Crafting Relic tools are known as this: ARR - Luminary Tools/Mastercraft Tools - these are rewarded for doing all of the “Craft/Gather X Times” achievements up to level 50. Heavensward and Stormblood - Blessed Tools are achievement rewards for completing entries in the Crafting Logs, Fishing Logs, and Gathering Logs. The HW tools are Lv.60 (IL 200) and the SB tools are Lv.70 (IL 350). Shadowbringers - Skysteel Tools and Resplendent Tools Endwalker - Splendorous Tools ...But we all know the supreme Crafter/Gatherer Achievement is Pteranodon - Earn 500,000 points toward your skyward score as every Disciple of the Hand and Land.

Universalis information is crowdsourced, the biggest problem with using it is that every once in a while, you'll look up a niche item with buy/sell prices up to days ago. As well as prices reportsc fluctuating on high demand items, i.e. new map glams.
Something to note is that Ishgardian restoration achievements (500k points and 100 tier 2/3/4) get you about 500-600 completions for the level 80 bracket, and the ShB/EW relics get you another 100-200 for their respective brackets.
One thing to note about the mass craft achievements; quick synth speed is affected by your FPS. So if you do it with your afk frame-limiter enabled, or on a low FPS monitor, it takes quite a bit longer. Small scale it doesn't matter, but when aiming for thousands of crafts, a 144+ monitor can save you hours in the long run.
Depends on which profession you went with. On Gilgamesh, I wasn't even far out of the top 10 for CRP or something at any given time. Got Beata award twice but I looked at the point figures and totally could've grinded to top 8ish.

As a crafter main (finishing my 10,000 HQ wvr recipes right now!) I loved this! A tip: Delicate synthesis is a great skill for low level crafts. It will often give you full quality and progress in just 1 step! (instead of trained eye+basic) I've used it up to lvl 40 recipes, but that could depend on your level/gear
@24:00 "I don't know why those don't count" The only entries that count for the "craft X unique items" achievements are leveling recipes and housing items. Basically if there isn't a check mark there after you crafted it, it doesn't count.
When you started this series, I started working on the crafting achievements. I'm currently working on completing the crafting log & using the crafting steps in-between to help with the bulk achievements. So far I've completed the crafting log 1-50 on each job, but then I realized housing items also counted towards completion...

11:05 The reason why prices are high on that data center is because often times, the market board is used as extra inventory space. Doesn't stop people from paying that much if they want, but there's less incentive to buy when prices are that high.
Plus that's how RMT people complete their trades. You make something basic, then sell it for several mill (howver much gil you bought) and the trader buys the item with their fresh farmed gil.
If you ever see the auto translate "Mare Lamentorum" in someone's adventurer plate, it's a sneaky way to say they have cosmetic mods on and they're using Mare, a tool that synchronizes your mods with other Mare users so that they can see what you REALLY look like. Now you know.
I went to Dynamis once, made a new character just because, and it seemed pretty well populated at the time. Though there was also a bunch of Roe-bots standing in formation near the market board. Half were in tuxedos, the rest were in speedos. They all had names like "Lala Puncher" or "Weeb Killer" or whatever. It was so weird that i logged off and deleted that character. Learned later that apparently it was some guy who thought some people were playing the game wrong and would harass them in chat.
That dude is still around. He invaded Sargatanas Gridiana for a few weeks back in January. Before that he was in Limsa. I don't know why he hasn't been banned yet. He's an utter nuisance.
They were on Famfrit for weeks and would purposely place their AFK models on top of other AFK players. It was a nuisance but not a big deal until they placed 50+ AFK Roes, causing frame drop and preventing NPCs from loading in unless you were directly on top of them. They finally left after someone made a wildly inappropriate "I'm looking to get banned" type of tirade in shout chat making unfounded allegations against SqEx staff and praising the Weeb CIA.
I've been on a crafting spree myself! Since last week's video, I have conquered Memoria Misera EX for the first time (10 points), mapped the Lunar Subterrane (10 points), completed the 6.5 storyline (20 points), completed the 6.55 storyline (20 points), completed Tataru's Grand Endeavor questline (10 points), completed my 200th guildhest (20 points), participated in my 1000th Frontline match (20 points), completed the final step of the Mandervillous relic weapon for red mage (10 points), defeated Titania EX for the first time (10 points), and... a plethora of crafting achievements: Crafting 3000 times between levels 41 and 50 for CUL (10 points), thus unlocking the achievement for completing all the "craft x times between levels x and y" from levels 1 to 50 for CUL (30 points) which I was working on last week, crafting 1000 times between levels 51 and 60 for CUL (10 points), crafting 1000 times between levels 61 and 70 for CUL (10 points), crafting 1000 times between levels 71 and 80 for CUL (10 points), crafting 1000 times between levels 81 and 90 for CUL (10 points), crafting 50 times between levels 1 and 10 for ARM (5 points), crafting 300 times between levels 11 and 20 for ARM (5 points), crafting 750 times between levels 21 and 30 for ARM (5 points), crafting 1500 times between levels 31 and 40 for ARM (5 points), and finally, crafting 3000 times between levels 41 and 50 for ARM (10 points), thus unlocking the achievement for completing all the "craft x times between levels x and y" from 1 to 50 on ARM (30 points). All this crafting costed me roughly 10M gil, but I'll get a fair bit of that back over time as my stacks of flour and ingots sell. This week was worth a whopping 270 points for me! I now stand at 19,605 points (ingame) or 18,510 points (Lalachievements scoring system), and I have climbed to #67 on Adamantoise, gaining SIX ranks since last week. That's huge when in the top 100! Grind on, all you achievement hunters! Edit: A comment in regards to crafting recipes not counting for the log. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe only regular crafts and housing crafts count towards the log for achievements to craft x amount of different items per crafter job.
as a crafting main pro-tip, retainer ventures are your friend esp when doing achievements! they can gather anything and everything you've gathered except clusters or certain timed/ephemeral nodes so it's much more effective and cheaper to send retainers out for shards and crystals or for mats you know you're going to need but don't have time to gather yourself, including timed nodes that aren't up (retainers aren't restricted to the timer clock, they can gather a timed node once an hour regardless if it's up or not!) and save you a lot of time and money. I usually send mine out while I'm doing other content or while i'm gathering the stuff they can't gather so I can get multiple things done at once.
This video reminded me that I have almost sold all of my Growth Formula Deltas. I got the ALC achievement a very, *VERY* long time ago. I am just now down to 123 left to sell.

