Medieval Seaside Market is a beautiful set that any LEGO castle fan would be thrilled to add to their collection. Aside from a few shaky moments during the early stages of the build and the fact that it takes up so much space, it's hard to fault any part of the set.
The only real downside is the fact that this set is available in such small quantities that most fans will be disappointed, left unable to purchase it unless they jump on the pre-order website the moment the set goes up for crowdfunding.
The BrickLink Designer Program is consistently delivering some of the most exciting, interesting and unique LEGO sets in the current LEGO catalogue, but it's clear that the LEGO Group has underestimated just how popular these sets were going to be. It's perhaps time that the team over at BrickLink were allocated greater resources to be able to expand their excellent work and make sets like Medieval Seaside Market available to more eager LEGO fans.
C’mon man, you have to do more than just show one view and digital pics. If it’s so modular why don’t you rearrange it to show us all its modularity? What’s the play value like if you were a kid? What does it look like next to other prominent castle sets? Have fun with it. Sorry if it’s harsh, I’d just like to see a quality showing my guy. Cheers
Two siege sets and the seaside market! 90 minutes in and these two sets are almost sold out. Thankyou for talking me into buying the market! Love your channel!
Thank you so much for your honest review! I agree with every word you said about how the program works in regards with the fan designer interaction with the model and the Bricklink team. Also designing in studio can be challenging as you said. I had built this in real bricks at some point but then with the tweaks here and there what was sturdy once can be more unstable later... Apologies for the anxiety inducing sections! hahah
Thanks very much for the set, it's really great! Please don't think that the building anxiety is your fault, as I said it wasn't a huge problem and it's definitely worth it to have the set as it's such a beautiful castle! Good luck with the crowdfunding, you've done such a great job and you deserve all the positive messages that are going to come your way!
Thankyou so much for doing the alternative moc. That is truly going above and beyond and gets me properly excited about building your set twice!
It makes it feel like much better value for a set, than one that is just built, and then sits there with forever unexplored different possibilities.
Congrats on getting your set approved and made! One question that's been on my mind since I first saw the design: why is there a crab on a spider web? Is it a gigantic spider crab?
@@AlbertoDsignprobably represents a fishnet of sorts
Congrats to all the buyers. I got the Train and the Siege. Unlike Seaside Market, which might have comparable versions in the future, Siege Encampment is a one-time, ultra-specialized set. The train will pair well with the upcoming Goldmine (same colors and theme) and the DeLorean. It's also the train that its designer envisaged (yes, looking at you, Orient Express).
While several of these tempt me, I'm gonna hold out for the Adventures in Transylvania set....depending on the price....
I would expect $400. It’s almost 4000 pieces mountain fortress was $380 and 200-300 parts away from 4000 pieces
speaking of price, yeah no thanks, rather cant wait to find LEGO in German and UK dumpsters as we (most of Europe) did for decades XD we cant afford these things it's otherwordly long as people casually trash items we can eventually experience them
not sure why people are obsessed with price to part ratio when often those parts are tiny and useless in the grand scheme of things
alternative cheaper toys then would cost 0,00000000000000001 penny per piece if I would bother to count / math stuff, blows LEGO out of proportion either way
@ oof. Thats what I’m afraid of.
FOMO is such a horrible business model.
I can only like this comment once, unfortunately.
To be fair, the FOMO is mostly manufactured, because there is nothing inherently unique about this set, and it could be pieced together without issue since all parts and minifigures are currently available on the PAB. And the instructions are free to download. Just an FYI for folks who cannot buy one today.
It’s not really FOMO imo the sets take multiple days to sell out and you have lots of time in advance to decide if you want them
Having only a few days is definitely fomo, ridiculous comment
@@leanderseiler some sets have up to 25 days you’re telling me the 6 or so months in advance you get to see the sets isn’t enough time for an adult to decide if they wanna buy? The only thing exclusive about the sets are the box and stickers the instructions are free and you can buy the pieces
I always go back and forth on getting these sets or not. I appreciate the review because it helped me decide to pull the trigger on a few of them.
