FYI when Cider says "over the course of several years" he means the better part of a decade. Leves alone will take a minimum of 7 years. I'm not sure if there achievements for them but it takes that long to complete all of them. I could be wrong though.
Leves are the longest, but there are several other categories that also take years. Lately I've started on the treasure dungeon achievements which take a couple years if you only ever use your own maps, and the tank achievements also take 2 or 3 years if you only use roulettes for them. Also fishing.
@@hoodiesticks I guess fishing depends on your working hours, if in homeoffice and dedication. I'm down to 18 big fish and started mid april. Got lucky on cinder egg with my first ever window, but ruby dragon still gives me a headache after ~15 windows. And I'm still kinda lazy with fishes like lancet and the ultima thule whale. I wonder, with some of these longer-length-of-time achievements if Square really understood how long the achievement would take when creating the achievement. The other problem is that a lot of the achievements that have super long term requirements to achieve involve content that was not continued to be added to in later expansions. So not only do they take a ton of time, they're boring because they're just no longer really relevant.
@@fenikkusu4893 That is some phenomenally good luck with fishing, but don't underestimate those last 18. Kefka's rig actually has a naming scheme completely different from any other rig I've analyzed in this game so far (the bones have different names). I presume it's because it's imported imported from dissidia.
You can sell excess island materials for the island currencies. Inside the house there's an export mammet that does it. That's what I do when the stack of mats I don't use in workshop reach a bit too high.
Kefka's rig is from his Dissidia appearances. Exdeath's too. I did some grinding of my own this week on the trial: #1 - Got my Gatherers all to 70. #2 - Crafted my HQ Lv70 Accessories so I can craft everything from Master Recipes VI, still need to pentameld the stuff though. 2/5 so far on that. #3 - Monk and Samurai join my group of Lv70 combat classes. 2 Tanks, all 3 Healers, 3 Magic DPS, and Ninja+Dragoon to go. #4 - Finished Balthier's and Vaan's *(his is from Tactic A2)* outfits from Ridorana and Orbonne Monastery. #5 - Got the Gabriel α Identification Key from Moogle Tomestones because Trial can't go to Bozja. Did you know it plays FF12 music? I like FF12, so I had to have it. and #6 - Finally finished Stormblood's MSQ. Maybe if we're lucky they'll add ShB to the trial in 5 years. But also by then they'll probably drop PS4 support, which means I won't be able to play... :( Next item on my agenda is to continue doing roulettes & stuff to get my DPS 70d one at a time and eventually do the Scape raid series for some more Moogle tomestones and to see the story in there for the 1st time.
So in an earlier video you went over spiritbonding and materia extraction. I did some experiments in spritbonding because I didn't wanna pay the upwards of 10k gil each of materia for the ARR relics. Long story short, gathering/crafting is the way to go. You can equip only 5 combat pieces on a crafter/gatherer but the grind goes so much faster than actual combat. I first tried running level appropriate dungeons and got between 26 and 29% for each run. With max spiritbonding bonuses you might push it from 4 runs down to 3 to reach 100%. I only ran with squadrons, but because my gear wasn't great it took anywhere from 15 to 20 mins per run, so your looking at an hour most likely to reach 100%. Next I tried fates. Those consistently gave about 2% each, so that's anywhere from 1 to 2 hours. Then I switched to gathering. Each swing at a node had a roughly 75% chance at giving 1% spiritbond, so on 4 swings per node I got 3% almost every time. This took probably 20 mins or less to go from 1 to 100%. Crafting was pretty close to this result. So if you need rank 1 materia and don't want to spend the money, my recommendation is to gather the millioncorn near Camp Drybone, and convert that to cornmeal. Haven't found good analogs for the other ranks yet but should be easy enough to find.
You can equip full sets of low-level caster gear on DoH/DoL. And a level 90 tool is enough stats that it doesn't matter. Crafting is going to be a lot faster. HQ gear gets a bonus to spiritbonding, and each materia meld also increases speed. If you have pentamelded HQ gear, a +6 spiritbond potion, and you're crafting a recipe 20+ levels higher than your gear, then Quick Synthesis will spiritbond your entire stack in 50 crafts, (2.5 minutes). If you craft Magitek Repair Kits, you can even make a small profit while you grind materia. Note that a lot of older resources for spiritbond will tell you that there's a "sweet spot" for level difference, and you have to be exactly 10 levels off, or whatever. That is no longer true for DoH/DoL content. Higher level content is always better. There's a cap at some point, but there's never any drop off.
The Kefka rig and model is from Dissidia Final Fantasy. They use rigs and models from various Final Fantasies especially a lot from FF13 which 14 shared an engine with during development.