Magitek Repair Materials was my go-to for the 41-50 range for the crafters. Only two mats, one of which you could buy from vendors or GC seals, and a decent sell on the MB So, ironically, that range was far easier to do than the 31-40
To get a check mark for every single crafting recipe, I had to spend nearly 40 million gil to craft the Hakutaku Eye Cluster. I wasn't doing Eureka, and it was still current content at the time. It hurt.
I did this in the past month, and the price was "down" to "only" about 3.5 million. I was able to flip the Cluster for about 5 million, so I made a bit of profit on that - just had to make sure to undercut the entire NA market so that bargain hunters would come buy it. It's still insane that this is on the normal crafting log and not the master crafting log.
I plan on doing Eureka once I get to it, I'm at Stormblood now. If your on Aether, I can get you the stuff needed! It will be a while before I can, but I usually grab multiples of hard crafts for my irls so it wouldn't be super far out of my normal grinding.a@@StEvEy0wNaGe

at 17:50, you're looking at recipes that *use* Concentrated Spirits of Salt, not what makes it. To find the recipe that makes it you search in the top left of the Crafting Log instead.
I've debated saying anything for a while, thought maybe you'd like to know. I wanted to thank you for these weekly videos. My mother (who I'd been the caretaker of for over 7 years, who became effectively my entire world) died suddenly in October, about a month and a half before this series began. Your weekly videos have provided me with regular doses of much-needed humor and laughter at a time when overwhelming grief has been a constant shadow. I know it's not much, I'm just one random person you'll never meet IRL, but I thought i should tell you that your humor has made one person's life a little less painful. 5:34 - I commend the dedication to the bit for like a second, tops, of background audio that half the audience won't notice. I've done a fair bit of crafting log completion, though I haven't done the "synthesize nine thousand boolsheets" grinds for most classes yet. Money isn't a concern, because I hit gil cap off crafting in HW/SB when the barrier to entry was substantially higher (and thus competition was much lower)... but holy shit the strain on your inventory is rough when crafting a lot of different low-level stuff. (I actually really enjoy log completion though... I do it even after the achievements are done. Monkey brain likes checking things off.) 8:34 - "because I'm too lazy in most cases to gather the items myself" - that's good! People talk like farming everything yourself is "efficient" - but man, if you spend 15 minutes gathering a few hundred dirt cheap items in the world, when you could've just spent 8k to get them on the market board, there's nothing efficient about that! Unless you put zero value on your own time and effort, the MB often *is* the most efficient way to go. (Of course, some people just LIKE to get their own mats, which is fair.) 9:08 - man, I'm not going to complain about the hordes of naked people in Limsa any more. Seeing it that dead just looks wrong. 12:55 - maybe they should add femroes to universalis
tbf when people say "efficient" they usually mean "you can gather the exact number you need for free instead of buying multiple stacks for a high price and having leftover mats you dont need" which is a slightly different kettle of fish honestly and not quite the same thing. i personally just send my retainers out to get stuff for me while i'm gathering things they can't, or while i'm doing other content so that i can multitask and get multiple things done at once before sitting down and doing a bulk crafting session which i find to be more efficient in the long run for me specifically. ymmv obviously and sometimes hitting the mb is the more efficient way to do things.
@@kelb6762 Yeah usually this is it. Sure you'll get your craft done quicker, but it's the inventory space and retainer slot you're losing while you're trying to recoup some of the often exorbitant costs you paid for something it would have taken you less than 2 minutes to gather for free.
I just went and did every recipe in game ever once, and then saw what was left...took ages but im crazy. now im working on getting every fish...this takes even more. Good luck on the ocean fishing quest, you actually need a premade for some of those achievements

