Maize harvest in extreme wet soil conditions | Claas Jaguar 940 & Kato track dumpers | GM Damsteegt

- When the going gets tough the tough get going, in this case contrator G.M. Damsteegt from Oud-Alblas in the Netherlands.
When there is a lot of rainfall, especially on the peat soils in mid Holland the harvest can be difficult. Contrator G.M. Damsteegt converted for this a Claas Jaguar 940 SPFH on tracks.
Thanks for watching!

Amazing!
No really, this video shows why The Netherlands is held in such high regard amongst the Agricure community.
You guys have the most efficient solution to every problem you can entounter covered! I’m not basing that statement on this video alone at all, but I’ll admit it seals the deal! 😉
This video deserves a million views by the way, it’s exemplary through and through.
sadly our government is killing our way of farming, lots of farmers are forced to sell there ground, and move to amerika denmark norway france, or they stop even farming, begause here are tomutch little stupid rules
@@Kale050 You forgot Canada, all my neighbours are from the Netherlands.

When you want to have a tank but you also want a dump truck
As a Dutch guy, we got to love water
This is giving me Crossout vibes. You know, once you have tracks you put them on everything
I love working i can watch it for hours
*Oh my goodness, it feels like an eternity since the last upload. Great video!*
Love to watch machines at work😌
Prachtig om te zien!
Superb setup for the conditions, great video
Considering the drive to the silo was about 50 feet he sure got those trucks full

Yeah. You also didnt get it.
@suffeks this is in the netherlands, we don't have the climate for rice

We need something like those vehicles and a map to match like this for FS19 :)
Any wetter and you would need a submarine
That is tough farming there, great ingenuity from that crew. Good machines for the job. Great video!
Love Your channel ✌️ Greeting from Poland 🇵🇱
halo polska?
My god, it feels like it's been forever since the last upload. Great video!
BEAUTIFUL JOB. CONGRATULATIONS!
Die claas is mooier en beter dan die oudere john deere die ze hadden. Mooie investering.
Excellent video & really interesting to watch, nice work & great to see a NEW Video from you!!😀

Modern agricultural machinery improves working conditions for laborers by reducing strenuous and hazardous tasks.😊
Great video!!
This looks a bit like Mudrunner + Farming Simulator
That’s like my dream game

@@alexanderstrain7865 I was kinda hoping for cattle and crops to be that game but from the videos I have seen its not looking like it
@The Train Fan A cross with spintires would be awesome or something just as simple as the old agrar simulator had dynamic ground
@The Train Fan there is a mod my friend
Great Vlog, very wet silage making, great gear for wet conditions, thanks
Ist das ein schöner Anblick
What sort of machine pulls these out if they get stuck, tank revovery maybe 🤔
Maybe the other two tracked machines if the mud isnt to wet
I think they won't get stuck
Ummmmmm good question

Usually something along ways away with a lot of either chain or industrial towrope.
This Fields look more like Rice Fields than Corn Fields... really great Machines!
Claas have machines for these too, Crop Tiger 30, on tracks, paddy field stalwarts..!! They get bogged too, very amusing, watch the videos....
So beautiful claas lexion

G'day very cool and great video mate
I've never seen ricekorn harvest before.
Neither have I. It's an experience to see something like this, though.
This is not rice, it is maize.
@@123TauruZ321 the Chinese tried to grow wheat underwater last season too. I wonder what equipment they used to harvest it with.
Nice Video !
So - when will this system be applied to the north sea?
Fascinating!
I am from India, I like your videos
Ohh that sweet turn
O beautiful video,interesting maschinen.
Fantastic!!!
Almost everything on the modern farm is on tracks today, they really have taken over, looks more like a construction site than a farm, which is good and amazing high productivity in all weather conditions, light years away from the boring old farm machinery we had not that long ago....!
Amazing sir
I understand the need to get crops out of the field but the soil compaction here just breaks my heart.
Thats why they have a Chain Drive. That means it happens every year....
it gets cultivated before planting so thats no problem.
The soil compaction is much lower than a normal field harvested with wheels.
Claas is telling the new Jaguar 960 with 635mm tracs has 2 times more area it stands on like the same machine with the big 800th wheels on it.
Muito bom gostei parabéns
wow interesting :) thumb up & greetings

Ich bin froh dass es bei uns in Bayern so trocken ist
Mooi hoor die rupsdumpers
wow they big
Claas is pretty good!
I need both of this for the zombie apocalypse
Considering the conditions on the field, those big tracked machines did literally no damage to the soil. If they had normal rubber tires they would destroy it. If you asked me, I would equip all those big harvesters with full tracks like those shown here. It would minimize the compaction and it even makes them more agile since they can turn at the spot. It would cost more than using tires though.
Road speed would also be awful...
@@diarmuid858 Yes indeed.Tracks have some downsides but in extreme situations there is no better solution.
The tracks are not destroying it on the top. But driving on wet soil like this will compact it down in the lower parts. And the problem is that it's compaction you can't loosen up again because it's deep down below the machines working deph to rip it open
@@eltontv6002 They deep plough in these areas every so often, which helps combat the deep compaction issues
@@Frithgar yeah it helps but you destroy your soil structure with ot

Tank tracks for a jaguar, and a bank out!
Nice neutral turn there 1:20. I wonder if the driver is an ex tank driver
They had one of these before this one I belive
Honestly, and I know this sounds like a humblebrag. But driving a tracked vehicle is as natural as it can get. Skilled operated for sure, but I’m calling him skilled because of his control of the feeder head. No mud in the silage material, what a pro. The tracks are easy to get used to, operating the header takes years and years.
isnt that how anyone would turn a tracked vehicle if they had obstacles on 3 sides of them and operated a machine for more then a day...
@@khancrow8212 yeah my thoughts exactly. I'm not sure how this is impressive or conveys any notion other than the guy is driving a tracked vehicle...
@@khancrow8212 i mean, if 17 year old runaway school dropouts could manage this in vietnam 50 years ago while being shot at from the speaking bushes, it can't be that unintuitive.
The real pros are the guys who do "neutral" -sort of- turns in harvesters with wheels. the guys who used to harvest our corn had a head 8 rows wide, and if they used the individual wheel brakes to get the turn at the end done in one go. good stuff.
Do the tracks have any type of suspension besides the wheel pairs on bogies?
Steering still seems to be by the wheel, be interesting to see how they arranged the steering
it used to be stearing by breaking 1 side when they used mecanical kardang traction, cind of like the seperate wheel brakes on old 2 wheel drive tractors, that often when pulling heavy equipment had the front wheels in the air. and you used the seperate brakes to stear. 🤣
but modern hydraulic engines on each side driving the belts makes it easyer to make a smoth stearing becouse you only need to say reduce the oilflow to 1 side to make the other side go faster.. so the stearing wheel most likely just open and closes valves directing oilflow to the engines at different speed,, and same speed if they want to drive strait.
super!!!