As expected, the Medieval Seaside Market has sold out and the Siege Encampment is on the verge. I really like that the Siege Encampment includes Black Falcon and Lion Knight elements - a brilliant addition for storytelling.
The 'I hope this stays together' problem mentioned around 8:00 is definitely one of its charms for me (as long as it's sturdy afterwards). The set that got me back into LEGO ages ago, the Imperial Flagship, had that exact problem. So in a way this takes me back to when LEGO was starting it's push for more adult sets. This being yet another chapter in that push makes sense.
BDP sets are always the LEGO sets that interest me the most. I don't care for licensed sets, and I love the classic inspired themes. My dream is that one of my entries is selected to be a set in the future.
For the love of god, LEGO just needs to read the room and launch a full traditional Castle/Fantasy theme or aligned theme (like D&D or LotR). I don’t know why we have to keep doing this dance over the last few years. As the Wolfpack Beastmaster & Dragon Paladin price, alongside the BDP castle popularity, the Castle/Fantasy aligned 3 in 1 sets, aftermarket sales prices, everything. There’s clear signs there - if needs must test it with a Lego store exclusive range of 2-3 smaller sets. They’re actively making being a fan more frustrating at the moment.
It's almost as if they do not want the Castle theme to thrive, for whatever reasons.
The fact is adults wouldn't be the target audience for a regular castle line, and kids are just not into it. Why can't you just be happy with what we're getting? Enjoy it now, because the castle fad will wear off in time, and people will stop voting for them on Bricklink. People will be like, another castle?
I agree that Castle/Fantasy fans are a niche market, but the fact is that we’re becoming a problem - we’re causing problems for the CMF line and BDP. I also think/know that if they put out a Lego store exclusive $20 army builder set, it would be the fastest selling set of all time, so whilst we’re a niche we’re a big one. The reason I can’t be happy with what’s on offer is because it’s actively making being a fan more frustrating - I don’t want to cause other CMF collectors problems, I don’t rely on having £400 available during the 4 hours the BDP Castle sets aren’t sold out in the BDP to enjoy & support Lego.
I only found out about brick link and the designer program in the the last few months. This is the first series I was able to crowd fund and I got both the siege encampment and seaside market. I'm guessing most people did the same because both sets sold out at about the same time, in like 5 or less hours. Meanwhile, all the other sets are still available.
Congrats on getting one of these to preview!!
I waited four hours to buy these. Shocked that siege encampment and this set were almost sold out. Lucky to have gotten both.
I pieced together the castle in the forest, and I absolutely love that castle, but it definitely had some of those sketchy/scary sections during the build. Especially at the base, because it’s meant to have the river passing under it so you have a bunch of spindly parts slowly connecting together after you get about 4 bricks high. Once it’s all done, it’s plenty sturdy, but easy to break during the building process.
I also have the mountain fortress from series 1 but haven’t built it yet, so I’m not sure if it’s the same way.
Mountain Fortress is stable.
Agreed. Mountain Fortress is very stable and I loved the building process.
I pieced together the castle in the forest from the 3in 1 medieval castle, partly unstable but with a few tweeks and a few additional parts it turned out great even parted together the minifigures.
Mountain is stable but building the base is a pain in the a.s.
Even if i think it is the best castle ever.
Got the Siege Encampment, very excited for it! Wasn’t really sold on this one, I think it’s interesting, and if it’s your first castle I think it’s great, just wasn’t for me!
There is always the choice of getting the digital instructions and getting the parts later😊
But that makes it even more expensive right? :(
@@darkroy610 Yes, but possibly cheaper than the prices on the secondary market. It’s a viable option for this set because it has no stickers.
@@falconshaun Real problem is not only the pieces but the shipping costs.
Cause it's almost impossible to get one or two shops who get everything.
So i dunno how much sellers you need if you are lucky enough.