Since you're doing -all- of the achievements, you might want to keep in mind that you can use the Ishgard restoration expert crafts that you'll need to do ~500 of (for each crafter) to get a lot of progress on the 71-80 craft achievements.
This is a good start for the actual crafting grind: All the Ishgard Restoration achievements. Good luck! Also, if you dont gather the mats for all the achievements, this is one that's gonna cost you. On the bright side youll get a ton of scrips to make money.
Ok Cider, you've just changed my life with "hide completed recipes" and I've been playing this damn game since 1.0! I need to press more things just to see what they do.
For the level 41-50 crafter achievements, a consistent item I have personally crafted is Magitek Repair Materials! All crafters can craft it using the exact same two materials (just different crystals), and it's market tradeable. One of the items (Grade 6 Dark Matter) is vendor purchaseable via gil, GC currency, or even Wolf Marks, and the other isn't *terrible* to grind out.
The most expensive thing I did in FFXIV was pentamelding my crafting and gathering gear so as to be able to gather the mats from legendary nodes to craft the Riniscita gear. FFXIV is such a player-friendly, non-punishing game that I was really taken aback. Pentamelding is mandatory, but the failure rate is astonishingly high. I got as much materia as I could with scrips, but it still cost me around 11M gil to complete, which was nearly all I had after just a year of playing a lot. I got it back flogging the gear I made, but casuals have no chance.
Your videos have kinda inspired me to start working on achievements for fun! I've been chipping at the crafting ones first since I had already been doing stuff for that anyway :)
Specific crafting notes for Alchemist: 1. Orchestrion rolls do not count toward log completion because they're master recipes. 2. There are NOT enough level-based recipes in the normal 1-90 logs to complete "I Made That: Alchemist VI." 3. To complete the achievement, you need to make Ornaments (mostly corsages) which are found under Special Recipes > Other > Ornaments (1/2). You don't need to make ALL of the ornaments, but need to make about 70 of them. Stockpile Bear Fat and various waters, and shop around for the flowers to find the best deals - most are cheap, but some are randomly expensive.
Crafting the Alchemist Lv60 recipe Hakutaku Eye Cluster (for the proof) cost me upwards of 4 million for the five various (Type) Hakutaku Eye components. Since by Zeus there was no way I was going to even bother with the RNG layered on top of RNG that is happy bunny chests in Eureka.
Fun fact about the ARR relic tools, once you get one of them, you can get ALL of them from the Calamity Salvager. Since they're all linked to the same achievement and Calamity just checks achievements to know what you've unlocked, he assumes you have all of them. So if you wanted to use them for glams or whatever you can! My achievements for the week: - 100 unique Carpenter leves and 100 total tradecraft leves - 270 Triple Triad cards collected and 92 unique NPCs beaten - Level 80 Blue Mage, Paladin, and the achievements for omni-80 on all DoW and all combat jobs - Level 90 Fisher and the achievement for omni-90 gatherers - 400 unique fish caught - HW Sightseeing Log done (2 achievements - 500 total A-ranks killed - 150 Deliveries to Ehll Tou, finally time to move on to someone else

"Materiel" (with an E) refers to equipment and supplies for a military-type operation. "Materials" (with an A) are just generic stuff. That's why the two tabs in the GC.
I just combine the "Make items X times" and the "Make quality items X times" into one task, there's a specific action for crafting called delicate synthesis which allows you to craft an item every time with HQ. One button press.
I'm doing this on a self sufficient account (no marketboard, trading), and just gathering all the shards needed for the 41-50 crafts will take roughly 110 hours, if I'm focused, closer to 125 if I'm distracted. The bright side is that the gathering Luminary achievements are completely passive and are 100% efficient.
I don't even play FF14, but that patented Cider Spider voice and sense of humor made watching a 30-minute video about crafting items quite a bit of fun. Thanks for a series I look forward to watching every weekend.

Most amount I've spent was in fact on the crafting log because not only do you need to do the regular crafted items but you also need to do all the furniture, and all the flower stuff that alchemist makes. There's a lot of special furniture that needs materials from airships, submarines, Eureka, retainer ventures, tribe quests, maps, and most notably a whole lot of stuff from Coils. Because the Coils crafting items are classified as "monster drops" instead of regular loot it means you either have to do Coils synched or spend literal millions on marketboard. The Hakutaku eyes from Eureka are also stupidly expensive. Thankfully for HW onwards a lot of the more annoying stuff got moved to master recipes, so you don't need to worry about it. That's why those orchestra rolls didn't count, master recipes, tribe quests, ishgard restoration recipes, custom deliveries, dyes, side stuff like that doesn't get the check of completion so doesn't need to be done for achievements. Don't need to grind every extreme dozens of time for crafting materials.

An excellent qol features would be the ability to see where a given vendor actually *is* because a lot of these are in really stupid locations and if they're not going to consolidate them like they *should* into main city vendors they could at least make it clear if I gotta haul out to Southern Thanalan for something with a 50x mark-up on the market board.
I've been excited to see you start grinding the DOH/DOL achievements. The Diadem and Skybuilder ones. Woof. My friend is a Saint of the Firmament, got second place (first place was either botting or a multiple-people-using-one-account situation because they were online basically 24 hours a day), and the Pteranodon achievements were starting to break her lmao
@8:10 I don't recall exactly how much but a few million toward Eureka stuff, to get all the special Actions unlocked so I could begin making the Eureka armor.
I bought both of my FC's airships, that's about the most I've dunked in-game ever. About 800k per piece averaged out, so I spent a nice 6.4M gil. Thank goodness I'm going to make it back with all that Dusk Leather and Company Tabards/Company Hats! Maybe. I'm probably going to make more from grinding through Eureka to get three relic weapons lmao.
I like having a youtuber on Diabolos to watch. It's like having an irl streamer living in my neighborhood, except your content is actually good. Good luck with those grinds. I definitely couldn't do this all at once. I just do like 1 unique recipe a day, and then occasionally i'll grind out a whole level bracket for one job. I'll have that crafting log done in a few years lol.
This one came out at a funny time -- I have just finished leveling all of my crafters finally after taking too long to the get gil for doing so and have been working on diadem the last few weeks! These videos have been a great source of motivation to keep pushing on for those super long term grinds. Great videos as always Cinder!! Re: qotd - honestly crafter leveling is probably been my biggest achievement related expense there haha. it is about 1.2ish mil per crafter once you have all the gear for all of them ready so I think I have spent almost 10 mil now on that? I think I also spent about 5 mil on getting 9999 of every elemental shard / crystal / cluster at one point which was a dumb decision but I have too much gil lol. outside of big gil expenses -- shoutouts to anima weapons for being so painful on my poetics haha. also also Goblin local. I have no clue what it is called that. I just chose that server because it had a funny name and many thousand hours later I dont feel like leaving LOL
Carpenter and alchemist crafter log. After doing all the normal crafts I was left with the furntiure and I could not be arsed to gather any more mats. I also bought all the hakutaku eyes to craft the cluster. Cant remember how much they cost, but was a few mil.

