheese with, including mac and cheese with chic pea pasta.

Off the wall question here, but how often do you air-check the tires and rotate the wheels on your cabin/trailer?
I thought of that also... good question.
They also sell covers to protect parked RV tires from sunlight degradation.
I'm always so glad, Luke, when you survive these certain death moments!

A great culinary overnighter!
The rain cleanse the air
Love your videos 😊
Hi Luke, I love the videos that you do and I like the reviews of the gear. I have a suggestion from the video today, you need to sharpen your kitchen knife, it should have gone through that tomato like butter.
Get out? Run hide? I’ve watched about 49-50 vids and I was under the impression this was about being in bad storms and testing gear? 🤔 ok I’m good with just a down home camping show. Love it. Keep filming and I’ll stick with ya either way.
I’ve never experienced a code red air alert but we had orange the other day and my eyes burnt. Good thing you left. Love the llamas!
It's good to see you my friend Luke hope you get home safe
Glad you are getting some rain there.
A rose by any other name will still smell as sweet. Love you guys ❤️
I wanted to watch the storm again and I had to watch the cooking !
We finally got our fires into control here in NS. Dozens of homes lost . Thousands evacuated .
Camping in the cabin awesome too.
The cabin has been a great idea
Lisa and I are in northern Michigan. We've been dealing with it for weeks now. Yesterday was especially bad. Hopefully they get it under control soon.
Really liked the music before the closing theme.
Um, Hello? Rain! The smoke will NOT be an issue.
On the bright side... the smoke has given us some spectacular sunsets.
Steve lives and camps on the edge, lol, gotta love it.
Luke seems to pack it up a bunch.
@@1954shadow I would love to see him on an adventure with Luke...you talk about good fun🤣
@@mocpehusrainey4961 Nothing wrong with caution, keeps you alive. And here he was simply following the warning.
@@IMDARKFIRE007 oh, yeah, epic! Stealth camp with a blanket fort.
Thx!! ❤
Thank you for this upload! The northeast, where I'm from; New York State, has been getting hit hard with the smoke from the wildfires. And I have asthma!
I'm so glad your using caution and safety on your trip you ya in the next video.🎉
good luck....Please be careful!!
I want to try that queso! What the details or where do we order??
Hi, Outdoor adventures, great videos keep up the great work. I also have dietary restrictions, due to food intolerances. I agree the dairy free Chao is delicious and great for making grilled cheese with, including mac and cheese with chic pea pasta.
Nature 🌳 peaceful,,,,whats not to like ❓ greetings from Brooklyn NY 😎