Always a castle dominating the bricklink designer program, and always a castle figure dominating CMFs... when will Lego take the hint?!
I wonder if this BLDP is an experiment to see what happens when there are two castle sets available.
Well maybe Lego thinks that the limited availability of castle stuff is what makes this so popular. But I dont get it either
Both Castle Sets are sold out now 3,5 hours in
The limited availability is part of why people buy these. If they were regular sets, they wouldn't sell as well, would be discounted, etc...
@@studebricker2845 I think so too. And the aftermarket gets flooded with these (but with higher prices still)
@@darkroy610 It's fine because in the future, some new collectors will want sold out Bricklink sets. Resellers take a risk and provide a service. They deserve to make a profit.
I was able to preorder this Seaside Market this morning. I also preordered the Riverside Scholars set (which I agree with you, is my favorite of this series).
I have recently bought Medieval Town Square and Lion Knights Castle and they are waiting to be built when this set arrives. Also, I need to invest in new shelves 😅
and it quite nice that LEGO gives you insiders points too with Bricklink sets
I think the popular sets could sell 50k copies.
This set looks amazing. But funds are limited so I’ve only grabbed the Train.
I’m already saving for series 5. That’s going to be a huge outlay for me.
What you gonna buy in serie 5 ?
@ Tortuga, Popcorn, and Transylvania. That’s a lot of $$$$ for me. Luckily, I can probably live without anything from series 6 (even though the sets look great).
@@jimm244 I'm on the same boat less pop corn.
brilliantly explained. well done.
Well I just got my single set. Not greedy, letting someone have a chance of owning one.
Everyone already has a chance. You act like buying something online is some sort of hardship LOL
With limited amount and some people buying the maximum limit for selling on later, I'm just saying 😋
@@nickmooney7175 Don't forget the people who get around the limit 2, by getting their friends to buy extra sets for them and then paying them back later...
Thank you for a very interesting review. I managed to order Medieval Seaside Market which sold out as the first one from this series. In addition to it, I ordered Wild West Train and Siege Encampment x2 :)
Great work. I also bought two siege encampments and a MSM. The train is truly excellent - it’s objectively better than the MSM, in my view, but castle is my theme and I just couldn’t bring myself to buy a fourth set!
I managed to pre-order one - it sold out after about four hours, along with the Siege Encampment set (also around four hours before it sold out - they were the first two to be sold out), the ordering process was much less glitchy this time thankfully!
I would recommend those that sell out hit the market a year later, for a 1 year shelf life.
If they become regular sets, fewer people will buy them. Like it or not, the scarcity is a factor in people's decision to buy or not.
@@studebricker2845 I disagree, put them on the market for 2 years and they would sell more copies.
Retirement present that fear of missing out already. I don't have a ucs at at because of the high purchase numbers right at retirement.
Special sets will sell no matter the framework, and they will sell more if more opportunities are available.
@@cjp1599 Not as Bricklink sets, they wouldn't. Most people don't even know what BL is. Also, most people do not want sets with no paper instructions. Bricklink sets are a niche product.
And what are you saying about the AT-AT? You couldn't buy one at retirement because too many people did? What? It was posted everywhere the AT-AT was retiring, so it's your own fault if you waited too long...
This review is spectacular! So informative, entirely unbiased, and supremely enjoyable! Thank you!
Great video - thanks. got me to buy this one!
I kinda do like the fact that only 30.000 people have the set makes it more unique
Ordered mine yesterday with an insiders £18 discount, within an hour it was sold out along with the siege camp. Good point about the siege camp being MOCED into a joust set.
I have a few Kallax's I use to display Lego, but they're not totally complete - I removed some of the central portions to make longer display boxes essentially. they don't look quite as clean with the added holes, but it does the job it needs to to give things more room to lay out and properly display themselves. Wouldn't reccomend it for the more wider stuff and taller stuff, however, and not on any module that is 2x2 or more
.
Got my order in, phew! If I'd left it till I get home, I bet some will have sold out.