Lucis tools my beloved... I did all of those back on the free trial in ARR, so had to gather/craft everything myself with arr level stats. Genuinely had a good time doing it! Also the ALC tool's an unfortunate pick but the Lucis tools are comically oversized, they're so much larger than others. Might not scale as well for a Lalafell tho... About the crafting log achievements, I worked on those at the same time I worked on the unique levequests achievements, so when I did a tier of a levequest, I also did that tier of crafting recipes, so I was focused on the same relative set of materials. I've got 6/8 of the crafting log achievements, but CRP and ALC don't have enough recipes in the regular crafting log to complete the achievements, you have to craft furniture too to get those. So I'm putting them off to see how many recipes Dawntrail gives to each. Oh yeah also expert recipes don't count for completion, which you clearly figured out. I recommend against doing the shb achievements the way you were, you'll get them by doing ishgard restoration achievements, skybuilder tools, and resplendant tools anyway. Similarly the endwalker ones from splenderous tools. I'm very stingy about spending money so I can't say I've spent much on achievements at all, I think I bought a bunch of logs to get a CRP crafting achievement at some point? Doesn't matter. Also personal achievement progress from this week, I cleared TEA! Wahoo!
I was totally waiting for Charity to start tackling the crafting wall and am not disappointed. Can't wait to one day see her on a tiny pterodactyl. And talk about a rare instance of no Tank Program on Ultros.
A little trick to make back the money you spend: Some crafters have materials that are worth a lot even at low levels because you need them for furniture or workshop other stuff all the time. For example: Mortar, Varnish, Cobalt ingots, Darksteel Nuggets, etc etc. Also, the furniture tab counts for the recipe log achievements. And thats another thing that potentially sell well.
IIRC the gil buyers care because botted gold is more likely to get them caught. They follow the gil out of an account when a bot gets banned, and if there's enough evidence, they can ban sellers and even buyers That is a more difficult process when for manually farmed gil
Fellow achievement hunter here ! Crafting does take a lot of time but auto-crafting it will take you even longer ! -76 800 crats from the thumbnail isnt exactly right since you have to craft 10 000 HQ items per crafters which means 80 000 crafts for all 8 of them at minimum. -"Craft x amount of time" is less painful if you combine it with "Crafting log" which can go up to 800/1000 for certain job/expansions if you count gatherings/crafting your own materials (Goldsmith works good in that way) -Working towards 10 000 HQ on one job is painful so it feels best to do it actively while doing the two other kind of achievement listed above, even after doing all of these with as much HQ possible (mats + the craft itself) can get you up to 9 000/10 000 and every non-HQ auto-craft done for "Craft x amount of time" will recquire you to come back later to craft again but HQ (usually the lvl 1 receipe thousands of times) - So that makes 80 000 in a perfect world but if we count relic tool stuffs and firmament we can easily add another 1 000 per job which leads to 88 000 not counting non-HQ crafts ! -Crating log doesnt count expert receipes (including orchestrion rolls) but it counts furnitures and most importantly the "other" tab which have the FLOWERS EQUIPMENT for ALC and there are hundreds of them, that's why there is 700 logs for ALC
12:00 where you talk about the AFK catgirls reminds me of my home server (Chaos, Spriggan) where we have a guy named Exotic Dancer who has all jobs maxed and has been doing nothing but Gold Dance in Old Gidania at the Shaded Bower for the entire 4 years that i have played the game. (besides probably catching up on MSQ?? idek) He never changes spots, never chats, is always AFK, has had the same glam ever since i first saw him. Absolute menace.
Some recipes don't count towards the "craft X amount of unique recipes", notably mastercraft recipes (such as the orchestrion rolls you crafted in this video). Look for the little check mark on the item icon in the crafting tab and if you see the check mark then you know that most items in this tab count towards that achievement. On top of my head I know levelling items and housing structures/furnishing are included.
You got me back to playing 14 by having me go after achievements. Today I Just crafted all of BSM's ARR items and turned in all of its ARR levequest so its pretty funny seeing you do crafting too. XD
I probably spent near 7 million to work through Eureka with the fragments/red coat/kirin gear. All for the relic, achievements, and the shiny armor for two dye channels
I'm planning to go for the 'Of The Golden Ladle' title by making Rolanberry Cheese. It's made with 1 rolanberry and 2 night milk. The night milk can be bought from the sahagin for 84 gil each while the rolanberry can be harvested with botany at lvl 45 nodes near Bronze Lake thus making it also useful for grinding out the lvl 41-50 botany achievement. Rolanberry Cheese can be turned in via levequests so it might also potentially earn profit in the end. The levequests themselves can reward you with fire shards so it would be best to craft the items in batches rather than doing all of them at once since the recipe needs fire shards.
Electrum Wristlets of Crafting. You need only one root input, the rings can be grabbed off the market cheaply, and if you desynth the results you get demimateria that sells relatively well on the market.
I've been slowly trying to get crafting achievements as well, and I know the answer to your question at 23:50 . Unique recipes only count if they're a leveling or a housing recipe. so lvling is all things in the leveling tab, and housing consists of all recipes under the housing tab in special recipes that doesn't have stars next to it. Some crafting jobs it's no big deal at all, and some jobs it's... ugh. Just to help you out in your crafting future! :)