The "less LB generation for duplicate jobs" thing is actually ONLY true in duties marked as a "High-end Duty". Don't fret if you have 2 dancers in your roulettes. :P
Calling Kefka 'Ronald McDonald', I just took psychic damage. I did not enjoy Astro for a long time, then the 6.x patches landed with the minor overhaul and it became better. Looks like 7.0 is really gonna make it more user-friendly though!
my relic grind has stalled a bit, i got all the Anima, Manderville, and Resistance weapons and simply refused to do the Atma step again for several weeks, then started doing leve achievements. So currently unsure when I'll get back into Zodiac, but the month of June has a lot of free time for Eureka, so I should knock out a couple more of those. Assuming Square Enix accepts my money for the subscription fee, of course.
For Island Sanctuary xp, it is actually gained from hour spent on the craft and not the value of craft itself, so as long as you fill out your workshops, you will gain full xp
With PoTD you get poetics, causality, and comedy tomes if you do it on a level 90 job and the weapons you get from trading in aetherpool arm/armor also shows up in the items section where all the combat relics are so if you get to the point were you want to farm Endwalker relics it might be a nice way to double dip (the first 2 sets sort of suck for causality but after those you get 60 each floor set with it being 100 on floors 50 and 100)
The grind to 3000 races is real. I completed almost everything in Gold Saucer, just missing Verminion PvP, Mahjong Master, and the 3000 chocobo races (1900 atm). I decided to not go insane from racing, and just make sure I complete the 20 races for the challenge log every week. It will be finished this way earlier than I finish the levequest achievements.

I turned my squadron into a casual MGP farm (everybody has a chance to get bonus MGP as a trait) which is how I remember to send them out regularly. Right, because she was wearing blue. ^_^ Also, I really need to start working on the Heavensward Relics. Those are my favorites, easy and I have three(soon to be four) level skipped Level 80 jobs that I can get the Lux relics on in a month. :)
My favourite omega boss is o12. I haven't done any savage omega, but even in normal that fight holds up as a moderate challenge in DF. I am 330 lalachievement score behind. I too didn't make much progress in points. However, now that my indagator crafting and gathering sets are done, I have properly resumed the EW doh/dol relic tool grind. I have almost everything gathered, so I'm finally going to see an achievement rain this coming week.
Gotta give it to the Midlander on the right, that blue outfit looks so good. The color, the texture...I'd absolutely wear that. My own week has been rather light thanks to busy evenings and only getting free to game late while still having an 8 to 5. I'm midway through Pyros, though, and working my way through the Omega missions to unlock one for my weekly Moogle Tomestones. Slow progress!
I don't think it's *Possible* to get every Zodiac relic finished by Dawntrail if you're doing every one. Every Relic comes with 12 books with 3 SPECIFIC Levequests that need Leve allowances for them. So even assuming PERFECT RNG in a way that every Levequest you want is up every time, that is 36 Allowances per class... 10 times because you need those 12 books every time so 360 Leve Allowances. And that's assuming PERFECT RNG, which is incredibly unlikely. So if you use a Levequest in order to cycle your quests, that adds to the time required to get those books done.
For achievement purposes, you only need to complete one relic (I believe he already have the SCH book), and the first step of the other 9. No need to worry about the books at all.
Speaking of long grinds, good luck with the tank achievements when you decide to start those. At least 700 high-end duty clears on each tank (probably more when dawntrail releases) is nothing to joke about.
1) Midlander of the week vote goes to Miss S.R. on the right. She cute and I like her hair 2) Did not know about duplicate jobs lowering your LB rate and i have been playing for like...6 years. 3) 16:02 Ok that is the best healer name I have ever seen.
don't know if anyone mentioned this but at 7:03 you didnt get knocked back because the attack didn't break your shield. doesn't work on every knock-back attack but that was a mechanic in older content for some reason.
Are you planning on doing a video about Dawntrail preparations? I've been wondering what I should grind for for a while now, so honestly just having a video to use as an example for what to farm could be pretty good
I'm looking forward to you doing the Zodiac relics! I've heard it has some pretty insane steps though. So that will make for an entertaining video. Like the Anima vid on savage difficulty.
I believe he already completed the Scholar ARR relic, and unlike the expansions, you don't need to get all relics to the final step for achievement points, only the first step for all 10 weapons. Granted, the ARR first step is longer than any other relic first step, but its still much less grind than completing everything.
honestly sage is the only job that I found so confusing that I completely failed to do the first job quest for it lol. at least with the other jobs I'll manage to scrape by that
Uh, hearing you say you want to get combat relics done before DT. As someone with all of them, you'll want to start ASAP. One step in particular is pretty infamous because of how long it takes. I don't want to tell you what to do, but I'm just gonna slightly nudge you in that direction if that's what you want to do.