Will try to buy it at 4pm. I have 6 months to save up for this which I like.
By 4pm they most popular ones will all be sold out.
@@TonyMontanaDS4 pm is when they go live for the UK ;)
Great commentary as usual, but this video would have been so much more helpful if released a day or more sooner. I went looking to learn more about this set and only you and another youtuber seem to have one to showcase. ~ Luckily I caved and bought one anyway, so I'm glad I did! :)
Could I just ask what the stud dimensions are for the standard formation! Just so I can slot it into my works!
tbh I find this set super lackluster - not to mention all those panel pieces. each their own i guess
bought one this morning cant wait to get it
I'm going to build a few of the siege set builds and call it a day. Catapult and siege tower.
Definitely getting this! And maybe even two copies, since there are so many alternative builds also by the creator. Funnily enough, my favourite design is also the Riverside Scholars, which I'm looking forward to buy as well. Glad I still have some time to come up with the money...😬
Thank you for your videos
Medieval as a whole deserves better. We deserve a proper theme with different sized sets, especially affordable ones and battle packs. But instead you have to spend hundreds because the sets are so expensive, compete against scalpers if you want a cmf and deal with FOMO on the BDP and promos. Lego is to blame for this, they know 100% how popular the castle theme is, they just choose to make it so exclusive because of greed.
Got one of these on order.
Awwww, no straw hat again! Heh, the rant about teh Kallax.
There is no reason why Lego can't run Bricklink series for a month and just make the amount that's ordered.
Bought both Seaside Market and Seige Encampment. Waiting on Forest Stronghold to ship next month.
That ships next month? Sweet
They have changed the Bricklink program. It use to be just 3,000 being made max but now it is 30k max. I like it that way, makes them feel more special (IMHO).
The new SleeplessNight Design for Series 7 is AWESOME!!!!
ua-cam.com/video/1JhKKehYNfY/v-deo.html
Calm down, it's not that great. He's done better...
It's a nice looking set, but with the cost of the wild west train and seige camp I just had to let it pass. If the inside area was a useable display area and not technically all water I might have been swayed.
The BrickLink Designer Program should change how they handle pre-orders to make it fairer for everyone. Instead of closing orders immediately after hitting 30,000, they should pause for the day, then reopen the next morning at 8 AM PT with 20,000 more sets. If those sell out, they should do one final round the next day with 10,000 more. This would give fans in different time zones a better chance, reduce scalping, and help LEGO better manage demand. It would make the program less stressful and more accessible. Remember, the sets only reach a new pre-order round if they sell out the previous day.
Or just allow unlimited orders for a 24 hour period.
That would be a major shift to double the number of sets they release.
Alternatively on the first round (say 24 hours ?) have it so you can only buy 1 copy. Would provide more time for people to buy the popular sets, as the scalpers/investors would have to wait to buy their second set.
If they did that, the result would be that fewer people would buy them. Part of the draw is the rarity. Otherwise, they are just regular Ideas sets.
Oh and just so you know, life isn't fair. Get used to that fact and you'll be less of a whiner going forward.
If the LEGO is testing us - the castle fans - we are going to pass the test. Both castle sets will be gone in matter of hours. Also KALLAX is not that bad if you customize it. Just rotate the vertical boards and put them in the back. Cut the sides remaining ones to create "columns" (there is wood on the sides to have something to put the stick in) and put the columns in the front row.
Dang it, you talked me into it. I got this and the siege encampment. Pricey but I know the price will shoot up $150 after the preorder is over.
Missed out on the bloody thing, got the Siege encampment as I already have the lion castle but damn if I wish I had the funds to get the seaside market as well
Can someone tell me when these sets are open to buy? because I open it and the 2 castle sets were already sold out? Can anyone tell me when in UTC this is?
They should add more farm animals like lambs, sheep, pigs, goats and cows to theses sets in general.
Seas side market sold out not even 4 hours after pre-orders
Medieval Seaside Market sold out within 3 hours.