Crafting Relic tools are known as this:
ARR - Luminary Tools/Mastercraft Tools - these are rewarded for doing all of the “Craft/Gather X Times” achievements up to level 50.
Heavensward and Stormblood - Blessed Tools are achievement rewards for completing entries in the Crafting Logs, Fishing Logs, and Gathering Logs. The HW tools are Lv.60 (IL 200) and the SB tools are Lv.70 (IL 350).
Shadowbringers - Skysteel Tools and Resplendent Tools
Endwalker - Splendorous Tools
...But we all know the supreme Crafter/Gatherer Achievement is Pteranodon - Earn 500,000 points toward your skyward score as every Disciple of the Hand and Land.

Universalis information is crowdsourced, the biggest problem with using it is that every once in a while, you'll look up a niche item with buy/sell prices up to days ago. As well as prices reportsc fluctuating on high demand items, i.e. new map glams.
Something to note is that Ishgardian restoration achievements (500k points and 100 tier 2/3/4) get you about 500-600 completions for the level 80 bracket, and the ShB/EW relics get you another 100-200 for their respective brackets.
One thing to note about the mass craft achievements; quick synth speed is affected by your FPS. So if you do it with your afk frame-limiter enabled, or on a low FPS monitor, it takes quite a bit longer. Small scale it doesn't matter, but when aiming for thousands of crafts, a 144+ monitor can save you hours in the long run.

Depends on which profession you went with. On Gilgamesh, I wasn't even far out of the top 10 for CRP or something at any given time. Got Beata award twice but I looked at the point figures and totally could've grinded to top 8ish.

As a crafter main (finishing my 10,000 HQ wvr recipes right now!) I loved this! A tip: Delicate synthesis is a great skill for low level crafts. It will often give you full quality and progress in just 1 step! (instead of trained eye+basic) I've used it up to lvl 40 recipes, but that could depend on your level/gear
@24:00 "I don't know why those don't count" The only entries that count for the "craft X unique items" achievements are leveling recipes and housing items. Basically if there isn't a check mark there after you crafted it, it doesn't count.
When you started this series, I started working on the crafting achievements. I'm currently working on completing the crafting log & using the crafting steps in-between to help with the bulk achievements. So far I've completed the crafting log 1-50 on each job, but then I realized housing items also counted towards completion...
And I was today years old when I discovered you could hide completed recipes. Thanks Cider Spider for being the most Chaddiest of Chads. Stay strong, and keep grindin'!

The reason why prices are high on that data center is because often times, the market board is used as extra inventory space. Doesn't stop people from paying that much if they want, but there's less incentive to buy when prices are that high.

They were on Famfrit for weeks and would purposely place their AFK models on top of other AFK players. It was a nuisance but not a big deal until they placed 50+ AFK Roes, causing frame drop and preventing NPCs from loading in unless you were directly on top of them. They finally left after someone made a wildly inappropriate "I'm looking to get banned" type of tirade in shout chat making unfounded allegations against SqEx staff and praising the Weeb CIA.

