- Hey guys, Samuel and Audrey here, and today we’re taking you on a massive food tour of the beautiful seaside city of Halifax, Nova Scotia!
This summer, we had the chance to spend a week exploring Halifax in partnership with Tourism Nova Scotia and the cuisine was a real highlight.
Our quest for a taste of the Maritimes led us to all sorts of restaurants, breweries, distilleries, pubs and outdoor patios, and we’re going to be sharing them all in this video. We’ll dive into the seafood scene with dishes ranging from lobster roll to risotto with scallops, and seafood linguini to fusion maki rolls.
We’ll taste the beloved Halifax donair, which is the city’s must-try dish and a great street food snack. We’ll also visit a few different craft breweries, go on a sunset wine cruise, and do a spirit tasting inside the citadel.

Many of the places you visited that are in this video I saw including Alexander Keith's Brewery and the Bicycle Thief! It was such an amazing trip. So glad you enjoyed it. You missed so many other places for good food. Like the Cozy on Liverpool off Oxford for the huge Cozy burger and their pan fried haddock is one of the best in Halifax .. Tareks on Robie for his amazing Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine and you get a choice of soup samples as you walk in. The list goes on

I’m from Halifax! You hit most of the best spots for sure! If your ever on the Cabot Trail you have to try the “Ringer Burger” at the Coastal restaurant!! It was featured on the show “ You Gotta Eat Here”, best burger I ever ate! 🍔

Haha, I knew you had to hit the Keith's brewery at some point. I remember standing in that exact same spot 15 years ago and saying "Gimme everything you got!" I also stopped at Garrison brewery back then, it has changed a little bit. I think it was pretty new back then and didn't have any of the kitschy stuff, it was just a building that brewed beer. It was also right next to Pier 21 which I think is a must see for anybody visiting the area.
Hahaha...that is great to hear! I can imagine the city has changed quite a bit over the years with more development. I still feel it has a town vibe though. I just loved how we could more or less get everywhere on foot.