Siege Encampment sold out within 4 hours.
I got 2 Siege Encampments, only.
I have no more need for medium stone grey brick, got plenty and finding all sorts of ways of using it for other than castle walls - dull…
i wonder why they didnt use black minifig hands to fit the fishies to the pole that one guy is carrying.
Is something up with the video or UA-cam? I keep getting "Something went wrong. Tap to retry" when I try to start the video.
Just got this and the Siege set.
this is a last minute review! =))
I quite like it, but I do prefer the Siege Camp. Still thinking if I should get 2 siege camps and one of these or just 1 of each.
This being said, just imagine LEGO would actually make 3 or so smaller sets that can combine together to make this larger seaside market? WOW, nobody could imagine that being a seller it seems .... or if lego would make sets like this ... that can be added to by an extra few pieces like the Rebrickable parts (those seem to be extra modules).
So ..... yeah.
Regarding the Riverside Scholar, it's a lovely set, but it can't compete with the sheer nostalgia the siege camp brings. Not sure if the modular seaside market brings nostalgia as much, but at least it is castle adjacent. I am sure if there were no castle as competition, those would sell much better (one has only so much loot one can spend on LEGO each 3 months).
Apparently I'm late to the game here again which is fine I have too many castles anyway I'm more interested in that river boat ideas set coming soon
got 2 of them 5 minutes after release
It’s sold out right now, the siege camp is near sold out
speaking of shelves, might be ugly but just get those tall metal adjustable shelves like the ones in storages of shops or whatever ... they are the cheapest and can carry lots of stuff so are not only adjustable but also open on all sides too
(I am broke but soon as I regain flexible finance I am replacing every furniture with those, I am not joking. Im fed up with bulky wooden tables shelves armoire etc fancy pants nonsense I want to actually display things and not look at furniture ...)
The Lion Knights Castle and Medieval town square both have sketchy portions in their building process. The LNK is full of them. It's a design decision that has to be made, and sometimes you can't achieve both a specific design and a sturdy building portion and have to decide between the two. Regardless, I hope there is more QA for these sets. Even the largest BDP set likely costs Lego sub-$50 net once it reaches store shelves and warehouses. With the margins on these sets, I expect better QA.
"The Lion Knights Castle [...] have sketchy portions in their building process" - 🤣😂
Well, you persuaded me within about 8 mins of the video that I would enjoy this. Sadly that was about 20:00 GMT and it had already sold out. (30000 units in under 4 hours). I'm not really a 'castle' fan, but this does look like more than a castle. However, as my 'top buy' was always going to be the wild west train, I've pre-ordered one of them. I would probably been torn between building and flogging this one (hopefully for a profit to offset other Lego purchases).
If there's something about BDP that frustrates me, it's the very short windows in which to interact, compared to what feel like really long lead times.
Pallet announced, wait 8 weeks, 11 days to submit designs. Wait 10 days, 11 days to vote on designs. Wait a little over 3 weeks before the finalists are announced then wait over 9 months before final versions of those designs are announced and then wait another 2 months before you can pre-order (for a few hours, days at best). Followed by a final 5 month wait before shipping starts... Over 18months from pallet to package, or 16 months from 'vote' to 'shipping', with only 3 to 4 weeks total where non-designers like myself can 'interact' in that process. It just seems like such a slow process.
I couldn't afford more sets per series, or more frequent series timescales - all the sets look too good to miss.
It has Modules but i see no reconfiguration.
... jp.... starting to kick in... 😶
I think if 30,000 sets sell out in 2hrs, lego should have a second round on those sets. Why not sell 60,000 Lego?
They need to raise the limits. Not add sets.
Considering you came out with this review a few hours before these sets were released and considering they sold out in hours. I can't help but think you could have helped more of your audience by releasing this review earlier as very few reviewers get these sets.