I never thought could enjoy this vids more until cider said that sage is just a bad version of scholar 😂 finally someone else speaks the truth about it
I am also missing just some of those raid achievements, not even by much, but I just keep expecting them to either show up in WT or roulettes and don't bother doing them actively, lol
Right midlander, hot damn. Does anyone have a source for the different roles thing? I've read details on LB generation that show that you need a 2T+2H+4D composition to avoid a penalty to LB generation, but I haven't seen a solid source that says you specifically need different types of dps for anything (i.e. 2 melee 1 ranged 1 caster). Makes sense that you want a mix of mits and such, so it's still a good idea, but I'm curious whether it's actually necessary or just an oft repeated rumor.
Every time i see a two dancer party I die inside. Either because I'm having to mess with my own muscle memory to offset tech step or because I try to wait, they don't do it, and the instant i finish the dance I look at the party list to see their tech step pop up just to override my buff 4 seconds later.

Also, I really need to start working on the Heavensward Relics. Those are my favorites, easy and I have three(soon to be four) level skipped Level 80 jobs that I can get the Lux relics on in a month. :)
While Kefka is a unique rig, he's imported from Dissidia NT/Arcade! This is the same with the Cloud of Darkness from Eden 9.
5:59 Agh your alarm made me sit up!
"We promised to adventure together and you are now stuck on an island forever".
That's the plot of the Steven Universe movie.
Why not both Midlanders, they're even "dancing" together? : V
Love your content, keep it up! Also Alpha = best boi
1) Midlander of the week vote goes to Miss S.R. on the right. She cute and I like her hair
2) Did not know about duplicate jobs lowering your LB rate and i have been playing for like...6 years.
3) 16:02 Ok that is the best healer name I have ever seen.
Right, thats a really nice looking shade of blue.
Only a few weeks and astrodyne will be astrodone
i only remembered to check on my isle sanctuary when i see Cider remembers in the Vid lol.
don't know if anyone mentioned this but at 7:03 you didnt get knocked back because the attack didn't break your shield. doesn't work on every knock-back attack but that was a mechanic in older content for some reason.
That UCoB achievement looking like it was calling to you. Come on Cider, you know you wanna ;)
The reason why you feel the rig for Kefka is familiar is because his animations all come from Dissidia.
@@NibelungJ Oh, you are right. For some reason, I was under the impression you needed ALL the zeta weapons for an achievement, but I was wrong.
hey not every week is gonna be a banger, and thats okay. we got a new expansion coming right up, lets hope we can all enjoy it.
i always forget until you start running around limsa that you're in MY server, it's weird to remember lol hopefully get to catch you in game sometime!
honestly sage is the only job that I found so confusing that I completely failed to do the first job quest for it lol. at least with the other jobs I'll manage to scrape by that
hope you enjoyed the birthday too :)
Midlander of the Week: RIGHT!!! (of course ^^ )
Now would be a bad time to tell him that a McDonalds in my home state of WV sells/sold pizza.
14:30 Omega prank called you to get the upper hand. Also my vote goes to the right midlander because I know that player personally
Patiently waiting for blue mage content.
"good thing we have a spare." lol Also, Right is the highlander of the week.
Here's to hoping one day I can run into you in Limsa 😅 been watching for a hot minute and just realized we are on the same DC
Omg what is that Astro glam!? It’s so cute!
This video reminded me that I haven't logged in in close to two weeks and my island animals are probably hostile. >
I never thought could enjoy this vids more until cider said that sage is just a bad version of scholar 😂 finally someone else speaks the truth about it
10:15 - their plan didn't work for Endwalker, so in Dawntrail they just turned Scholar into a knockoff White Mage
Cider "people die when they are killed" Spider
I am also missing just some of those raid achievements, not even by much, but I just keep expecting them to either show up in WT or roulettes and don't bother doing them actively, lol
Great video, Cider!
Can't wait till you start the fishing
You made me look at some content in a different light.
O12 is really the best of the Omega fights, it actually felt like you needed to know the mechanics.
*Nice FINALLY some interesting harder content!* 😎
Every time i see a two dancer party I die inside.
Either because I'm having to mess with my own muscle memory to offset tech step or because I try to wait, they don't do it, and the instant i finish the dance I look at the party list to see their tech step pop up just to override my buff 4 seconds later.
Dancing mad is just.. masterpiece
As White Mage you can apply HOTs.
Shout out to Left Midlander. It was a close match but left midlander won me over with the visor
blue bikiny the color matching just does something for me. thats my vote.
Midlander on the left, not even close. More color variance, and the hat is a nice touch
Isn't Bole a caster card? MP is stored in the Boles after all
