Way to wreck the speedometer cluster, that was one of the best details about a ‘57-‘58 Plymouth

That's awesome, Hey btw does anybody know where I can get a parts car for a 1957 plymouth (4-door hardtop if possible). I have one that is severely rusted, basically the bottom six inches of the body is rotten off. I know people generally dont waste time on 4-doors but somebody has to save them or they will all be gone. The car sat in a dirt alleyway in Kansas from about 1970-2008. It had sunk into the ground so far her frame rails were on the ground when I found her. . The frame is surprisingly very solid but the body is a freaking mess. I know I should just get a better one but I like a challenge and it will be a good opportunity to learn advanced body work anyway without having to worry too much about messing it up (how much worse could i possibly make it right?!?). I am going to do the best I can on it without cutting any corners. All patch panels will be but-welded in not lap welded. I want the body to be a seamless repair job even when when in bare steel. Essentially, I don't want anybody to even realize the car was repaired even if it is restored again in the future. I plan on making a youtube series on the restoration of the car to show how bad a car can be and still be brought back without breaking the bank if it is done the right way. I have seen too many savable cars be scrapped because people think they are a lost cause and it makes me really sad. I currently have the car running and driving "not legally" and most everything is working. The car runs as good as new with an original style 301 poly out of another 57 plymouth. The original torque flight works flawlessly and shifts like an absolute dream.

Try John at Big M Auto Parts in Williams Ca. He kind of specializes in this era of Mopars.

Restorations are for sissies and people with no imagination LOL. I have been working on it a little bit though........ getting ready to put a non Mopar power steering on it and just got done building a set of Dual Quads to replace the Tri Power

Another red one why not just leave them original. I have a 57 and people love the car it's original color and it's not red.

Personally I generally find original boring. Apparently so did one of the previous owners.....the gold stripe and trim on the side was a late 50s-early 60s add on. I've built a lot of cars for myself over the years in a lot of different colors. I tend to go for reds and blues and leave white for the sleepers I've built.