You mean you didn't know these sets were going on sale today??? They've only been finalists for months LOL
@studebricker2845 No, I bought this one before I saw this review. I was speaking to how lego provides these sets for review a week or so before release and the few creators who get them, usually two maybe three per set, get a review out a few days before launch to give their viewers an idea of whether they want to buy. This review came out a few hours before launch, so most (almost all) of the creators' viewers would not see it before they sold out. Just a shame for others, there are others who may not have seen the set outside of the promo photos and hoped to see it in a review or next to other castle sets
@@jonsix1928 Okay whatever, I don't buy sets based on some person's review.
@@studebricker2845 you make a cunning and compelling argument, especially skillful considering you have no clue what you are trying to say. Rage on 💪
What you called "smoothing out rough edges" by LEGO designers usually means getting rid of "illegal" bricks connections, unstable structures, unnecessary elements etc. There is a significant difference between designer and MOC builder.
This particular set is nothing special.
The biggest issue with the BDP is the price of the sets. Given you can only get 5% points off, instead of 20-30% discount plus cashback on most standard Lego sets after a short time, they are expensive. Which doesn’t feel completely justified when there are no new minifigures, moulds, printed pieces, or any licence fees to pay. No wonder Lego isn’t bringing out a new castle theme now it owns Bricklink. Unfortunately I can’t stop myself buying some as there is such a great range of lovely sets, and who doesn’t like more pirates, castle or fantasy 😀
Where's my history lesson????
The problem is these bricklink sets are really creeping up in price now and it is forcing a lot of us into painful decisions.
Both castle sets sold out in just a few hours. Hopefully this wakes Lego up a bit.
Great set! I managed to pick up two - hoping to build the rebrickable version too.
I also got 2 trains, siege encampment and merchant boat.
That's cool, and a lot of money xd
Lego needs a limit of 1 per person until at least the third day when it can be open for a second. People miss out due to the scalpers more than anything - these isn't much you can do with Mom, Dad, Aunts and Uncles buying to resell, but gatekeeping a bit to insure everyone who wants a model has the opportunity to get one is better than nothing...
Ridiculous idea. If you can't be bothered to remember, or to set an alarm for yourself, you don't really want the set that bad. You guys are such whiners...
@@studebricker2845 Are you serious? I don't know what you do for a living, but there are an awful lot of adult Lego collectors who have jobs that aren't in front of computers, who also aren't able to conveniently pull their phones out yet alone have a reliable internet connection. It has nothing to do with remembering or alarms. Crowdfunding always begins on a weekday, and popular designs sell out within hours. Once sold out, it usually takes less than a week to see 'backordered' models up for sale on Ebay at double the price, and once the sets are officially released, resale sites are flooded with them. Putting a 1 per person limit for the first few days would allow everyone who wants one an infinitely better chance of getting one and at the retails price, and the 'investors' would still have an opportunity to stock up with what's left.
@@studebricker2845 Out of curiosity based on your response... How many adult Lego collectors wanting a Brinklink model do you think miss out due to forgetting, or not setting an alarm, as opposed to crowdfunding beginning on a weekday and having to work jobs with no access to a computer, or not being able to use their phone? If the more desirable models sell out within 3 to 4 hours, there's zero chance someone working an 8 hour shift is going to get one right?
@@jeffc4862 I will answer your question with a question. How many people actually have jobs where they are not allowed to take a bathroom break? You're making this harder than it is, bud...
@@studebricker2845 Which brings us back to not being able to use their phone. My idea isn't making anything harder - quite the opposite - it would make it easier for build and display collectors to get what they'd like before seconds are made available for investors/retailers. I've read far too many comments over the years in Lego groups and youtube comment sections about unsecured internet connections, no signal in warehouses, factories, Hospitals, construction sites etc... and yes, there are a lot of jobs (mine included - live event production) where you can't just time a bathroom break. If they'd decide to open purchasing on a Saturday or sunday - I'd say fair game...
Well, I got the sea side market and the siege 🤩
I love it, I think I’ll get 2.
Well, I missed that.
