My bestie stumbled upon this gem. Omg why can't we find it on anything. This took me back to better simpler times. NC 106.5 played it relentlessly. It became the soundtrack to my life. 😢 Sooooo good.
Hometown boys that started out as "The Hardsoul Poets." John, the vocalist, moved to LA. Most of the band members live in Charlotte and play in various groups today. Anyone that's watched Danny McBrides "The Righteous Gemstones" on HBO can catch a couple of them (now playing as "The Alternative Champs") as the Megachurch house band.
I thought these had to be some NC boys. I 1st heard of Jolene back in 97 when they aired on 94.5 the point (Damn Im old) and then later saw them play at Amos's Southend and completely fell in love with this band. They were around for about 3.5 seconds before disappearing into the wind. Glad to hear John is still making music!
