You have exposed the art of mold cutting and provided a benchmark for me to aspire to. ... I'd love to see a video demonstration of the plug cutting technique if you get an opportunity to make one. Thanks for your kind words, Julian. I've become busy on other projects besides making mold videos. I remember seeing a really great GIA video on youtube or vimeo about "cutting a spiral plug" for a ring top. Their method was different than mine, but works quite well. Good Luck!
instead of putting the ring in the molding form tray vertical put it in the tray horizontal and cut the hole plug out of the center of the rubber block then cut the plug in half this will be easier to remove the wax pattern