I've been on a crafting spree myself! Since last week's video, I have conquered Memoria Misera EX for the first time (10 points), mapped the Lunar Subterrane (10 points), completed the 6.5 storyline (20 points), completed the 6.55 storyline (20 points), completed Tataru's Grand Endeavor questline (10 points), completed my 200th guildhest (20 points), participated in my 1000th Frontline match (20 points), completed the final step of the Mandervillous relic weapon for red mage (10 points), defeated Titania EX for the first time (10 points), and... a plethora of crafting achievements:
Crafting 3000 times between levels 41 and 50 for CUL (10 points), thus unlocking the achievement for completing all the "craft x times between levels x and y" from levels 1 to 50 for CUL (30 points) which I was working on last week, crafting 1000 times between levels 51 and 60 for CUL (10 points), crafting 1000 times between levels 61 and 70 for CUL (10 points), crafting 1000 times between levels 71 and 80 for CUL (10 points), crafting 1000 times between levels 81 and 90 for CUL (10 points), crafting 50 times between levels 1 and 10 for ARM (5 points), crafting 300 times between levels 11 and 20 for ARM (5 points), crafting 750 times between levels 21 and 30 for ARM (5 points), crafting 1500 times between levels 31 and 40 for ARM (5 points), and finally, crafting 3000 times between levels 41 and 50 for ARM (10 points), thus unlocking the achievement for completing all the "craft x times between levels x and y" from 1 to 50 on ARM (30 points). All this crafting costed me roughly 10M gil, but I'll get a fair bit of that back over time as my stacks of flour and ingots sell.
This week was worth a whopping 270 points for me! I now stand at 19,605 points (ingame) or 18,510 points (Lalachievements scoring system), and I have climbed to #67 on Adamantoise, gaining SIX ranks since last week. That's huge when in the top 100! Grind on, all you achievement hunters!
Edit: A comment in regards to crafting recipes not counting for the log. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe only regular crafts and housing crafts count towards the log for achievements to craft x amount of different items per crafter job.
as a crafting main pro-tip, retainer ventures are your friend esp when doing achievements! they can gather anything and everything you've gathered except clusters or certain timed/ephemeral nodes so it's much more effective and cheaper to send retainers out for shards and crystals or for mats you know you're going to need but don't have time to gather yourself, including timed nodes that aren't up (retainers aren't restricted to the timer clock, they can gather a timed node once an hour regardless if it's up or not!) and save you a lot of time and money. I usually send mine out while I'm doing other content or while i'm gathering the stuff they can't gather so I can get multiple things done at once.
This video reminded me that I have almost sold all of my Growth Formula Deltas.

Magitek Repair Materials was my go-to for the 41-50 range for the crafters. Only two mats, one of which you could buy from vendors or GC seals, and a decent sell on the MB
So, ironically, that range was far easier to do than the 31-40
To get a check mark for every single crafting recipe, I had to spend nearly 40 million gil to craft the Hakutaku Eye Cluster. I wasn't doing Eureka, and it was still current content at the time. It hurt.
I'm still missing that one. I refuse to pay that much for a checkmark lmao. It's the only one i need for ALC.
I did this in the past month, and the price was "down" to "only" about 3.5 million. I was able to flip the Cluster for about 5 million, so I made a bit of profit on that - just had to make sure to undercut the entire NA market so that bargain hunters would come buy it. It's still insane that this is on the normal crafting log and not the master crafting log.
I plan on doing Eureka once I get to it, I'm at Stormblood now. If your on Aether, I can get you the stuff needed! It will be a while before I can, but I usually grab multiples of hard crafts for my irls so it wouldn't be super far out of my normal grinding.a@@StEvEy0wNaGe

at 17:50, you're looking at recipes that *use* Concentrated Spirits of Salt, not what makes it. To find the recipe that makes it you search in the top left of the Crafting Log instead.
Search by Crafting Method should do that too, things that use multiple stages of crafting can also be broken down with list raw materials

My mother (who I'd been the caretaker of for over 7 years, who became effectively my entire world) died suddenly in October, about a month and a half before this series began. I've done a fair bit of crafting log completion, though I haven't done the "synthesize nine thousand boolsheets" grinds for most classes yet. Money isn't a concern, because I hit gil cap off crafting in HW/SB when the barrier to entry was substantially higher (and thus competition was much lower)... but holy shit the strain on your inventory is rough when crafting a lot of different low-level stuff. (I actually really enjoy log completion though... I do it even after the achievements are done. Monkey brain likes checking things off.)
8:34 - "because I'm too lazy in most cases to gather the items myself" - that's good! People talk like farming everything yourself is "efficient" - but man, if you spend 15 minutes gathering a few hundred dirt cheap items in the world, when you could've just spent 8k to get them on the market board, there's nothing efficient about that! Unless you put zero value on your own time and effort, the MB often *is* the most efficient way to go. (Of course, some people just LIKE to get their own mats, which is fair.)

tbf when people say "efficient" they usually mean "you can gather the exact number you need for free instead of buying multiple stacks for a high price and having leftover mats you dont need" which is a slightly different kettle of fish honestly and not quite the same thing. i personally just send my retainers out to get stuff for me while i'm gathering things they can't, or while i'm doing other content so that i can multitask and get multiple things done at once before sitting down and doing a bulk crafting session which i find to be more efficient in the long run for me specifically. ymmv obviously and sometimes hitting the mb is the more efficient way to do things.
@@kelb6762 Yeah usually this is it. Sure you'll get your craft done quicker, but it's the inventory space and retainer slot you're losing while you're trying to recoup some of the often exorbitant costs you paid for something it would have taken you less than 2 minutes to gather for free.

Since you're doing -all- of the achievements, you might want to keep in mind that you can use the Ishgard restoration expert crafts that you'll need to do ~500 of (for each crafter) to get a lot of progress on the 71-80 craft achievements.
This is a good start for the actual crafting grind: All the Ishgard Restoration achievements. Good luck! Also, if you dont gather the mats for all the achievements, this is one that's gonna cost you. On the bright side youll get a ton of scrips to make money.
Ok Cider, you've just changed my life with "hide completed recipes" and I've been playing this damn game since 1.0! I need to press more things just to see what they do.
For the level 41-50 crafter achievements, a consistent item I have personally crafted is Magitek Repair Materials! All crafters can craft it using the exact same two materials (just different crystals), and it's market tradeable. One of the items (Grade 6 Dark Matter) is vendor purchaseable via gil, GC currency, or even Wolf Marks, and the other isn't *terrible* to grind out.
It's my favorite video series to watch at the end of the week!

