Personally, I run a software called NVidia Broadcast that processes the Podtrak's microphone signal to do some noise reduction; so I set the meeting software to use NVidia Broadcast as the microphone input. But the first method should work for you. You must connect the Podtrak to your computer using the USB C connection so that your computer can use it as an audio interface. I hope this helps.

What do you mean it doesn't sound crisp and clear? What kind of sound are you hearing? Are the headphone level also adjusted to the level you want? You might want to use a headphone to check for the right level first. I've been getting noises with the p4 lately not sure why but muting all the unused outputs solved my problem
Best regards. Why don't the sounds of the pads come out in the final mix that arrives on USB, Ch4? Neither does the interlocutor hear them in a phone call via Ch3? Note: in hearing aids you can hear. Could it be that this equipment came damaged?

I've never tried this scenario but here's my guess 😅: I would say no because the USB-c is only being used as an input on the P4... I think if you connect your phone via the audio jack, you will be able to. A close example is this one I recorded for another question I received: ua-cam.com/users/shortsilSu0HCjouA But this example was with iPhone and the audio jack, not USB-C. Hope this helps a little!!
@@StephanieLin thanks! 😊 I actually got tired of asking around and doing hours of research and only to still find no "for sure" answer, so I was able to get my local music store to open the one they had off the shelf and let me audition it. Anyways! I was able to test using a Rode mic connected to the podtrak, and then connect iphone to the podtrak to use that mic to go live on FB. It worked. Just have to make sure you have the right cable!
Nice video👌🏻👏🏻. I have 3 doubts. a. Is the 🎙️ ⚡ symbol for phantom power? b. How do you power the zoom when you are using for camera only. (I'm looking to upgrade audio for my canon 200D). c. I see you connect zoom 🎧 out as input to camera. So only one mic is usable?
a. Yes it is! b. The zoom is powered by 2 AA batteries c. The headphone output includes all 4 tracks so it should be recording all mics connected to the Zoom 🤔 Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@StephanieLin Thank you for the response ❤️. c: In 1:08 there is 4 Headphone 🎧 OUT (3.5mm cable). Does these OUT represents each of their input only or we can hear other people’s audio too?. Example: in the headphone 1, will I be hearing myself + audio 2, 3, 4 or just mine. If it's just my audio itself, i wonder how to include other 3 audio to my camera.
But using this as an input to the camera means you will only have 1 track (a combined track). The Zoom recording itself will still have separate tracks.
I have a question. I've tried connecting the trrs cable from my podtrak to my Sony zve10 video camera and there is no audio on my video. I don't know why? Any ideas?
Also, its a Shure sm78 dynamic mic. Its so weird how my mic audio isn't showing up in my video. So frustrating! I'm using all the same cables too. Any tips? Any settings I need to consider on the camera?
Sorry about my super late response. Not sure if this is why, I heard that the SM7B has a lower output than most other microphones so it may need more gain than other mics. A booster like Cloudlifter may help.
@@StephanieLin what mic volume on your camera do you usually choose? Any particular dB level? And do you need to adjust the output from Line to Mic so it doesn't blow out the sound? If so, how do you do it on the p4?
@@kylinsimonchow A lot of times I turn it almost all the way down, or I just check the audio meter on camera to make sure it's around the safe zone. If you plan on only using the synced audio recorded in camera and not the actual recording on the Podtrak, you def need to adjust the output. You adjust it by adjusting the headphone output. It's a separate dial on the bottom. There's 4 headphone output controls too