The Asia Pacific region has always been poorly served by Lego. We get shafted a lot, in terms of availability, prices, or just being overlooked as a market.
This channel made vids about BDP Before this so... snooze u Loose! Along with plenty of other channels!
I got the siege encampment for m birthday :)
Seaside Market first to sell out
I ordered a castle based off the designer, it looked good but the build was very fragile. Hopefully this isn't the case here
dammit, I did go back to order this one also 😂 both castle sets on the way and almost sold out 😳
I got this one 😋
RIP: I woke up this mornign and it was sold out. Should have set my alarm for 3:00am :(
If you really want something - yes .. that's what I did.
I don’t really know if I want this. I kind of do, but it’s expensive and there’s other genuine (mass market) Lego sets I want instead
And just like that, it's sold out! 3.5 hours...
Honestly, the more the designer program goes on, the more I kind of hate it. There's way too limited of a timeframe to even have a shot at getting one of an already limited amount of sets. After that, you're shit out luck unless you want to pay exuberant prices to an "investor" (scalper) on the aftermarket
I just accidentally overslept by an hour and all of the sets are still no more than about halfway sold out. As long as you're within the first few HOURS of the set time, you'll be able to secure your order. This is not the case with many other limited drop items across other types of hobbies/collectibles that sell out near-instantly.
BLDP is "limited" but imo its really just asking the real fans to prove their enthusiasm by showing up at an early time to place an order for something we won't see for 6 months. Across 7 series I never once have been unable to place an order for any given set, no matter how hyped it is.
After market prices aren't as astronomical as you're suggesting either. The mountain windmill is still $200 and the mountain fortress is around $450 instead of its original $380. Slight increases but nothing astronomical because there are no unique pieces or minifigures in these sets.
I'm sorry but just everything about your comment was entirely incorrect so it inclined me to reply.
I secured two copies
Come on Lego bring back a proper castle theme with smaller affordable sets for kids (small and Large) stop teasing us with bricklink and CMFs.
Got it ordered, but was charged right away this year. 🤷♂️
This video doesn't matter - it's sold out in 3.5 hours 😉
I love the idea of the Kallax, but every single thing I could ever think to use one for is better served by any other kind of shelf.
But on topic, I hope Lego reconsiders how the program works given how popular it is. There's no real reason for these sets to be so very limited, and it isn't like Lego is a small company lacking in capital.
🤔 series 4 is a bit disappointing in my opinion, feels and looks not that spectaculair (and bit too pricy). Train looks best overall. I am a medieval castle fan yet these are not it. Save my money and wait for series 5, all good ones there!
Disappointing? This is the best series so far.
@@TonyMontanaDS The first series was better.
I kind of agree but I also have huge fomo with these sets.
I think I will be buying the 3 strong ones and then decide whether of not to pay when it comes time to ship.
@@cjp1599 If you don't intend to pay don't pre-order. You're just going to take a set away from someone else. That honestly makes me even more mad than scalpers because DP sets that are unpaid for never make it to market leaving it even more scarce.
Totally agree. Was planning to buy Seige Encampment and Seaside Market but I bought the Wild West Train instead. Waiting for Forest Stronghold to come and Tortuga and Wolf's Den..
*just ordered this one and the encampment...*
Congrats to the designer, its great and he did an excellent job making something everyone will want. BUT...The pricing on this set is such a MASSIVE fomo driven markup vs the value it actually offers, its now forcing me to unhappily contemplate the previous unthinkable morally ambiguous aliexpress version that no doubt will appear. The profiteering off castle theme is becoming a bit of a un-funny joke, and one I'm not happy to be bled dry for. Looking at pieces used, even £50 cheaper would be only average value for a non-licenced set.
(Also just to add insult to injury, I'm not happy with the 380 piece inflation vs the original submission to justify the pricing, just by adding little of value and very small uninteresting pieces (looking at you awkward proportioned boat and unrequired tree that makes the defensive wall completely redundant!))
Just get Vittsjo shelves instead of Kallax.