As someone that's also working through crafting achievements, yeah, it was probably one of those that were the most expensive for me too
The most expensive thing I did in FFXIV was pentamelding my crafting and gathering gear so as to be able to gather the mats from legendary nodes to craft the Riniscita gear.
FFXIV is such a player-friendly, non-punishing game that I was really taken aback. Pentamelding is mandatory, but the failure rate is astonishingly high. I got as much materia as I could with scrips, but it still cost me around 11M gil to complete, which was nearly all I had after just a year of playing a lot. I got it back flogging the gear I made, but casuals have no chance.
You have one of the most unique and baffling UI setups I've ever seen and I just want to say I'm impressed.
Your videos have kinda inspired me to start working on achievements for fun! I've been chipping at the crafting ones first since I had already been doing stuff for that anyway :)
I’m still pretty new, so the most I’ve spent towards an achievement would have to be around 100k gil towards the ARR base relics
Specific crafting notes for Alchemist:
1. Orchestrion rolls do not count toward log completion because they're master recipes.
2. There are NOT enough level-based recipes in the normal 1-90 logs to complete "I Made That: Alchemist VI."
3. To complete the achievement, you need to make Ornaments (mostly corsages) which are found under Special Recipes > Other > Ornaments (1/2). You don't need to make ALL of the ornaments, but need to make about 70 of them. Stockpile Bear Fat and various waters, and shop around for the flowers to find the best deals - most are cheap, but some are randomly expensive.
Crafting the Alchemist Lv60 recipe Hakutaku Eye Cluster (for the proof) cost me upwards of 4 million for the five various (Type) Hakutaku Eye components. Since by Zeus there was no way I was going to even bother with the RNG layered on top of RNG that is happy bunny chests in Eureka.
As someone who makes a large portion of my money selling shards, I salute you and others like you.
Fun fact about the ARR relic tools, once you get one of them, you can get ALL of them from the Calamity Salvager. Since they're all linked to the same achievement and Calamity just checks achievements to know what you've unlocked, he assumes you have all of them. So if you wanted to use them for glams or whatever you can!
My achievements for the week:
- 100 unique Carpenter leves and 100 total tradecraft leves
- 270 Triple Triad cards collected and 92 unique NPCs beaten
- Level 80 Blue Mage, Paladin, and the achievements for omni-80 on all DoW and all combat jobs
- Level 90 Fisher and the achievement for omni-90 gatherers
- 400 unique fish caught
- HW Sightseeing Log done (2 achievements
- 500 total A-ranks killed
- 150 Deliveries to Ehll Tou, finally time to move on to someone else

Your achievement vids are always a nice way to start my day off during work when i see them
I just combine the "Make items X times" and the "Make quality items X times" into one task, there's a specific action for crafting called delicate synthesis which allows you to craft an item every time with HQ. One button press.
The quiet "TREMBLE!" every time you bought something had me wheezing with laughter and also relatable fear.
I'm doing this on a self sufficient account (no marketboard, trading), and just gathering all the shards needed for the 41-50 crafts will take roughly 110 hours, if I'm focused, closer to 125 if I'm distracted. The bright side is that the gathering Luminary achievements are completely passive and are 100% efficient.
I don't even play FF14, but that patented Cider Spider voice and sense of humor made watching a 30-minute video about crafting items quite a bit of fun. Thanks for a series I look forward to watching every weekend.

For the 3000 41-50 Crafts achievement you can go for Magitek Repair Materials and turn a nice profit out of crafting them all since submarine owners use a LOT of them for their workshop!

Most amount I've spent was in fact on the crafting log because not only do you need to do the regular crafted items but you also need to do all the furniture, and all the flower stuff that alchemist makes. There's a lot of special furniture that needs materials from airships, submarines, Eureka, retainer ventures, tribe quests, maps, and most notably a whole lot of stuff from Coils. Because the Coils crafting items are classified as "monster drops" instead of regular loot it means you either have to do Coils synched or spend literal millions on marketboard. The Hakutaku eyes from Eureka are also stupidly expensive.
Thankfully for HW onwards a lot of the more annoying stuff got moved to master recipes, so you don't need to worry about it. That's why those orchestra rolls didn't count, master recipes, tribe quests, ishgard restoration recipes, custom deliveries, dyes, side stuff like that doesn't get the check of completion so doesn't need to be done for achievements. Don't need to grind every extreme dozens of time for crafting materials.

I bought both of my FC's airships, that's about the most I've dunked in-game ever. About 800k per piece averaged out, so I spent a nice 6.4M gil. Thank goodness I'm going to make it back with all that Dusk Leather and Company Tabards/Company Hats!

Good luck with those grinds. I definitely couldn't do this all at once. I just do like 1 unique recipe a day, and then occasionally i'll grind out a whole level bracket for one job. I'll have that crafting log done in a few years lol.

This one came out at a funny time -- I have just finished leveling all of my crafters finally after taking too long to the get gil for doing so and have been working on diadem the last few weeks! These videos have been a great source of motivation to keep pushing on for those super long term grinds. Great videos as always Cinder!!
Re: qotd - honestly crafter leveling is probably been my biggest achievement related expense there haha. it is about 1.2ish mil per crafter once you have all the gear for all of them ready so I think I have spent almost 10 mil now on that? I think I also spent about 5 mil on getting 9999 of every elemental shard / crystal / cluster at one point which was a dumb decision but I have too much gil lol. outside of big gil expenses -- shoutouts to anima weapons for being so painful on my poetics haha.