Can you connect the P4 to a Mac as an audio interface for Garage Band - so you are recording the podcast directly into Garage Band? Thank you.
Hello! I use Amazon's Basics 3.5 mm Male to Male Stereo Audio Aux Cable. I usually try to set the volume on the camera to the lowest level but I don't do a bad job checking every time :(
Do you mean why the tracks are recorded on different tracks? I think some people prefer to mix the tracks themselves. But there is one file where all the tracks are already mixed in one track together.
Hello. I am interested in PodTrak P4. I want to ask you some things before purchasing. 1) My main setup is just one microphone and use the audio from my computer, so i will use the audio interface feature. I read that is not quaranteed that it will work with AMD processors. Will it work with mine processor? See attachment please. 2) As i am not a professional podcaster, i need the recorded file to be saved as an ''One File Recording''. I read that chanels are recorded separately and need editing after in order to create the final mix. Can't they also be recorded as ''One File'', without needing editing afterwards? Thank you. Stavros Tzathas. Athens, Greece.
Wait wait wait, so instead of sinking my audio recording from my zoom with the audio on my camera separately and post. I can just connect the microphone port from my camera directly to zoom Pak and it will record it to the file?
@@StephanieLin yeah, I bought a 3.5m TRS cable because of your video. I haven't tested it out yet I have a Sony a6400. I watched one video where they did this and he had to make some adjustments to his auto settings in the camera. Something about feedback or peak?
If you record it using the podtrak, then it should be on the memory card, which can be transfer to your computer. There are many ways to transfer from computer to your tablet or phone after that!
Great video Stephanie. I was inspired by your video and that's why I bought this, I have one issue though. the audio cable that goes directly into the camera makes a hissing sound while recording. Does that happen to you? the separate recording is great but when I connect to the camera with TRRS cable, it has too much hissing. how did you solve this if you did. Thanks
Hi! You know it actually happened to me before too! I'm really not sure what solved my problem. I thought it's a connection issue where the cable connects to the camera so I would make sure it's very tight, but I would always find out about the static sounds after I finished filming so I never had the chance to troubleshoot on the spot. Does it happen to you all the time and with different cameras? Have you tried a different TRRS cable? I haven't had the issue in a while
@@StephanieLin hey thanks for faster reply. I only have 1 camera, canon m50 mark 2. I ordered regular aux cable to see the difference as I had only TRRS cable and not TRS. So will try with TRS and see tomorrow. Can you please recall how you solved the issue?

I connected the Zoom P4 to the computer but no sound from the headphones? I can hear my own voice but no sound from videos I open from youtube? I'm sure I have the sound settings right, I can't hear my friend in Discord, but I can listen to my own voice.
I'm not familiar with that camera but from my quick search, it sounds like the Sony RX 100 V does not have a mic input! That means you won't be able to connect the podtrak to the camera. The only thing you can do is probably sync the audio recorded separately in post-production!