Carpenter and alchemist crafter log. After doing all the normal crafts I was left with the furntiure and I could not be arsed to gather any more mats. I also bought all the hakutaku eyes to craft the cluster. Cant remember how much they cost, but was a few mil.

Lucis tools my beloved... I did all of those back on the free trial in ARR, so had to gather/craft everything myself with arr level stats. Genuinely had a good time doing it! Also the ALC tool's an unfortunate pick but the Lucis tools are comically oversized, they're so much larger than others. Might not scale as well for a Lalafell tho...
About the crafting log achievements, I worked on those at the same time I worked on the unique levequests achievements, so when I did a tier of a levequest, I also did that tier of crafting recipes, so I was focused on the same relative set of materials. I've got 6/8 of the crafting log achievements, but CRP and ALC don't have enough recipes in the regular crafting log to complete the achievements, you have to craft furniture too to get those. So I'm putting them off to see how many recipes Dawntrail gives to each. Oh yeah also expert recipes don't count for completion, which you clearly figured out.
I recommend against doing the shb achievements the way you were, you'll get them by doing ishgard restoration achievements, skybuilder tools, and resplendant tools anyway. Similarly the endwalker ones from splenderous tools.
I'm very stingy about spending money so I can't say I've spent much on achievements at all, I think I bought a bunch of logs to get a CRP crafting achievement at some point? Doesn't matter.
Also personal achievement progress from this week, I cleared TEA! Wahoo!
I was totally waiting for Charity to start tackling the crafting wall and am not disappointed. Can't wait to one day see her on a tiny pterodactyl. And talk about a rare instance of no Tank Program on Ultros.
A little trick to make back the money you spend: Some crafters have materials that are worth a lot even at low levels because you need them for furniture or workshop other stuff all the time. For example: Mortar, Varnish, Cobalt ingots, Darksteel Nuggets, etc etc. Also, the furniture tab counts for the recipe log achievements. And thats another thing that potentially sell well.
Seeing "Child Labor" being the only quest tracked during this vid is EXCEPTIONAL
IIRC the gil buyers care because botted gold is more likely to get them caught. They follow the gil out of an account when a bot gets banned, and if there's enough evidence, they can ban sellers and even buyers
That is a more difficult process when for manually farmed gil

Crafting does take a lot of time but auto-crafting it will take you even longer !
-76 800 crats from the thumbnail isnt exactly right since you have to craft 10 000 HQ items per crafters which means 80 000 crafts for all 8 of them at minimum.
-"Craft x amount of time" is less painful if you combine it with "Crafting log" which can go up to 800/1000 for certain job/expansions if you count gatherings/crafting your own materials (Goldsmith works good in that way)
-Working towards 10 000 HQ on one job is painful so it feels best to do it actively while doing the two other kind of achievement listed above, even after doing all of these with as much HQ possible (mats + the craft itself) can get you up to 9 000/10 000 and every non-HQ auto-craft done for "Craft x amount of time" will recquire you to come back later to craft again but HQ (usually the lvl 1 receipe thousands of times)
- So that makes 80 000 in a perfect world but if we count relic tool stuffs and firmament we can easily add another 1 000 per job which leads to 88 000 not counting non-HQ crafts !
-Crating log doesnt count expert receipes (including orchestrion rolls) but it counts furnitures and most importantly the "other" tab which have the FLOWERS EQUIPMENT for ALC and there are hundreds of them, that's why there is 700 logs for ALC

He never changes spots, never chats, is always AFK, has had the same glam ever since i first saw him. Absolute menace.

Some recipes don't count towards the "craft X amount of unique recipes", notably mastercraft recipes (such as the orchestrion rolls you crafted in this video). Look for the little check mark on the item icon in the crafting tab and if you see the check mark then you know that most items in this tab count towards that achievement. On top of my head I know levelling items and housing structures/furnishing are included.
You got me back to playing 14 by having me go after achievements. Today I Just crafted all of BSM's ARR items and turned in all of its ARR levequest so its pretty funny seeing you do crafting too. XD

I probably spent near 7 million to work through Eureka with the fragments/red coat/kirin gear. All for the relic, achievements, and the shiny armor for two dye channels
I'm planning to go for the 'Of The Golden Ladle' title by making Rolanberry Cheese. It's made with 1 rolanberry and 2 night milk. The night milk can be bought from the sahagin for 84 gil each while the rolanberry can be harvested with botany at lvl 45 nodes near Bronze Lake thus making it also useful for grinding out the lvl 41-50 botany achievement. Rolanberry Cheese can be turned in via levequests so it might also potentially earn profit in the end. The levequests themselves can reward you with fire shards so it would be best to craft the items in batches rather than doing all of them at once since the recipe needs fire shards.
Electrum Wristlets of Crafting. You need only one root input, the rings can be grabbed off the market cheaply, and if you desynth the results you get demimateria that sells relatively well on the market.
I've been slowly trying to get crafting achievements as well, and I know the answer to your question at 23:50 . Unique recipes only count if they're a leveling or a housing recipe. so lvling is all things in the leveling tab, and housing consists of all recipes under the housing tab in special recipes that doesn't have stars next to it. Some crafting jobs it's no big deal at all, and some jobs it's... ugh. Just to help you out in your crafting future! :)