We ran 3xlr mics into the P4 and I went UA-cam live (mobile) and all mics worked great as the sound input for the stream! USB C to USB C. No setup - it automatically does it on its own. I felt a little wrong afterwards because I didn't buy it from the music store because they didn't price match so I got it 50 bucks cheaper on reverb.com as a B-STOCK item. I used Samsung galaxy s20 fe android to do the UA-cam live stream. Thanks again! - Reef of the East on UA-cam
Awesome!! The podtrak is full of pleasant surprises 😌 I’m sure you helped solve a lot of people’s question too 😂😂 thanks for sharing!!!
@@StephanieLin haha for sure! Blessings 💯 - Reef of the East on UA-cam
Hi! Regards from México, i want to know ... Can i use the 4 channels of the Podtrak for go live in Facebook with my phone?
Hmmm... are you thinking about using a XLR mic connected to the Podtrak to go live on Facebook or just recording your facebook live on the podtrak? 🤔💭
Anyways! I was able to test using a Rode mic connected to the podtrak, and then connect iphone to the podtrak to use that mic to go live on FB. It worked. Just have to make sure you have the right cable!
@@StephanieLin I want to use 4 xlr mics in the podtrack for to send the audio to my phone and go live in Facebook ... I have de trs to trrs cable ...
then it should work! :) I tested only 1 xlr but i think it would be the same with 4!
@@StephanieLin Iam thinking to buy it ... but i want to know ... can you try to proof?
Nice video👌🏻👏🏻.
I have 3 doubts.
a. Is the 🎙️ ⚡ symbol for phantom power?
b. How do you power the zoom when you are using for camera only. (I'm looking to upgrade audio for my canon 200D).
c. I see you connect zoom 🎧 out as input to camera. So only one mic is usable?
a. Yes it is!
b. The zoom is powered by 2 AA batteries
c. The headphone output includes all 4 tracks so it should be recording all mics connected to the Zoom 🤔
Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@lukogs You can hear other people too! :) So you hear yourself + any other audio input. It would make podcasting together impossible if we can't 🤣
But using this as an input to the camera means you will only have 1 track (a combined track). The Zoom recording itself will still have separate tracks.
Thank you for this video! What SD Card are you using?!! 🩷
I’m just using an old sandisk SD that I had laying around.. a small capacity one. The files are small!
Hi ma'am, Can I Record poetry on this microphone?
You sure can 😆!
Thank you!
Also, I usually have to adjust the mic volume on the camera too
@@StephanieLin what mic volume on your camera do you usually choose?
Thank you.
Can you show me how i use it to get all audio at wedding. which cable i should buy
Thanks for the review. Which cable do you use to record the audio straight into your R6? And which volume do you set the camera to?
Hello! I use Amazon's Basics 3.5 mm Male to Male Stereo Audio Aux Cable. I usually try to set the volume on the camera to the lowest level but I don't do a bad job checking every time :(
Does anyone know if I can record dj sets with this?
Is there a specific reason why specific according on that are done on specific tracks?
Do you mean why the tracks are recorded on different tracks? I think some people prefer to mix the tracks themselves. But there is one file where all the tracks are already mixed in one track together.
I know this is a old video but it's super helpful thank you for your time and effort making this!
Thank you!! :D
Unique way of review love your shy personality ❤
EXCELLENT review!!! I just saw this and was struggling with the price of the H6 and H8. This P4 seems like a great option! Great content creating!!
Yay!! So good to hear. Thank you!!😄
Hi! I am not knowledgeable enough for your first question.
But for your second question, there is a file with all tracks mixed already :)
Wait wait wait, so instead of sinking my audio recording from my zoom with the audio on my camera separately and post.
I can just connect the microphone port from my camera directly to zoom Pak and it will record it to the file?
Yes!!
@@StephanieLin thank you! Do you use a headphone jack port or some type of adapter?🤔
I use a TRS cable connecting the headphone jack port on the podtrak to the mic port on the camera! Does this make sense?
@@StephanieLin yeah, I bought a 3.5m TRS cable because of your video. I haven't tested it out yet I have a Sony a6400. I watched one video where they did this and he had to make some adjustments to his auto settings in the camera. Something about feedback or peak?
Hi nice review, one question for you. Will podtrak accept line level signal?
Sorry I do not know the answer to your question! Hopefully someone else can answer :)
Thanks for the Review!
nice, short, to the point, great job. I will send any beginners I meet your way. Top work.
oh, and one quick question, if you are using the podtrack as an audio backup, how do you deal with 44.1/48 challenge.
Had to sub 😁
Have you had trouble with a hiss when using the P4? I
I think I started hearing "hiss" at some point & not sure what caused it. But I was able to solve it by muting mics that were not in used!
How do you transfer the audio you recorded to your phone or computer or even tablet?
@@ImmigrantLife No slution there. Heaphone amp is budget rating. I stopped using P4 for that purpose and got RodeGOII instead. All clean now. No hiss.
@@ImmigrantLife have you solved your issue? i know this is a late reply but pls make sure the cable you get has TRRS on both ends. Røde makes pretty good cables and is shielded better from interference thus reducing unwanted noise. Get the Røde SC9 cable.
Could I use this to record directly into a phone,
Like if I were recording a voice Recording?
Would I be able to USB c to USB the set up or will I need that tssr cable?
Yes you can! If you want to use XLR mic to record on the iphone, you'll need the trrs cable.
@@StephanieLin what about with a pixel, do you know I can use a USB c to USB c cable
what type of cable do you use when you are connecting the podtrack p4 to the camera? is it the trrs to trrs cable or trrs to trs cable ? please be specific?
I've been using a TRS to TRS cable!
@@StephanieLin does anything change here since I have an iPhone 15 Pro? I can’t use lightning it’s USB type C so
basically I would like to use a XLR mic for audio and my iPhone camera for video with the pod track P4 as the audio interface. And do the editing on my MacBook. Is this possible?
Can you make music with it?
Only for recording not to actually make music
Thanks for the video. What kind of cable are you using to connect the Podtrak to your camera?
Hello! I use the Amazon Basic 3.5 mm Male to Male Stereo Audio Aux Cable.
❤saludos compre este zoom gracias a ti por tu explicación, saludos desde mexico , monterrey, n.l.
I connected the Zoom P4 to the computer but no sound from the headphones? I can hear my own voice but no sound from videos I open from youtube? I'm sure I have the sound settings right, I can't hear my friend in Discord, but I can listen to my own voice.
Is your headphone connected to the Podtrak or the computer? It'll have to be connected to the computer
@@StephanieLin It depends on P4. Can I use it as a sound card?
Great content! At 1:13 you talk about using the mic as an input for audio. What type of cable would I need to do this with a Sony RX 100 V?
I'm not familiar with that camera but from my quick search, it sounds like the Sony RX 100 V does not have a mic input! That means you won't be able to connect the podtrak to the camera. The only thing you can do is probably sync the audio recorded separately in post-production!
@@StephanieLin thank you for the insight!
What camera are you using?
The Canon R6!
This helped me a lot. Thank you, Stephanie. I subscribed :)
Glad it was helpful!! :D
Just picked up one myself. Can't wait for it to be delivered.
P 4 音质很差,不如zoom 其他录音机,这也是因为价格低的原因
as a podcast recoder is good enough to use. the good point is preamp is lounder than higher product.
You rmic sounds fantastic!
excellent video, thanks Stephanie!
Nice Video ! Thanks Stephanie
Excellent, Thanks
Do you have any issues with syncing audio and video during post production?
No i do not! And I don't really have to do the sync post-recording anymore.
The voice is so clear
